Sun Oct 27 201320:23Jacquizz Rodgers barely plays behind S-Jax
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed two times for eight yards and caught two passes for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 8 loss at Arizona.
Over the previous five games, Rodgers averaged 16.4 touches per game. But with Steven Jackson (hamstring) finally back, Quizz was reduced to a change-of-pace man at best. It proved to be a major error as S-Jax had literally nothing to give, but the Falcons aren't going to sit their veteran down. Rodgers remains a hold because of Jackson's performance and injury concerns, but he won't be startable at Carolina in Week 9.

Sun Oct 20 201316:44Jacquizz Rodgers totals 62 yards, 2 TDs
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 16 yards on eight carries in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bucs, adding eight catches for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
Rodgers started and was used in a committee with Jason Snelling. He was featured in the passing game with Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) sidelined and finished with a team-high nine targets. Both of Rodgers touchdowns came in the red-zone on check downs from Matt Ryan. With Steven Jackson still out indefinitely, continue to view Rodgers as an RB3/FLEX option for next week's game against the Cardinals.

Tue Oct 8 201300:11Quizz totals 58 yards, 2 TDs in MNF loss
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Monday night's Week 5 loss to the Jets.
Quizz added 15 more yards on four receptions. Rodgers was bottled up with ease the entire first half as he consistently smashed his 5-foot-6 frame into the Jets' fearsome defensive line. The Atlanta offensive line also can't block anyone. It's arguably the worst in the league. Once the second half rolled around, Rodgers found some space around the edges. New York defensive backs helped him out by missing tackles, too. Rodgers started the game, but he'll likely head back to the bench in Week 7. Steven Jackson is expected back after the bye.

Tue Oct 1 201308:54Jacquizz Rodgers outplays Snelling again
Jacquizz Rodgers played on 46-of-76 snaps in Sunday night's loss to the Patriots.
Jason Snelling saw 32 snaps. Over the last two weeks, Quizz has out-snapped Snelling 89-68 and out-touched him 33-24. Rodgers has also shown more wiggle and improved finishing power on his runs. He's a better flex option than Snelling heading into Monday night's game against the Jets.

Mon Sep 30 201300:41Rodgers picks up 88 totals yards in Week 4
Jacquizz Rodgers had seven carries for 32 yards in Sunday night's Week 4 loss to New England.
He added six catches for 56 yards. Rodgers played ahead of Jason Snelling, but continues to lose both red-zone and short-yardage work. With the Falcons playing from behind, he was targeted six times in the passing game. Rodgers will be on the RB3/FLEX radar for next week's game with the Jets. He's currently on pace for 204 touches and 912 total yards.

Mon Sep 23 201308:27Jacquizz Rodgers racks up 43 snaps
Jacquizz Rodgers played on 43-of-71 snaps (60.5 percent) in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
Jason Snelling played on 34 snaps. They both ran surprisingly well in a tough spot at Miami, combining for 139 rushing yards on 29 carries (4.79 YPC). Rodgers did get the start and out-carried Snelling 18-11 and we would expect a similar split until Steven Jackson (thigh) returns. The Falcons host the Patriots in Week 4.

Wed Aug 14 201308:38Jacquizz will have a limited role
OC Dirk Koetter suggested that he doesn't see Jacquizz Rodgers getting many carries this season.
Even when Michael Turner was running with a refrigerator strapped to his back last year, the Falcons didn't give Rodgers much of a chance. He averaged just 5.8 rushes per game, a number that could even drop now that Steven Jackson is in town. Quizz's chances figure to come as a receiver. "We still have to get Quizz his touches whether if it's on kickoff returns, throwing it to him out of the backfield or the screen game," Koetter said. There's little more than weak handcuff appeal here.

Sun Jun 23 201318:49Jacquizz Rodgers believes his role is unclear
Jacquizz Rodgers acknowledged he isn't exactly sure of his role following the Falcons' addition of Steven Jackson.
Rodgers should still play plenty because he's a largely effective back and S-Jax is 30 years old, but his role isn't as defined as it was last season. Complementing less-versatile Michael Turner last year, Rodgers handled nearly 30 percent of the carries and played more snaps than the starter. "When I get in the game, I'm going to try to make my plays and try to get my number called more," said Quizz. "I'll try to make every carry and every catch count."

