Fitzpatrick has had a good week of practice, according to head coach Bill O'Brien, the Houston Chronicle reports. "I always say, that needs to carry over to the game, but I've been really impressed with how Ryan has practiced this week," said O'Brien.

With the Texans preparing for the Titans, a team that ranks last in the NFL in rushing defense, it's hard to imagine O'Brien scheming up a pass-heavy game plan this week. As the reports come out that O'Brien expects Arian Foster (groin) to play this week, that only fuels the belief that Fitzpatrick will be a game manager in Week 13.

With Ryan Mallett on IR, Fitzpatrick will return as the Texans' starting QB on Sunday against the Titans, ESPN.com reports.

Fitzpatrick, who was benched following the Texans' Week 10 bye week, thus regains the team's starting assignment after giving way to Mallett in the team's last two games. He'll be backed up by Tom Savage on Sunday, with Thad Lewis having been signed to serve as the team's No. 3 QB. In a week with no NFL teams on bye, Fitzpatrick -- who has compiled an 11:8 TD:INT ratio in nine games -- isn't a high-percentage play in most formats, though he's an option for deep-leaguers scrambling for Week 13 QB depth.

With Ryan Mallett out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, Fitzpatrick is expected to start at quarterback for the Texans on Sunday against the Titans, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Fitzpatrick connected with only five receivers and wideout DeAndre Hopkins was the only one to have more than two catches. Fitzpatrick has never been much of an upside fantasy play, as he's failed to reach 290 yards in every game this season and his two touchdowns tied a season-high. Running back Arian Foster, who caught one of Fitzpatrick's touchdown passes, suffered a groin injury in the game, which may force him to miss some time. If he's unable to recover during the team's Week 10 bye, Fitzpatrick may need to shoulder more of the offensive load in Week 11 against the Browns.

Fitzpatrick completed 19 of 35 passes for 227 yards and one touchdown, while adding 12 rushing yards on four carries Sunday against the Titans.

Arian Foster absolutely dominated the Titans' defense, racking up 173 total yards and three touchdowns (including Fitzpatrick's lone TD pass), which didn't leave much for Fitzpatrick to do. He threw 23 of his 35 passes to wideouts DeAndre Hopkins (five catches for 95 yards) and Andre Johnson (seven catches for 55 yards), but failed to throw for multiple scores for the sixth time in eight games. Up next is a Week 9 matchup against an Eagles defense that has been susceptible to big games from opposing offenses this season.

With Arian Foster out due to a hamstring injury, Fitzpatrick threw 15 more passes than he did in Week 2 against the Raiders. He hadn't done much on the ground in the first two games of the season, but that all changed Sunday and was capped off by a one-yard touchdown with two minutes left in the game. Foster sat after being a game-time decision Sunday, so it's possible that he could return in Week 4 against the Bills, which would take some pressure off Fitzpatrick to do so much with his arm.

That could be the case in Week 2 as well, as the Texans face a Raiders team that allowed 212 yards on the ground to the Jets on Sunday.
