Mon Sep 19 201113:12Carimi has sprained knee
Bears RT Gabe Carimi has been diagnosed with a sprained knee.
That diagnosis could change quickly depending on MRI results. Carimi did not return to Sunday's loss against the Saints after departing in the second quarter. An extended absence for the Bears' first-round pick would be awful news for an offensive line that has allowed a league-worst 11 sacks through the season's first two weeks.

Sun Sep 18 201114:51Carimi leaves game with knee injury
Gabe Carimi was pulled from Sunday's Week 2 game after suffering a knee injury in the second quarter.
Carimi has been ruled out for the rest of the Bears' Week 2 tilt with the Saints. The Chicago medical staff should have an update on the severity of his injury in postgame.

Sun Aug 7 201123:34Bears announce their starting offensive line
Position coach Mike Tice declared the Bears' starting offensive line after practice Sunday night, and Gabe Carimi is the right tackle.
From the left, the front five is LT J'Marcus Webb, LG Chris Williams, C Roberto Garza, RG Lance Louis, and RT Carimi. Tice allowed that these are the starters, "unless they falter." Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Chris Spencer was not included after signing a contract paying him $3 million a year. Louis lost his starting job after the first month of last season for awful pass protection. Tice is banking that he'll improve.

Fri Jul 29 201114:43Bears give Carimi his rookie deal
Bears signed No. 29 overall pick OT Gabe Carimi to a four-year contract.
The 2010 Outland Trophy winner as the nation's best offensive lineman, Carimi is ready to play right away. In fact, he could very well end up starting at left tackle and protecting Jay Cutler's blind side. After the Bears allowed a league-worst 56 sacks a year ago, Carimi can only be an upgrade.
