Sun Oct 20 201318:45Ted Ginn has 2/34 afternoon in win over STL
Ted Ginn caught two passes for 34 yards in Carolina's Week 7 win over the Rams.
Fighting for extra yardage on his second catch, Ginn came up inches short of a 23-yard touchdown. Little more than a weekly hail mary, Ginn is barely on the radar in 14-team leagues.

Sun Oct 13 201316:20Ted Ginn manages 22 receiving yards Sunday
Ted Ginn caught two passes for 22 yards and lost three yards on a rushing attempt in Week 6 at Minnesota.
Ginn made a critical seal block on Brandon LaFell's 79-yard touchdown, but was otherwise quiet. Ginn isn't a fantasy option in standard leagues, though he deserves credit for playing well as Carolina's No. 3 wideout.

Sun Oct 6 201319:30Ted Ginn goes for 78 yards in Week 5 loss
Ted Ginn secured 4-of-5 targets for 78 yards in Carolina's Week 5 loss to Arizona.
Ginn can't be trusted in fantasy leagues, but he's been a surprisingly big part of Carolina's passing attack through four games. He's on pace for 884 receiving yards. That number is more likely to go down than up or stay static. Ginn won't be on the fantasy-lineup radar in Week 6 against Minnesota.

Sun Sep 22 201316:23Ted Ginn has big game against Giants
Ted Ginn caught three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for 11 yards in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Giants.
He added a 12-yard punt return. Ginn has played surprisingly well at receiver early this season, but is a No. 3 wideout on a run-first team and will inevitably encounter major fantasy bumps in the road. He's not worth a roster spot in 12-team leagues.

Sun Sep 15 201318:29Ted Ginn posts 62 yards, touchdown in loss
Ted Ginn caught three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 2 loss to the Bills.
Ginn was used as an outside receiver in three-wide sets, with Brandon LaFell moving to the slot. He beat Justin Rogers deep for a 40-yard touchdown, but it was an otherwise fluky performance. Ginn is a situational deep threat in a run-first offense and has little upside as the Panthers' No. 3 receiver.

Mon Jul 29 201315:16Ted Ginn running as Panthers No. 3 WR
Ted Ginn is running as the No. 3 receiver early in Panthers camp.
He's got an early leg up on Domenik Hixon, whom reports indicate has struggled in the chemistry area with Cam Newton. Although Ginn lacks reliable hands and is never going to be an asset over the middle, he is something of a scheme fit in Carolina's vertical offense because of his deep speed. Just don't anticipate fantasy impact. Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell are entrenched as starters.

Wed Jun 12 201309:04Ted Ginn in the mix for a deep threat role
Coach Ron Rivera hinted that Ted Ginn will be used in a situational deep threat role this season.
Domenik Hixon (hamstring) is sitting out this week's minicamp, so Ginn is getting a shot at some No. 3 wideout reps in addition to his return duties. "Obviously, with his speed, we know he can blow the top off the covers and he's showing. He's going," Rivera said. "I think he's going to help us with some of the complimentary reps that we'll have." Ginn has averaged 23.3 yards per reception on his 161 career catches. At the very least, he can clear out a safety.

Sun Apr 7 201311:28Ginn the favorite for Panthers' return job
Panthers.com considers Ted Ginn the "leader in the clubhouse" to handle return duties this season.
Ginn will face competition from Kealoha Pilares, Armond Smith, Armanti Edwards, Joe Adams, and Domenik Hixon, but the 28-year-old veteran should win out. Ginn has averaged 23.2 yards per kickoff return and 11.0 yards on punt returns in his career with six combined touchdowns.

Thu Mar 21 201317:10Panthers sign WR/KR Ted Ginn to one-year deal
Panthers signed WR/KR Ted Ginn, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year contract.
Ginn drew interest from the Bengals and Panthers in free agency, but he chose to sign with Carolina. His main contributions will be in the return game, taking over for busts Joe Adams and Armanti Edwards. The Panthers' receiving depth chart also doesn't bring much to the table after Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell, so Ginn could challenge for reps behind them. Ginn averaged 10.2 yards on 32 punt returns in 2012.

