New York often used Kerley in creative and gadgety ways; plays that Harvin is better suited for.

A strong Week 3 showing provided false hope, with Kerley since recording just seven receptions for 60 yards on 21 targets over the last four games. There isn't a ton of hope for his role to increase, as the 1-6 Jets would be wise to build the offense around WR Eric Decker, TE Jace Amaro and RB Chris Ivory, all players with much higher long-term ceilings than Kerley's.

With Eric Decker (hamstring) only able to make a token appearance, Kerley was the team's clear top option in the passing game. While he shouldn't be counted on for touchdowns or long gains, Kerley will see plenty of targets if Decker misses any time beyond Monday. Even if Decker returns, Kerley looks to be the second fiddle in a talent-lacking passing attack.

Kerley also caught the touchdown pass that wasn't - a 37-yard score that was washed out by a New York timeout called before the play. It's odd to see Kerley make a downfield play, as he's normally used on the shorter routes - significantly capping his fantasy upside. He's at Chicago for Week 3.

Kerley's game is working underneath as a possession receiver, as exhibited here. He's not a big touchdown scorer and doesn't offer much fantasy upside, though PPR players might look to him during thin weeks.

With Eric Decker (quad) sidelined, there was more to go around for Kerley, Stephen Hill and David Nelson, all of whom are jostling for snaps and targets behind the former Bronco. None of the three made much of an impression, but Kerley has the least to gain or lose, as he's seemingly locked in as the slot man. The illness Kerley dealt with a couple of weeks ago does not appear to be a lingering issue.
