Mon Jan 14 201318:12DeAngelo Hall open to restructure with Skins
The Washington Post reiterated that DeAngelo Hall is open to restructuring his contract if need be but questions whether the Redskins even want him back.
Hall has two years left on a six-year contract and is due $7.5 million in 2013. After the Wild Card loss to the Seahawks, Hall said he'd do "whatever I gotta do to be here." The 29-year-old gave up over 1,000 yards to opposing receivers in his coverage, but Washington doesn't possess much better internal options at the moment.

Mon Jan 7 201311:15DeAngelo Hall may have to restructure
DeAngelo Hall acknowledges that his scheduled $7.5 million salary may prevent him from returning to the Redskins next season.
Hall wants to stay with the Redskins and is open to restructuring his contract. "Whatever I gotta do to be here," said Hall. "I'm gonna try to get it done." Hall spent much of Sunday's playoff loss jacking his jaw and picking fights with Seahawks offensive players.

Tue Dec 4 201217:56Redskins CB Hall on crutches Tuesday
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall was on crutches while nursing an ankle injury Tuesday.
Coach Mike Shanahan said there were no serious injuries in Monday night's win over the Giants. Hall said he plans to play Sunday versus the Ravens, but it's pretty clear that he won't be 100 percent. The Redskins will also be without suspended nickel corner Cedric Griffin.

Wed Oct 31 201214:57Hall has no guaranteed money beyond 2013
ESPN 980 Washington confirms Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall is due no guaranteed money beyond 2012.
Hall is due $7.5 million in 2013 and $9 million in 2014, but not a cent of his salary is guaranteed. If Hall is released before June 1, he'll count $0 against the 2013 cap. It's a set of circumstances that all but guarantee Hall will be playing elsewhere next season.

Mon Oct 29 201216:13Redskins can cut DeAngelo Hall easily in 2013
The Redskins structured CB DeAngelo Hall's contract in 2009 so that his $15 million signing/option bonus wouldn't prorate into 2013.
The $15 million lump sum was paid in 2010, and was "contained" to that year instead of prorated over the life of the contract, as most signing bonuses do. In other words, the Redskins wouldn't take a significant salary cap hit to release Hall after the season. 28-year-old Hall has been a disaster in coverage this season and embarrassed the franchise by jaw-jacking and pointing in a referee's face in Week 8, necessitating his ejection.

Sun Oct 28 201215:55DeAngelo Hall ejected from Week 8 game
DeAngelo Hall was ejected from Sunday's game against the Steelers in the fourth quarter for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Hall got in a bit of a tussle with Emmanuel Sanders late in the game, and then got in an official's face and used multiple curse words as he was complaining. He was penalized twice on the play and was subsequently kicked out of the game. A suspension, and likely fine, may be coming Hall's way this week.

Fri Aug 24 201216:28DeAngelo Hall getting snaps at free safety
As expected, the Redskins have been giving CB DeAngelo Hall snaps at free safety this preseason.
Hall admits he's still adjusting to tackling angles and coverage duties at the new position, but the Redskins are following through with their original plan of using him in a Charles Woodson-type role. When Hall plays safety in the nickel, Cedric Griffin and Josh Wilson have been on the corners. Griffin has been atrocious in the preseason, getting picked on particularly by the Bears.

Fri Jun 1 201214:36DeAngelo Hall envisions Woodson-like role
DeAngelo Hall anticipates playing a Charles Woodson-type role in the Redskins' revised 2012 defense, moving all around the formation.
Woodson covers slot receivers, plays safety in some packages, and matches up one-on-one at left cornerback in the base defense. "He got Defensive Player of the Year [covering slot receivers], so hopefully I can get some of that same kind of buzz and excitement out there, making plays," Hall said. "I'm definitely relishing the opportunity to get in there." It could also be nice for his IDP value.

Tue Sep 27 201113:37DeAngelo Hall taking shots at DC Haslett
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall took a shot at DC Jim Haslett after Monday night's loss to the Cowboys.
Hall was burned by Dez Bryant for a 30-yard catch and a 15-yard face mask penalty on a key 3rd-and-21 situation late in the game. "You ain't supposed to have to [cover for that long], but [expletive] happens," Hall said. "... You don't have to be a [bleeping] rocket scientist to figure it out after awhile." Hall blamed the refs and his own coaches after running his mouth all week. He remains the quintessential "big hat, no cattle" NFL star.

