McCoy will probably miss multiple games. Bowers was playing about 25 snaps per game behind LE Michael Bennett and RE Adrian Clayborn in the first five weeks, recording six tackles and no sacks. He's likely to prove a big drop-off in run defense from McCoy, and play in a rotation with early-down DT Frank Okam. | ||||||

So far, so good on his much-maligned knee. Bowers plummeted on draft day after undergoing knee surgery following his senior season, but he's had no pain so far and is competing for the starting left end job with Michael Bennett. The highly-talented Bowers has a real chance to make the entire league regret passing on him if he can sustain health. | ||||||

Bowers, who fell in the draft due to knee concerns, reportedly looked "explosive" and "better than you might expect." The Bucs will field an awful lot of young talent on their defensive line. DT Gerald McCoy should draw the bulk of the double teams, allowing Bowers to be single-blocked most of the time. If he stays healthy, we'd bet on Bowers leading the team in sacks. | ||||||
