Citing a senior club official, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported Ravens LE Arthur Jones' undisclosed illness could cost him "a matter of days -- or months," depending on Jones' recovery.
As Sal Pal noted, this makes six different defensive starters from last year's Super Bowl champs entering Week 1. There have been no details on Jones' illness, but there has been a bit of a rash of staph infection going around the league. The Ravens will attempt to compensate with Marcus Spears at left end.

Ravens DE Arthur Jones will compete for the team's starting left end job in training camp.
Outgoing LE Cory Redding landed in Indy with old Ravens DC Chuck Pagano. Jones is also a better run defender, making him a superior early-down option.

Thu Aug 4 201119:52Arthur Jones enters starting lineup at LE
Arthur Jones has moved into the Ravens' starting left end position, ahead of Cory Redding.
Jones wasn't active for a single game in his rookie season, but there's no questioning his ability. He was widely considered a first-round prospect before medical concerns dropped him to the fifth round of the draft two Aprils ago. The left end spot in Baltimore's defense involves a lot of rotating, but Jones looks to be in the driver's seat to play there on early downs.
