Thu Aug 11 201121:11Seahawks LT Okung's X-rays show up negative
X-rays came back negative for a fracture on Seahawks LT Russell Okung's left ankle during Thursday night's preseason opener.
The ankle isn't broken, but a sprain or high ankle sprain remains a possibility. Coach Pete Carroll should have more after the game. The Seahawks can't afford to suffer through another injury-plagued season from Okung, a difference maker for their offense. They've got enough problems at quarterback already.

Thu Aug 11 201120:16Seahawks LT Okung carted off with leg injury
Seahawks LT Russell Okung was carted off the field with a left leg injury in the first quarter of Thursday night's preseason opener.
The extent is unclear, but this has the potential to be a big concern for Seattle. The injury is to the same leg that helped cripple Okung's rookie season, marred by recurring high left ankle sprains. We should have an update by Saturday at the latest. The Seahawks' backup left tackle is Tyler Polumbus.

Sun Jan 2 201121:40Okung aggravates ankle injury
Seahawks LT Russell Okung left Sunday's game late in the first half after appearing to aggravate his high left ankle sprain.
The rookie aggravated the injury last week but returned to the game, however, it's already cropped up on him again. Okung is Seattle's best lineman and his loss would be big. We'll update his condition when more is known. Chester Pitts is now in at LG, with Tyler Polumbus shifting over to fill Okung's LT spot.
Tue Dec 28 201012:02Okung not 100 percent but will play
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said LT Russell Okung (ankle) is not 100 percent, but he's not expected to miss any time.
Okung aggravated his ankle injury Sunday but was able to return after missing only a few plays. The sixth overall pick has dealt with high ankle sprains to both ankles this season, with the left one being more recent. Okung is a difference maker on the line, so the Seahawks will be hoping he'll start and finish Sunday's pivotal contest.

Mon Nov 22 201012:36Okung makes it through game OK
Seahawks LT Russell Okung (ankle) made it through Week 11 with no setbacks.
It's just the second time this season that he's been able to start and finish a game. The No. 6 overall pick kept Matt Hasselbeck clean, as the Saints failed to sack the Seahawks quarterback once, and Hasselbeck was able to complete over 70 percent of his passes and throw for 366 yards. Okung makes this team a lot better when he's able to take the field.

Fri Nov 12 201016:53Pete Carroll: Okung unlikely to play
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll acknowledged Friday that LT Russell Okung (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 10.
"He's not quite right," said Carroll. Seattle's offense -- if you're generous enough to call it that -- has been putrid with Okung out of the lineup. His continued absence particularly makes Marshawn Lynch an unexciting RB2.

The team took a week-by-week approach after Okung's previous ankle injury, and although the left tackle has yet to be ruled out for Week 8 against Oakland, we expect the team to be cautious with their prized pillar.

Russell Okung started Sunday's game at left tackle but left in the second quarter due to increasing soreness in his troublesome right ankle.
Coach Pete Carroll said Okung could have gone back in the game, but he decided to play it safe with the No. 6 overall pick. Sun Oct 3 201019:08Okung aggravates ankle injury in Week 4 loss
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll denied reports that LT Russell Okung reinjured his ankle during the Week 4 loss to the Rams, and maintains that his first-round pick could have gone back in the game.
"He didn't reinjure [the ankle], it just got more sore" said the Seattle head coach. With a Week 5 bye week on the horizon, Carroll opted to play it safe with his prized left tackle, and avoid a potential aggravation if Okung had played the entire game. Okung should be good to go by the time the team heads to Chicago Week 6, which would be a relief for owners of Matt Hasselbeck.
