Ginn (knee) is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans.
Ginn wasn't previously known to be dealing with an injury, so the issue likely isn't all that serious. The veteran speedster is trying to hold off rookie thrid-round draft pick John Brown for the No. 3 wide receiver role.

Thu Mar 13 201414:21Ted Ginn on way to meet with ARZ
Free agent WR/KR Ted Ginn is meeting with the Cardinals Thursday.
It's a very intriguing fit. Bruce Arians is a master at getting his wideouts open and they have a hole at the No. 3 spot after losing Andre Roberts. The speedy Ginn would also provide a boost to a return unit that ranked 31st in kickoff return average last year while also stretching the defense in a situational deep threat role.

Thu Mar 13 201410:51Giants now looking at speedy Ted Ginn
The Giants are reportedly pursuing free agent WR/KR Ted Ginn.
After missing out on Jacoby Jones, the Giants are turning their attention to a similar player as they try to upgrade their return game. Ginn won't be cheap, however, He showed well when given opportunities as a wideout last year, giving him extra value to a team like the Panthers or Bucs.

Free agent Ted Ginn is visiting the Bucs.
As is ex-Pats special teamer Dane Fletcher. With the Bucs loading up on veteran talent, Ginn would be a deep threat as a No. 3/4 receiver. The Bucs have also been linked to Steve Smith.

Thu Feb 27 201419:01Panthers hope to re-sign free agent Ted Ginn
The Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers hope to re-sign free agent Ted Ginn.
The former first-round bust is coming off a career year, and was Cam Newton's most reliable deep threat last season. Ginn's "career year" still consisted of just 36 catches for 556 yards and five touchdowns, but wanting to re-sign him shouldn't elicit the snickers it would have in the past. Two months shy of his 29th birthday, Ginn still has speed to burn.

Mon Jan 13 201409:01Cam: Niners tried to shut down Ted Ginn
Following Sunday's loss, Cam Newton said the 49ers were paying more "attention" to Ted Ginn than any other Panthers receiver.
Ginn's agent should take this quote with him to upcoming free agency negotiations. The former bust of a first-round pick by the Dolphins quietly turned into a legit playmaker as a receiver this season, catching 36 passes for 556 yards with a career-high five touchdowns. With Steve Smith slowing down and Brandon LaFell heading for free agency as well, the Panthers should make an effort to bring back Ginn.

Sun Jan 12 201416:26Ted Ginn goes for 104 yards in playoff loss
Ted Ginn caught four passes for 104 yards in Carolina's Week 19 playoff loss to San Francisco.
Ginn's first reception went for 14 yards down the right sideline in the first quarter. He also chipped in a 22-yard punt return early in the second, and a 17-yard catch in the fourth. The bulk of Ginn's yardage came on a meaningless 59-yard reception late in the fourth quarter with the game already wrapped up. One of rookie GM Dave Gettleman's prize 2013 signings, Ginn is now eligible for unrestricted free agency after arguably his best all-around NFL season. He should get a multi-year deal with some guaranteed money.

Sun Dec 29 201316:38Ted Ginn scores on a pick play
Ted Ginn caught two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 17 win at Atlanta.
Ginn started in place of Steve Smith (knee) and scored on a goal-line pick play, but saw just five targets and wasn't close to any chunk gains. He'll remain a true weapon on returns and in the screen game in the playoffs. Ginn, whose raw speed and improved skill set was underutilized by the Panthers all year, finishes the regular season with 36 catches for 566 yards and five touchdowns on a meager 68 targets.

Sun Dec 15 201321:25Ginn limited to one catch vs. Jets
Ted Ginn had one catch for 10 yards in Week 15 against the Jets.
He added one carry for 14 yards on the Panthers' first drive of the third quarter. Ginn was a non-factor in the passing game and finished with just one target. He won't be a fantasy option in Week 16 against the Saints.

Ted Ginn caught two passes for five yards in Week 14 against the Saints.
He was targeted five times in the passing game. Ginn is the Panthers' best deep threat, but hasn't had more than 47 receiving yards since Week 8. He won't be on the fantasy radar even in a plus matchup next week with the Jets.

Sun Dec 1 201318:02Ted Ginn goes 2/47/1 versus Buccaneers
Ted Ginn caught two passes for 47 yards and a touchdown in Carolina's Week 13 win over the Bucs.
Ginn displayed some fancy footwork near the sideline on his 36-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Ginn is good for a weekly deep bomb or two, but it's not a recipe for fantasy reliability. The return specialist posing as a No. 3 receiver is on pace for a 37/625/5 line.

Sun Nov 24 201319:18Ted Ginn has rough day at the office
Ted Ginn caught three passes for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 12 win at Miami.
Ginn was atrocious on offense. He saw 10 targets, failing to make anyone miss in the screen game and dropping a bomb from Cam Newton that would have gone for a touchdown. It reminded the Miami fans why they let the No. 9 overall pick in the 2007 draft go. Ginn isn't good enough to be worth a roster spot in fantasy leagues even though the Panthers are trying to manufacture the speedster touches.

Tue Nov 19 201301:06Ginn catches game-winning 25-yard TD on MNF
Ted Ginn caught a 25-yard touchdown in Week 11 against the Patriots.
It was the biggest catch of the night, though. Ginn caught a short pass near the 15-yard line on the final drive. He made Kyle Arrington miss before breezing past another two defenders on his way to the left pylon for the game-winning score with 59 seconds left on the clock to put the Panthers up 24-20. Ginn has just four catches in his last three games and isn't worth a fantasy roster spot.

Sun Nov 3 201317:26Ginn catches one pass for 10 yards vs. ATL
Ted Ginn caught one pass for 10 yards in Carolina's Week 9 win over the Falcons.
Ginn was targeted only three times, making it the third time in four games he drew three of fewer looks. Ginn has been ripping off big plays, but doesn't have the touchdowns or increased snaps to show for it. He remains off the 12-team league radar. With half the season now in the books, Ginn is on pace for 40 catches, 714 yards and four scores, but it's hard to see him reaching that yardage total.

Wed Oct 30 201308:40Rivera: Ginn has been 'very special for us'
Coach Ron Rivera said Ted Ginn "has been very special for us."
We're finally starting to see Ginn do some of the things he was expected to do when the Dolphins took him ninth overall way back in 2007. Through seven games, he has 20 catches for 357 yards (17.9 YPC) with two touchdowns, with six of those grabs going for 20+ yards. He has another dream matchup in Week 9 as the Panthers will host the Falcons, putting him on the desperation flier radar. But in general, Ginn's boom-or-bust style while sharing the secondary receiver receiver role with Brandon LaFell will lead to fantasy headaches.

Fri Oct 25 201300:48Ted Ginn leads Panthers in Week 8 receiving
Ted Ginn caught five passes for 80 yards in Week 8 against the Bucs.
With Steve Smith being shadowed by Darrelle Revis, Ginn was surprisingly a big part of the Panthers offense. He led the team in receiving yards and finished behind only Steve Smith with six targets. Ginn would of had an even bigger game, but dropped a wide open pass deep down the right sideline in the second quarter. He now has 20 receptions for 357 yards through seven games.
