Sun Aug 26 2012 | 18:35 | Corey Peters placed on reserve/PUP |
Falcons placed DT Corey Peters (foot) on the reserve/PUP list. |
Peters had started 30-of-32 games since the Falcons drafted him in the third round of the 2010 draft. They'll now have to roll with an improving Peria Jerry next to Jonathan Babineaux at defensive tackle. Peters will be eligible to return the active roster following Week 6. |

Tue Aug 21 2012 | 11:42 | Corey Peters still out indefinitely |
Falcons DT Corey Peters (foot) remains without a timetable for a return. |
"Right now, Corey is only working on the side (with the training staff) and only working in the training room basically in a rehabilitation mode," coach Mike Smith said. Peters has yet to practice in camp, making him a candidate for the reserve/PUP list. If Peters isn't ready for Week 1, the Falcons are expected to roll the dice with first-round bust Peria Jerry - who's supposedly having a strong camp - in his absence. |

Wed Jul 25 2012 | 18:14 | Corey Peters to miss much of training camp |
Falcons DT Corey Peters will miss at least three weeks of training camp after injuring his foot in the offseason program. |
Details of the injury were never revealed, but he's been nursing the foot injury since at least late May. It sounds like a fracture. Peters, 24, broke out last season with 26 tackles and three sacks, starting 15 games. He is an integral component of Atlanta's tough run defense, so his return will be key. |

Falcons DT Corey Peters is expected to sit out until training camp after suffering a foot injury earlier this offseason. |
There are no details on the injury. Peters will miss the remainder of OTAs as well as the June 19-21 mandatory minicamp. The 2010 third-rounder has started 30-of-32 regular season games since entering the league. |

Thu Dec 15 2011 | 21:16 | Falcons DT Peters exits with knee injury |
Falcons DT Corey Peters was forced from Thursday's game against the Jaguars in the second quarter with a knee injury. |
Peters has battled knee soreness off and on since a preseason injury. He's still been a nice complement to Jonathan Babineaux for the majority of the season. Peters is officially questionable to return. |

Mon Nov 7 2011 | 15:03 | Corey Peters suffers minor knee injury |
Falcons DT Corey Peters was forced from Sunday's win over the Colts with a knee injury, but coach Mike Smith does not expect him to miss any time. |
Peters notched his third sack in four games before going down, and possibly would have stayed in the game had the Falcons not put the Colts away so early. He may miss some practice time, but should be good to go against the Saints. |

Wed Sep 14 2011 | 17:50 | Falcons DT Peters resumes practicing |
Falcons DT Corey Peters (knee) has resumed practicing. |
He's back in the nick of time with Jonathan Babineaux (torn MCL) expected to miss 3-5 weeks. Peters was a starter all last year, though he's not exactly an impact player. Atlanta will be vulnerable to the run Sunday night against Philly. |

Fri Sep 9 2011 | 16:15 | Falcons rule out DT Peters with knee injury |
Falcons DT Corey Peters (knee) has been ruled out for Week 1. |
Peters has been out since the second preseason game. He was one of Atlanta's weakest front seven defenders, so the absence doesn't help Matt Forte's matchup much. The Falcons will start gap-shooters Jon Babineaux and Peria Jerry instead. |

Mon Sep 5 2011 | 22:52 | Corey Peters 'close,' but losing his job? |
Falcons DT Corey Peters is "close" to returning from the knee injury he suffered in Atlanta's second preseason game. |
Peters is still listed as a starter on the Falcons' website depth chart, but we wonder if missing the last three weeks will end up costing him the job. Former first-round pick Peria Jerry capitalized with a big training camp and a preseason sack. Peters was one of Atlanta's weak spots in run defense last season. |

Sun Aug 14 2011 | 19:13 | Peters won't require surgery on injured knee |
Falcons DT Corey Peters will not require surgery on his left knee after being carted off the practice field Sunday. |
Peters won't play against Jacksonville this week, and he may not suit up the rest of the preseason. The second-year defensive tackle avoided a worst-case scenario, though, and the Falcons have depth with Peria Jerry coming on strong. |

Fri Aug 20 2010 | 08:20 | Corey Peters set for MRI on knee |
Falcons third-round DT Corey Peters will have an MRI Friday morning on his injured left knee. |
"I kind of got doubled teamed and my knee popped," said Peters. Although the initial diagnosis was a sprain, that description doesn't sound good. Peters was pushing to be the Falcons' No. 3 defensive tackle behind Jonathan Babineaux and Peria Jerry. |

Fri Apr 23 2010 | 21:31 | Falcons draft Corey Peters |
Falcons selected Kentucky DT Corey Peters with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. |
Peters made a ton of pre-draft visits, and we could never really figure out why. A second-team All-SEC selection as a senior, he lacks truly difference-making size (6'3/300) and was not overly productive as a senior (12 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks). Peters projects as a rotational gap shooter in Atlanta's 4-3 system. He's insurance behind Peria Jerry and Jon Babineaux. |