Wed Mar 20 201313:17Panthers coach Ron Rivera excited about prospect of signing free...
Panthers coach Ron Rivera is excited about the prospect of signing free agent KR/WR Ted Ginn.
"I know our guys really spoke highly of his visit," Rivera said. "The interesting thing about Ted is he gives us some depth at wide receiver who can challenge for playing time opportunity. But also he's got special teams value, which is big." If Rivera's comments are any indication, Ginn should become a Panther some time in the next 48 hours.

Tue Mar 19 201318:18Ted Ginn visits Panthers
Free agent KR/WR Ted Ginn visited the Panthers on Tuesday.
It's Ginn's second visit after he stopped by Cincinnati last week. Carolina needs help at receiver, but Ginn would likely be signed as a pure return specialist.

Thu Mar 14 201316:04Ted Ginn visits the Bengals
Free agent KR/WR Ted Ginn visited the Bengals on Thursday.
Cincinnati is in the market for a straight-line situational deep threat and kick returner with Brandon Tate being a free agent. Ginn also has ties to the area as an Ohio State alum.

Sun Mar 10 201313:05Lions could be interested in Ted Ginn
The Detroit Free Press thinks the Lions could be interested in free agent Ted Ginn if second-tier free agents get too pricey.
It appears that the second-tier guys will indeed be looking for monster paydays after Brian Hartline set their market on Thursday. Stefan Logan was a complete failure in the return game for Detroit last year, so finding his replacement there and a deep threat like Ginn to replace Titus Young in the receiver corps wouldn't be a bad idea.

Fri Feb 22 201311:14Report: 49ers not keen on keeping Ginn
A league source tells CSN Bay Area the 49ers have not "placed a high priority" on re-signing return specialist Ted Ginn
Ginn is still a fine return man, but continued to have trouble staying healthy in 2012, and offered nothing as a pass catcher for a team that was hurting for receiver depth. The 49ers would be better off devoting Ginn's roster spot to a return man who can actually catch a few passes in a pinch, or vice versa. Beat writer Matt Maiocco reports LaMichael James and Kyle Williams could compete for return duties in Ginn's absence.

Tue Feb 5 201310:26Ted Ginn moving on from 49ers?
Ted Ginn's father suggested that his free agent son will not be back with the Niners next season.
Despite season-ending injuries to both Kyle Williams and Mario Manningham, Ginn was limited to strict return duties. He finished with two catches on the year. "They don't use him. He has to find a home," the elder Ginn said. Expect the return specialist to sign on with a team willing to at least let him compete for snaps at wideout.

Mon Feb 4 201300:19Ted Ginn held catch-less in Super Bowl
Ted Ginn was held without a catch in the 49ers' Super Bowl XLVII loss to Baltimore.
Ginn was silent as usual in the receiving game, but he broke off a field-changing punt return of 32 yards midway through the third quarter, setting up a Frank Gore touchdown that cut Baltimore's lead to 28-20. Ginn also had a 31-yard kick return. An impending free agent, the ship seems to have sailed on Ginn emerging as an impact wide receiver. 28 in April, Ginn will likely be viewed by most clubs as a return specialist only on the open market.

Sun Dec 2 201217:53Ted Ginn catches one pass in loss
Ted Ginn caught one pass for one yard in San Francisco's Week 13 loss to the Rams.
Ginn's only target of the afternoon was just his second of the season. He was a part of the game's biggest play, however, as QB Colin Kaepernick fouled up a pitch to Ginn with 3:04 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Rams took the resulting fumble to the house for a touchdown. Even with Kyle Williams out for the season, there's a zero percent chance Ginn becomes a factor in the 49ers offense.

Mon Oct 1 201211:06Ted Ginn back as return man
Making his 2012 debut, Ted Ginn (ankle) returned four punts for 40 yards in the 49ers' Week 4 win over the Jets.
Ginn got one carry for seven yards and didn't see a target in the passing game. Kyle Williams continued to handle kickoff returns, but Ginn should be back there soon enough. Last year, he was third in kickoff-return average (27.3 yards) and fourth in punt-return average (12.3).

Fri Sep 21 201216:51Ginn, Jacobs both officially questionable
Ted Ginn (ankle) and Brandon Jacobs (knee) are both questionable for Week 3.
Just like they were in Week 2. CSN Bay Area reported Thursday that Jacobs "appears doubtful" for Sunday's tilt with the Vikings, but it appears Ginn might finally have a chance at reclaiming return duties. Regardless, he remains out of sight, out of mind in fantasy leagues.