Sun Feb 24 201311:53Mike Smith: Quizz can handle all three downs
Coach Mike Smith says Jacquizz Rodgers "can handle all three downs" at running back.
"We thought he was only going to be a change of pace back," Smith said. "We found out very quickly that even though he is short, he is not little. He can handle all three downs and he does a very good job for us returning kicks." Rodgers did a fine job with his opportunities in 2012, but we feel he's best suited for passing down work. Atlanta is expected to eye a big back in free agency or the draft to replace Michael Turner.

Mon Jan 21 201310:05Jacquizz Rodgers not seen as every-down back
Fox Sports South doesn't envision Jacquizz Rodgers as an every-down go-to running back.
We don't either. Rodgers struggled mightily to run between the tackles all season long, and it showed yet again in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Michael Turner is likely to be a salary cap casualty this offseason unless he takes a sizable pay cut, so the Falcons are certain to be on the lookout for a bigger back to complement Rodgers as a scatback.

Sun Jan 20 201318:23Jacquizz Rodgers struggles in NFCCG
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 35 yards in the Falcons' NFC title game loss to the Niners.
He struggled running between the tackles, as usual, and wasn't involved in the passing game. Although Rodgers can make defenders miss when sprung into space, he lacks explosiveness without blocking-aided momentum and is panning out as a scatback only entering his third NFL season. Rodgers will be back on his minimum base salary in 2013, but we don't expect a significant leap in production, even if the Falcons cut Michael Turner. Rodgers, who turns 23 in February, finished 2012 as the No. 36 overall fantasy running back.

Thu Jan 17 201310:32Jacquizz Rodgers not an every-down back
ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests Jacquizz Rodgers is "too small" to be an every-down back.
Rodgers is listed at 5'6/196, but size isn't the only concern here. On 151 career carries, he's managed just 3.75 yards per tote. And if the Falcons thought he could effectively carry the load, he would have taken fully over for the washed up Michael Turner already. Expect Atlanta to target a running back relatively early in April's draft.

Sun Jan 13 201316:35Quizz totals 72 yards while sparking Falcons
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 10 times for 64 yards and added two receptions for eight yards in Sunday's Divisional round victory over the Seahawks.
The Falcons offensive line bullied Seattle's front seven in a dominant first half, and Quizz provided the hightlight with a powerful, career-long 45-yard run that featured a steam-rolling of FS Earl Thomas. Look for Atlanta to continue their equal timeshare between Rodgers and Michael Turner versus the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

Sun Dec 30 201218:01Quizz totals 78 yards in Week 17 loss
Jacquizz Rodgers led the Falcons with eight receptions for 50 yards and added five rushes for 28 yards versus the Bucs in Week 17.
Quizz saw considerably more action than Michael Turner as Atlanta's starters played the entire game. The passing-down specialist closed out his second regular season with 94 carries, 362 rushing yards (3.85 YPC), 53 receptions, 402 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. Expect Rodgers and Turner to continue splitting touches throughout the playoffs.

Sun Dec 23 201201:32Jacquizz Rodgers plays sparingly in Week 16
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed six times for 14 yards in Saturday's win over the Lions.
He added one catch for 11 yards. Rodgers played behind Michael Turner and wasn't involved in the passing game for the second consecutive week. He remains no more than a flex option for Week 17 against the Bucs.

Jacquizz Rodgers caught six passes for 43 yards, adding 21 yards on the ground on four touches, against the Panthers.

Fri Nov 30 201200:57Quizz runs for 43 yards on eight carries
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 43 yards on eight carries in Thursday night's Week 13 victory over the Saints.
Rodgers added two catches for minus-four yards and returned just one kick for 22 yards. No. 3 back Jason Snelling caught four passes for 28 yards out of the backfield. Michael Turner and Quizz combined for 71 yards and a touchdown on five carries on the team's opening drive but were mostly quiet after that. Rodgers' fantasy value takes a major hit due to Turner handling all goal-line work.
