Sat Jan 29 2011 | 12:28 | Walden only Packer to miss practice Saturday |
Packers OLB Erik Walden (ankle) was the only Green Bay player to miss practice Saturday. |
Walden, the starter across from Clay Matthews, did not practice the entire week. Frank Zombo (knee), Walden's backup, was limited in his return to practice Friday. Both players should be OK to play in next Sunday's Super Bowl, though backup Diyral Briggs could be in line for increased snaps. |

Friday will be the team's first Super Bowl practice, as they'll practice Friday, Saturday and Sunday before heading to Dallas on Monday. Walden should be OK to play with the Super Bowl still so far away, but if he can't go, Diyral Briggs and Frank Zombo will step up. |

Tue Jan 4 2011 | 16:02 | Erik Walden explodes in Week 17 |
Packers OLB Erik Walden racked up 11 tackles (10 solo) and two sacks in the team's Week 17 win over Chicago. |
Perhaps it was just the Bears' sieve of an offensive line in this game, but Walden was a one-man wrecking crew in his second NFL start. Most of the credit goes to DC Dom Capers' scheme. He's shuffled through an array of street free agent-caliber outside linebackers like Frank Zombo and Walden to direct a defense that led the NFC in regular season sacks. Walden is likely to start again opposite Clay Matthews in the Wild Card round. |

He'll provide depth with the Packers' slew of injuries to their linebacking corps but really shouldn't be more than a special teams contributor. |

Dolphins re-signed OLB Erik Walden. |
A bit player at best on defense, Walden will focus on special teams in his return to the Fins. He averaged over a special teams tackle per game in six 2009 appearances, though Miami's coverage fared fine without him in Week 1. |

Walden was a core special teamer for the Fins, but never made an impact on defense. his ability to run down kicks could still come in handy elsewhere. |
