Thu Nov 24 201111:43Da'Quan Bowers set to start for Bucs
Second-round rookie DL Da'Quan Bowers is expected to start Sunday's game against the Titans.
Bowers' NFL career got off to a slow start, but coaches have been raving about his progress lately. And with Michael Bennett (groin) expected to be out a couple weeks, Bowers is getting his chance. "He's playing aggressive. He's violent and starting to pick things up pretty quickly," coach Raheem Morris said.

Wed Oct 12 201113:44Bucs moving Da'Quan Bowers to tackle
The Bucs are moving second-round pick Da'Quan Bowers from end to defensive tackle to help atone for Gerald McCoy's (high ankle sprain) loss.
McCoy will probably miss multiple games. Bowers was playing about 25 snaps per game behind LE Michael Bennett and RE Adrian Clayborn in the first five weeks, recording six tackles and no sacks. He's likely to prove a big drop-off in run defense from McCoy, and play in a rotation with early-down DT Frank Okam.

Mon Aug 29 201109:04Bucs DE Bowers has missed just one practice
Bucs second-round DE Da'Quan Bowers has missed just one practice all preseason.
So far, so good on his much-maligned knee. Bowers plummeted on draft day after undergoing knee surgery following his senior season, but he's had no pain so far and is competing for the starting left end job with Michael Bennett. The highly-talented Bowers has a real chance to make the entire league regret passing on him if he can sustain health.

Fri Jul 29 201111:44Da'Quan Bowers opens training camp healthy
Second-round pick Da'Quan Bowers opened training camp Friday as the Bucs' starting left defensive end.
Bowers, who fell in the draft due to knee concerns, reportedly looked "explosive" and "better than you might expect." The Bucs will field an awful lot of young talent on their defensive line. DT Gerald McCoy should draw the bulk of the double teams, allowing Bowers to be single-blocked most of the time. If he stays healthy, we'd bet on Bowers leading the team in sacks.

Wed Jul 27 201118:11Bucs sign No. 51 overall pick DE D. Bowers
Bucs signed No. 51 overall pick DE Da'Quan Bowers to a four-year contract.
Despite a wonky knee that caused a free fall in the draft, Bowers expects to participate in training camp and open the season as the starting left defensive end. If he's truly healthy, Bowers will be a candidate for defensive rookie of the year. His health will be a story to track in training camp.
