Fri Nov 28 201408:19Fitzpatrick has had good week of practice
Fitzpatrick has had a good week of practice, according to head coach Bill O'Brien, the Houston Chronicle reports. "I always say, that needs to carry over to the game, but I've been really impressed with how Ryan has practiced this week," said O'Brien.
With the Texans preparing for the Titans, a team that ranks last in the NFL in rushing defense, it's hard to imagine O'Brien scheming up a pass-heavy game plan this week. As the reports come out that O'Brien expects Arian Foster (groin) to play this week, that only fuels the belief that Fitzpatrick will be a game manager in Week 13.

With Ryan Mallett on IR, Fitzpatrick will return as the Texans' starting QB on Sunday against the Titans, ESPN.com reports.
Fitzpatrick, who was benched following the Texans' Week 10 bye week, thus regains the team's starting assignment after giving way to Mallett in the team's last two games. He'll be backed up by Tom Savage on Sunday, with Thad Lewis having been signed to serve as the team's No. 3 QB. In a week with no NFL teams on bye, Fitzpatrick -- who has compiled an 11:8 TD:INT ratio in nine games -- isn't a high-percentage play in most formats, though he's an option for deep-leaguers scrambling for Week 13 QB depth.

With Ryan Mallett out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, Fitzpatrick is expected to start at quarterback for the Texans on Sunday against the Titans, the Houston Chronicle reports.
With Tom Savage the only other quarterback on the team's roster, the Texans may add another signal-caller, but Mallett's injury -- suffered in his second start for the team -- appears to set the stage to afford Fitzpatrick with another chance to helm the 5-6 Texans' offense.

Fitzpatrick's teammate, Ryan Mallett, will draw the start at QB when the Texans return to action against the Browns on November 16, the team's official site reports.
With a 4-5 mark, the Texans -- who are on bye this week -- will turn to the strong-armed Mallett in the hopes of sparking the team's passing game. Per the Houston Chronicle, coach Bill O'Brien indicated that Mallett will be given a full shot to hold on to the starting assignment, with Fitzpatrick (who checks in with an 11:8 TD:INT ratio to date) thus relegated to backup duty for the foreseeable future.

Head coach Bill O'Brien said the Texans' offense needs a "spark" and he's considering replacing Fitzpatrick as the starting quarterback, the Houston Chronicle reports. "Schematically, position changes, things like that," O'Brien said at NRG Stadium, referring to potential changes. "It's not anything that we've come to a decision on at this point."
On several occasions this season, O'Brien has emphatically stated that Fitzpatrick was his quarterback, but the coach has not been as firm following Sunday's loss to the Eagles. If he does make a quarterback change, this might be a good time for it, when the Texans are heading into a bye week. It would give backup Ryan Mallett a significant amount of time to prepare for Houston's next opponent, the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.

Head coach Bill O'Brien said he'll "evaluate everything" about the team's inconsistent offense, including Fitzpatrick, the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Brien refuses to pin the blame for Houston's up-and-down offense on one player, but will take the bye week to evaluate every little thing about the offensive unit.

Fitzpatrick completed 13 of 27 passes for 203 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, while also adding 49 rushing yards on six carries during Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
Fitzpatrick connected with only five receivers and wideout DeAndre Hopkins was the only one to have more than two catches. Fitzpatrick has never been much of an upside fantasy play, as he's failed to reach 290 yards in every game this season and his two touchdowns tied a season-high. Running back Arian Foster, who caught one of Fitzpatrick's touchdown passes, suffered a groin injury in the game, which may force him to miss some time. If he's unable to recover during the team's Week 10 bye, Fitzpatrick may need to shoulder more of the offensive load in Week 11 against the Browns.

Fitzpatrick completed 19 of 35 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown, while adding 12 rushing yards on four carries Sunday against the Titans.
Arian Foster absolutely dominated the Titans' defense, racking up 173 total yards and three touchdowns (including Fitzpatrick's lone TD pass), which didn't leave much for Fitzpatrick to do. He threw 23 of his 35 passes to wideouts DeAndre Hopkins (five catches for 95 yards) and Andre Johnson (seven catches for 55 yards), but failed to throw for multiple scores for the sixth time in eight games. Up next is a Week 9 matchup against an Eagles defense that has been susceptible to big games from opposing offenses this season.

Head coach Bill O'Brien once again stood by Fitzpatrick as the team's starting quarterback, the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Brien is having to answer questions weekly about his starting quarterback after Fitzpatrick's uneven performance through seven games. The coach said Fitzpatrick is the starter, but also mentioned backup Ryan Mallett in his response, indicating that "we're going to continue to work with both of these guys in practice, and we'll see how it improves."

