Hankerson (knee) could be activated from the Redskins' PUP list to practice this week.
Hankerson has been sidelined since tearing his ACL and LCL last November. While still recovering, Hankerson landed on the Redskins' PUP list to begin this season, but after sitting out six games, the wideout is now eligible to return to practice. That next step in Hankerson's eventual return could come as early as this week, although Hankerson may be hard-pressed to climb Washington's crowded depth chart at wide receiver.

Hankerson (knee) continues to ramp up his workouts and may be activated from the PUP in the coming weeks, the Washington Post reports.
Hankerson's role on the team is unclear once he's activated. He will likely be 4th or 5th on the depth chart and may bump Santana Moss or Aldrick Robinson.
Sat Aug 30 201417:19Hankerson placed on reserve/PUP list
Hankerson has been placed on the reserve/PUP list, which rules him out for the first six weeks of the season, CSN Washington reports.
Even if healthy, Hankerson would likely be no higher than fifth on the depth chart, with Pierre Garcon, Jackson and Andre Roberts locked in as the top three wideouts. A bunch of different things could happen by Week 7, but there's no guarantee Hankerson will even suit up for the Redskins this season, as the team may eventually opt for an injury settlement or outright release.

Hankerson (knee) will not play this preseason and is hopeful of avoiding the Redskins' PUP list to begin this season, ESPN Radio 980 in D.C. reports.
Hankerson says he's about two weeks away from being ready to practice, so he'll certainly be hard-pressed to make Washington's active regular season roster. With the wideout still recovering from knee ligament surgery last fall, players like Ryan Grant and Aldrick Robinson have passed Hankerson on the depth chart, while offseason additions DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts have pushed him back even further. With that in mind, Robinson faces an increasingly tough challenge to earn targets for the Redskins this season.
Sat Aug 16 201411:16Hankerson (knee) has not met with Dr
Hankerson (knee) has not met with Dr. James Andrews to receive clearance to practice, the Washington Post reports. Hankerson said he feels "pretty good" but not completely back to full speed.
There's a growing chance Hankerson will open the season the PUP list.

Hankerson (knee) will soon meet with renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews in hopes of receiving clearance to practice, The Washington Post reports.
Hankerson is still working his way back from surgery last fall to repair ligaments in his knee. Although he's now back to being able to run sprints, Hankerson will remain on the Redskins' PUP list until Dr. Andrews clears him for full activity. With that in mind, the wideout could begin practicing some time next week.
Thu Jul 31 201410:45Hankerson (knee) continues to sit out practice
Hankerson (knee) continues to sit out practice, but is running better and could be nearing a return, the Washington Post reports.
Hankerson has a long road to winning a roster spot. He is recovering from reconstructive knee surgery and needs to prove he is healthy and can be consistent on the field.

Leonard Hankerson (knee, active/PUP) has been cleared to resume a running program.
Hankerson missed Washington's offseason program and doesn't have a timetable to return. It remains possible that he opens 2014 on reserve/PUP. Hankerson is eight months removed from November ACL surgery.

Redskins placed WR Leonard Hankerson (knee) on the active/PUP list.
Hankerson tore his ACL and LCL in Week 11 and is questionable for the start of the season. He's squarely on the roster bubble. Joining him on the PUP list is OL Maurice Hurt, who reported out of shape for the second year in a row.

Tue Jul 8 201410:23Hankerson may open camp on active/PUP
Leonard Hankerson (knee) is a candidate to open training camp on active/PUP.
Hankerson is trying to return from Week 11 ACL and LCL tears. At the end of minicamp last month, Hankerson had progressed to sprinting up hills and doing lunges while dragging a weighted sled. He hopes to be cleared for the start of camp, but that seems optimistic after his availability for Week 1 was recently brought into question. Hankerson will simply be competing for a roster spot.

Wed Jun 11 201414:35Hankerson (knee) has 'couple months to go'
Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson (knee) said he has a "couple more months to go" in his rehab.
"Should be good by training camp, but you never know," Hankerson continued. The fourth-year receiver tore his ACL and LCL in Week 11. The Redskins have since added Andre Roberts and DeSean Jackson in free agency, and drafted Ryan Grant in the fourth round. Entering the final year of his rookie deal, HankTime is squarely on the roster bubble. He'll need a strong camp and preseason.

Sun May 25 201417:40Hankerson's health working against him
Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson may not be fully recovered from his LCL/ACL surgery until the start of training camp.
With a new coaching staff in D.C., Hankerson will be behind the eight ball when the Redskins open training camp. He's already below DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and Andre Roberts on the depth chart, while Santana Moss remains a useful spot player, and Ryan Grant was added in the draft. By September, it's quite possible Hankerson will be on the outside looking in at a roster spot.

Thu Nov 21 201317:56Leonard Hankerson (knee) out 7-9 months
Leonard Hankerson (knee, injured reserve) is expected to be sidelined 7-9 months as he recovers from surgery to his left ACL and LCL.
It puts HankTime's return date somewhere between July and September, meaning he's not a lock to be ready for training camp. Hankerson was initially believed to be dealing with "only" a torn LCL before his Thursday operation also turned up damage to his ACL. HankTime will be a candidate to begin 2014 on the reserve/PUP list, but that's certainly not a given. He could easily be ready for Week 1.

Thu Nov 21 201312:25Leonard Hankerson lands on IR
Redskins placed WR Leonard Hankerson (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Hankerson made major strides in his third NFL season, taking the starting "Z" receiver job away from Josh Morgan early on and never looking back. Through nine games, he was on pace to finish with 51 catches for 657 yards with five touchdowns. All those numbers would have been career-highs. Hankerson will be back for the final year of his rookie deal in 2014 and will be the favorite to start opposite Pierre Garcon once again. The rehab stemming from his LCL repair surgery won't be as complex as an ACL repair.

Wed Nov 20 201315:31Redskins WR Hankerson (knee) done for 2013
Leonard Hankerson needs surgery to repair the LCL in his left knee and is done for the season.
This was the expected outcome. Hankerson likely has a torn LCL. He went down in the first quarter of last Sunday's loss to the Eagles. HankTime had his best game of the season in Week 1, catching five passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns in garbage time. He caught a total of 30 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in his third season. Hankerson has a ton of ability but has battled drops and long bouts of inconsistency as a pro. He has one more year left on his rookie deal.

Mon Nov 18 201315:05Skins WR Hankerson may need knee surgery
Leonard Hankerson may need surgery to repair his left LCL injury.
The Redskins appear to be still waiting for the results of an MRI. HankTime could need a procedure if the LCL shows up as torn. The Redskins could then turn to Aldrick Robinson or Santana Moss as a starter opposite Pierre Garcon. Josh Morgan seems to have complained his way out of the picture.
