Wed Dec 10 201421:22Wright (ribs) limited participant in practice Wednesday
Wright (ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Wright picked up a new ailment in Week 14, which places his availability for Sunday's game at Carolina in question. However, with 51 tackles (34 solo) and no other counting stats on the ledger, the strong safety isn't exactly a palatable option for IDP owners embroiled in the fantasy playoffs.

Wright (shoulder) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Lions.
Wright logged a full week of practice, and as expected, will suit up to provide Tampa Bay with depth in the secondary when they square off against Matthew Stafford and the Lions.
Sun Nov 30 201412:07Wright (shoulder) listed as active Sunday against Bengals
Wright (shoulder) is listed as active Sunday against the Bengals, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
After injuring his shoulder last Sunday, Wright took the practice field all week, which culminated with an uncapped showing Friday. As a result, he'll man his typical spot at strong safety, from which he'll seek additions to his 47 tackles (34 solo) on the season.

Wright (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
Wright practiced all week, including a full practice Friday, so it seems that he has a good chance to stick with the starting lineup Sunday.

Wright left Sunday's game against the Bears with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return.
Wright had two solo tackles before departing. He's had a few big tackle games this season, but has been inconsistent overall, and hasn't made many big plays (no sacks, no interceptions).
Wed Sep 3 201410:08Wright (back) re-signed with Buccaneers on Wednesday
Wright (back) re-signed with the Buccaneers on Wednesday.
Wright was released by the team over the weekend, but rejoins Tampa Bay's secondary in light of a roster spot being freed up by Charles Sims (ankle) landing on the injured reserve/designated to return list. As a reserve safety, Wright is expected to backup Mark Barron this season while being reunited with his former coach in Chicago, Lovie Smith.
Sat Aug 30 201415:13Wright (back) released by Buccaneers on Saturday
Wright (back) was released by the Buccaneers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The former Bear won't be kept under by his old coach, Lovie Smith. However, Wright is coming off a 101-tackle, two interception campaign, so he should find a home somewhere before the regular season begins.
Tue Apr 1 201418:05Major Wright visiting the Buccaneers
Free agent S Major Wright is visiting the Bucs.
According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Bucs hope to hammer out a deal. Wright is coming off a rough season for the Bears, but would be reuniting with former coach Lovie Smith in Tampa. Wright was better under Smith in 2010-12.

Fri Feb 28 201416:43Bears expected to let Major Wright walk
The Bears are not expected to re-sign free agent SS Major Wright.
Wright showed playmaking ability during his first three NFL seasons, but his coverage and tackling fell off a surprising cliff in 2013. Still only 25, Wright would be smart to pursue one-year deals to rehab his market value for 2015.

Fri Jan 31 201409:47Bears looking for help at safety position
ESPN Chicago considers the Bears' need to upgrade the safety position to be "urgent."
SS Major Wright is an impending free agent, while FS Chris Conte has one year left on his rookie deal. Both were bottom-five safeties in Pro Football Focus' end-of-season ratings, with Wright finishing dead last. Due to the Bears' pitiful front-seven this past season, Wright and Conte were asked to make too many stops. Both missed their fair share of tackles. Chicago doesn't have anybody waiting in the wings at the position ready to take over as a starter.

Fri Dec 6 201323:18Major Wright returns to full practice
Bears SS Major Wright (hamstring) returned to a full practice Friday.
Barring setbacks, Wright should be in the starting lineup on Monday night against Dallas after missing Week 13. Wright has been an IDP dynamo when healthy this season, averaging 6.9 tackles per game with two forced fumbles and two interceptions. 57 of Wright's 76 tackles have been of the solo variety.

Wed Jan 30 201301:45Major Wright gets bump in 2013 salary
Bears SS Major Wright's 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives.
Wright started all 16 games in 2012 and was a key part of Chicago's turnover-forcing defensive backfield. He set new career-highs in tackles (71), passes defensed (eight), and interceptions (four), while also scoring a touchdown. Wright enters the final year of his rookie deal and could be a candidate for extension. The Bears defense shouldn't change too much under new DC Mel Tucker.

Sat Oct 27 201210:35Bears defense not letting up the deep ball
There have been only two completions of 30 or more yards against the Bears defense over the first six games.
Bears cornerback Charles Tillman credits the improved play of safeties Chris Conte and Major Wright and the work of the coaching staff for all but eliminating the busted coverages that previously plagued the defense. "Just talking from a safety standpoint, Major Wright and Chris Conte have done a phenomenal job of not giving up the big plays and letting guys get behind them like they did last year," Tillman said. So far this season, Pro Football Focus has Wright as a top-10 safety.
