Steelers GM Kevin Colbert has confirmed RT Marcus Gilbert is likely to shift to left tackle in 2012.
Free agent LT Max Starks' future is in doubt after he tore his ACL in Pittsburgh's Wild Card loss to the Broncos. A second-round pick in 2011, Gilbert started 13 games as a rookie. Gilbert and Starks graded out nearly identically in Pro Football Focus' season-ending rankings.

Tue Sep 13 201111:17Gilbert to get first crack at right tackle
Second-round rookie Marcus Gilbert will get the first shot at replacing RT Willie Colon (triceps).
Colon is expected to miss the rest of the season, opening up a gaping hole on the right side of Pittsburgh's line. The Steelers don't appear to have interest in free agents Flozell Adams and Max Starks, both of whom started for them last season. They'll roll the dice on the massive Gilbert, who was drafted specifically to serve as Colon's backup at right tackle. With left tackle Jonathan Scott struggling, pass protection is a concern for Ben Roethlisbeger.