Fitzpatrick completed 21-of-32 passes for 262 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception in Monday's 30-23 loss to the Steelers.
Fitzpatrick had a tipped pass picked off during the Steelers' 24-point barrage at the end of the second quarter. He otherwise played a decent game, though the plodding Houston offense is still struggling to sustain drives, especially when forced to play from behind. For a second straight week, one of Fitzpatrick's wide receivers lost a comeback-killing fumble in the fourth quarter, but the Texans did bounce back to pull within seven points in the final two minutes. Despite having solid weapons around him, Fitzpatrick has not recorded a 300-yard or three-touchdown game so far this season.

Head coach Bill O'Brien reaffirmed that Fitzpatrick is Houston's starting quarterback, the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Brien is getting questioned about Fitzpatrick's disjointed play through six weeks, but remains confident in the signal-caller. The coach feels there's improvement needed in several phases of the game, including better pass protection. He feels when not under duress, Fitzpatrick has been good.

Fitzpatrick completed 15-of-23 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown, with one lost fumble and no interceptions in Thursday's 33-28 loss to the Colts.
The fumble was a bad one that ended the Texans' attempt at a game-winning drive. Fitzpatrick otherwise played a decent game, but he wasn't nearly as efficient as his statistics indicate, as he took five sacks and struggled on third downs. The Texans quite clearly prefer to run the ball, with Fitzpatrick averaging just 26.7 pass attempts per game. Even facing a weak Pittsburgh defense, he won't be a great option next week.

Fitzpatrick (calf) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Colts, the Texans' official site reports.
With an average of 211 passing yards and a 5:6 TD:INT ratio through five games to date, Fitzpatrick isn't a high-percentage fantasy play these days, but he's out there for those in deeper formats who need him this week.

Fitzpatrick (calf) is listed as probable for Thursday's game against the Colts, the Texans' official site reports.
Fitzpatrick will be out there if you need him Thursday, but with an average of 211 passing yards and a 5:6 TD:INT ratio through five games to date, he's far from an elite fantasy option at the QB position.

Fitzpatrick (calf) was listed as a full participant in Tuesday's practice.
While Fitzpatrick shows up on the Texans' injury report this week, he was able to get in a full session both Monday and Tuesday, so consider him on track to start Thursday's game against the Colts.

Fitzpatrick completed 16-of-25 passes for 154 yards, but he threw one interception and rushed only three times for three yards Sunday against the Cowboys.
Fitzpatrick connected with six different receivers, with wideouts Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins the only ones to catch more than two passes. It was his first game this season without throwing a touchdown pass, and he has an unsightly 2:6 TD:INT ratio over his last two games. Up next is a Week 6 matchup against a Colts defense giving up over 250 passing yards per week on average, though they held Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to only 235 on Sunday.

Fitzpatrick completed 25-of-37 passes for 268 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions Sunday against the Bills. He also had 14 rushing yards on six carries and recovered his own fumble.
Fitzpatrick connected with seven different receivers, throwing a team-high 10 passes to Arian Foster while connecting with DeAndre Hopkins on a 35-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. He has now thrown a single touchdown in three of four games this season, while throwing five interceptions in the last two weeks. He's not much of a high-upside quarterback despite the excellent receiving options at his disposal, and that doesn't figure to change much in Week 5 at the Cowboys.

Fitzpatrick completed 20-of-34 passes for 289 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions Sunday against the Giants, while also adding seven carries for 34 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.
With Arian Foster out due to a hamstring injury, Fitzpatrick threw 15 more passes than he did in Week 2 against the Raiders. He hadn't done much on the ground in the first two games of the season, but that all changed Sunday and was capped off by a one-yard touchdown with two minutes left in the game. Foster sat after being a game-time decision Sunday, so it's possible that he could return in Week 4 against the Bills, which would take some pressure off Fitzpatrick to do so much with his arm.

Fitzpatrick completed 14-of-19 passes for 139 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-14 win at Oakland.
Fitzpatrick didn't need to do much, as Arian Foster did most of the heavy lifting, rushing for 138 yards on 28 carries. Through the first couple of weeks, it looks like Houston is content on running the ball and playing good defense, which is limiting Fitzpatrick's opportunities.
Sun Sep 7 201420:46Fitzpatrick completed 14-of-22 passes for 206 yards and touchdow...
Fitzpatrick completed 14-of-22 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown, while also adding 10 rushing yards on four carries Sunday against the Redskins.
Fitzpatrick completed passes to only five receivers, with wideouts Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins the only ones to catch more than two. The Texans fell behind 6-0 in the second quarter, but Fitzpatrick answered back with a 76-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins on the next series to give them the lead for good. With a comfortable lead in hand, the running game took over, which limited Fitzpatrick's pass attempts. That could be the case in Week 2 as well, as the Texans face a Raiders team that allowed 212 yards on the ground to the Jets on Sunday.
