Thu Oct 23 201418:58Campbell (knee) limited participant in Thursday's practice
Campbell (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Campbell cleared a major hurdle on his road back Thursday, practicing for the first time since suffering a slight MCL tear Oct. 5 against Denver. He stressed that he doesn't want to return to the field unprepared, but Campbell remains cautiously optimistic about playing Sunday against the Eagles, a proposition which seems realistic barring a setback. Coach Bruce Arians said previously that Campbell would need to log at least one practice in order to play in Week 8.

Campbell (knee) may take part in practice this week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
An appearance in drills is likely a prerequisite for playing Sunday against the Eagles, which has been expected of the defensive lineman all along. All developments, positive or otherwise, are contingent upon the recovery of the sprained MCL in his right knee.

Campbell (knee) is out for Sunday's game against Oakland.
Campbell has been targeting a Week 8 return all along, so his absence was expected this week.
Wed Oct 15 201421:20Campbell (knee) didn't practice Wednesday
Campbell (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, the Cardinals' official site reports.
While Campbell was absent from traditional practice, he began jogging again this week. Meanwhile, coach Bruce Arians mentioned Monday that there's a "slim chance" Campbell plays Sunday in Oakland, but the words are merely wishful thinking until the defensive end takes part in some drills. A more reasonable expectation is a return in Week 8 against the Eagles.

Campbell (knee) is expected back for the Cardinals' Week 8 matchup against the Eagles, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports.
Coach Bruce Arians reiterated Tuesday night that Campbell "probably" won't be ready to face the Raiders this Sunday, but he's optimistic the team will have its Pro Bowl defensive end back Oct. 26. Campbell was on the receiving end of an illegal chop block in Week 5, which resulted in a sprained MCL.

Coach Bruce Arians said Monday that there's a "slim chance" Campbell returns to action Sunday against the Raiders, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Sure, Campbell was given a prognosis of 1-to-3 weeks on the sideline due to the MCL sprain suffered in Week 5 at Denver. However, as the linchpin of the Cardinals' pass rush, not to mention the defense as a whole, the team's medical and training staff will have the final say on the matter, meaning precaution will likely rule the day.

Campbell (knee) suffered an MCL strain Sunday and is expected to miss 1-3 weeks, azcentral.com reports.
Campbell was victim to an illegal chop-block Sunday against the Broncos and will now miss some action. However, the defensive end should feel fortunate he only strained his MCL, a relatively minor injury when it comes to knee problems. While he's sidelined, Kareem Martin, Tommy Kelly and Frostee Rucker should play the majority of the Cardinals' snaps at both defensive end positions.

Campbell suffered an MCL injury to his right knee during Sunday's game in Denver and is now expected to be sidelined for three or four weeks, Darren Urban of azcardinals.com reports.
Campbell was injured by a chop block from Broncos' offensive tackle Ryan Clady, which nullified a 77-yard touchdown pass Sunday. The Cardinals' defensive end could now be out for up to a month, representing another considerable blow to Arizona's stout front-seven. Campbell totaled 16 tackles (all solo) and one sack in three games prior to suffering Sunday's MCL ailment.

Campbell produced four solo tackles and one tackle for loss in Sunday's win versus the 49ers, while logging 62-of-64 defensive snaps, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
After three games, Campbell has tallied just one outing befitting of his exceptional talent, at least production-wise, as he sits with 14 solo tackles and one sack entering the Cardinals' Week 4 bye. However, his presence has been especially felt versus the ground game, with no opponent to date surpassing 82 yards rushing en route to the fourth-best run defense (71.7 yards per game) in the NFL. Expect the three-down lineman to put up his typical line as the season winds along.

Campbell accrued 10 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack in Sunday's win versus the Giants in New York.
Among Cardinals defensive linemen, Campbell played a team-high 66-of-72 defensive snaps, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports. In any case, the performance was a welcome relief, after he was blanked in the Week 1 box score. Because this year's defense is without a number of 2013 stalwarts -- Darnell Dockett (knee), Daryl Washington (suspension), Karlos Dansby (to Cleveland via free agency), and John Abraham (concussion) -- Campbell must be his usual disruptive self for the Cardinals to survive the losses.

Thu Oct 17 201308:20Calais Campbell says he's ready to go
Cardinals RE Calais Campbell (neck) is expected to play in Thursday night's game against the Seahawks.
It's a relief considering Campbell was stretchered off the field with numbness and tingling in his extremities just four days ago. After undergoing CT scans and MRIs Sunday night, he was fully cleared. If Campbell is a surprise late scratch, Ronald Talley will get the start.

Tue Oct 15 201319:03Calais Campbell (neck) practices Tuesday
RE Calais Campbell (neck) returned to Cardinals practice Tuesday, getting in a limited session.
It puts Campbell on track to play Thursday against the Seahawks, but it's quite possible he'll end up a game-time decision. The best course of action may be holding Campbell out and giving him 10 days to rest up for Week 8.

Sun Oct 13 201321:22Calais Campbell expected to be okay
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports doctors believe Cardinals RE Calais Campbell will be "sore but OK" after Sunday's Week 6 neck injury.

Sun Sep 8 201308:27Cardinals RE Campbell battling quad issue
Cardinals RE Calais Campbell suffered a quadriceps injury on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's opener against the Rams.
Campbell was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday's session altogether. If not for J.J. Watt, Campbell would be in the discussion as the best 3-4 defensive end in the game. His loss would be a big one. If Campbell were to miss, some combo of Ronald Talley, Matt Shaughnessy, and Frostee Rucker would fill in. It'd be a boon to Daryl Richardson's Week 1 outlook.

Wed May 22 201308:56Cardinals DEs allowed to be more aggressive
Cardinals DEs Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett are allowed to be more "aggressive" and "create penetration" in DC Todd Bowles' new defense.
"They want us to shove (offensive linemen) back and be able to shed blocks quicker and make tackles in the backfield, which I think Dockett and myself would be very, very good at," said Campbell. "We're very athletic." Campbell didn't have any troubles in previous DC Ray Horton's "two-gap" scheme, but Dockett was openly displeased. Campbell has a chance to be an even bigger star. The 6-foot-8, 300-pound 26-year-old has 14.5 sacks and a J.J. Watt-esque 18 batted passes over the last two seasons.

Mon Nov 26 201213:17Whiz expects Campbell back for Week 13
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt expects LE Calais Campbell (calf) back for Week 13 against the Jets.
Campbell said he'd be back for Week 12, so take this with a minor grain of salt. However, coaches are usually more realistic about injuries than players. The two games Campbell has missed since the Cardinals' Week 10 bye are one more than he missed through his first four NFL seasons. His return will be bad news for Mark Sanchez.

Mon Nov 19 201214:55Calais Campbell expects to return this week
Cardinals LE Calais Campbell (calf) expects to return for Week 12.
Per the Cardinals' official website, Campbell is "confident" he'll be ready to play against the Rams. The Cardinals managed to create an impressive amount of havoc in Campbell's absence in Sunday's loss in Atlanta, but are an infinitely better unit with Campbell in the fold.