Sat Jun 11 201109:33DeAngelo Hall's home being repossessed
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall reportedly owes over $24,000 in back property taxes on his home in Northampton County, Virginia.
He's far enough behind that the county is in the process of seizing his home and selling it, though he reportedly still has time to stop the sale. Handsomely paid in 2010 and set to make a base salary of $4.5 million this season, Hall should have the money to get out of this mess.

Sun Mar 20 201113:59Hall a bottom feeder in cornerback metrics
DeAngelo Hall finished in the bottom three among all cornerbacks in Football Outsiders' Success Rate (39 percent), yards per pass (10.5), and YAC allowed (5.8) in 2010.
Perception meets reality. The metrics don't take into account Hall's playmaking ability, but they do show that he's one of the most easily beaten corners in the league. Hall had no business in the Pro Bowl, much less winning MVP honors.

Sun Jan 30 201122:40DeAngelo Hall named Pro Bowl MVP in snoozer
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall was named the 2011 Pro Bowl MVP as the NFC knocked off the AFC, 55-41.
It's fitting that a player undeserving of a Pro Bowl nod came away with the hardware in a snoozefest that saw the NFC jump out to a 42-0 by late in the second quarter. Hall intercepted Philip Rivers in the end zone, returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown, and tied for the NFC team lead with six tackles. The defensive effort from both sides was casual at best, as 13 different players found the end zone. Thanks to Browns C Alex Mack's improbable last-minute score, the 96 points were the second-most in Pro Bowl history behind the 107 scored in 2004.
Sun Dec 26 201014:09DeAngelo Hall leaves with hamstring injury
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall left Sunday's game in the second quarter with an apparent right hamstring injury.
The Redskins' already depleted secondary can ill-afford another key injury. Phillip Buchanon has come on to take Hall's spot with David Garrard already over 160 yards with five minutes to go in the second quarter.
Tue Nov 16 201002:53Hall, Landry taunted Jackson about concussion
It was revealed following Monday's Week 10 matchup between Washington and Philadelphia that a group of Redskins' players, specifically DeAngelo Hall, taunted DeSean Jackson prior to the game about his concussion.
Hall and safety LaRon Landry were reportedly seen making "pillow gestures" towards Jackson and told the wide receiver "night, night." There's a chance this is what led to the brief pre-game skirmish. Hall denied the allegations, going so far as to text a reporter saying "he (Hall) did nothing to Jackson." The league is doing everything it can to take concussions seriously, but it's hard to imagine either player receiving more than a slap on the wrist (fine), if anything at all, for the alleged incident.
Mon Nov 15 201021:46DeAngelo Hall limps off holding right hammy
DeAngelo Hall appeared to hurt his right hamstring after making a tackle in the second quarter of Monday's Week 10 game.
Injury to insult, as Hall has already been burned for two touchdowns on the night. Hall has never missed a game due to hamstring issues.
Thu Oct 21 201012:24Hall, Haslett involved in heated exchange
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett got into a heated exchange Tuesday over pass coverage instructions.
After the incident, coach Mike Shanahan held a private meeting with Hall and later singled him out during a team meeting Wednesday. Hall feels he was receiving mixed signals on how to play a certain pass coverage, but he and Haslett reportedly have a good relationship, so this will likely blow over. It's also been revealed that Hall has been dealing with a back injury for weeks, but it's minor in nature.

Mon Sep 20 201013:48DeAngelo Hall: This is my team, my defense
After watching his team blow a 17-point lead Sunday, Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall says from now on he's going to shadow the opposing team's best receiver instead of being relegated to the left side of the field.
When asked if defensive coordinator Jim Haslett would be receptive to the change, Hall responded, "It don't matter what he say. This [is] my team. This [is] my defense." Hall's overinflated ego is at it again. Despite the cornerback's declaration, any changes to the defense will be made by Haslett.
