Sun Nov 10 201319:47Keenum throws 3 TDs as Texans fall to Cards
Case Keenum completed 22-of-43 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans' Week 10 loss to Arizona.
He scrambled twice for 13 yards. Two of Keenum's TD went to Andre Johnson on heavily contested catches, and he found rookie TE Ryan Griffin wide open in the back of the end zone on his third. Keenum, however, couldn't engineer a game-winning drive down by three points late in the fourth quarter, making sideline throws way out of bounds and failing to generate second-half offense for the third straight game. Keenum has begun each of his first three NFL starts incredibly fast, only for the bottom to fall out in the third and fourth quarters every time. Still, he warrants serious two-quarterback-league consideration when the Texans face the Raiders' weak pass defense in Week 11.

Sun Nov 3 201323:51Keenum breaks out for 350 yards, 3 TDs
Case Keenum completed 20-of-34 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 9 loss to the Colts.
All three of his touchdowns went to Andre Johnson, including an impressive 62-yard pass in the first quarter. He also showed good mobility outside the pocket, adding three carries for 26 yards. Keenum has been a clear upgrade over Matt Schaub the last two weeks, completing 59 percent of his passes for 621 yards and four touchdowns. He'll be a solid QB2 option for Week 10 against the Cardinals.

Mon Oct 28 201312:40Case Keenum will start for Texans in Week 9
Case Keenum will start Sunday's Week 9 game against the Colts.
Even if Matt Schaub (ankle) were 100 percent, the Texans would have been hard-pressed to turn back to the pick-six machine. Keenum was wildly impressive in his first NFL start prior to the bye, going 15-of-25 for 271 yards with one touchdown and one turnover in a very difficult spot at Kansas City. Now the undrafted rookie gets a chance to run with the job and will be in a far easier situation. The Texans are playing at home and facing a good but not dominant Colts secondary. If Keenum sustains a high level of play, he'll relegate Schaub to a backup role all year.

Sun Oct 20 201319:41Case Keenum piles up 271 yards versus Chiefs
Making his first career start, Case Keenum showed well in Houston's Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, completing 15-of-25 passes for 271 yards, one touchdown and one turnover.
Considering the circumstances - Keenum was on the road in one of the league's loudest stadiums, and lost his starting running back on his first series - Keenum played remarkably well. Keenum had six passes go for at least 25 yards, while he showed no fear against the league's top pass rush. That pass rush was what ultimately did him in, however, as the Chiefs started sending extra blitzers in the second half, where they notched all five of their sacks. Keenum coughed up the ball for a game-ending fumble on K.C.'s final takedown. Nevertheless, it was a best-case scenario performance, and should at least create a quarterback debate during Houston's Week 8 bye. Keenum would get the Colts in Week 9 if he gets another start.

Sun Oct 20 201310:55Texans QB coach: Keenum could run with job
Texans QB coach Karl Dorrell says Case Keenum's Week 7 start against the Chiefs "will shed light about where do you go beyond this point."
So Keenum has a chance to run with the job if he plays well. "That's the best-case scenario. We'd love to put ourselves in that position," Dorrell said when asked if Keenum could make the quarterback decision a tough one. The chances of Keenum lighting up the stat sheet are slim against a terrifying Kansas City defense. The Texans have internally compared Keenum to Jake Plummer, whom coach Gary Kubiak was with in Denver. Houston is desperate for a spark.

Wed May 22 201309:22Keenum to 'push' Yates for backup QB job
Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Case Keenum is "going to push" T.J. Yates for the backup quarterback job.
The Texans only keep two quarterbacks on the final 53-man roster. Keenum (6-foot-1, 208) set all kinds of passing records at the University of Houston, but he doesn't possess NFL size or arm strength. He spent last season on the practice squad, and we'd bet he ends up back there. Yates should win the job.

Tue Jan 15 201300:05Texans sign 5 to reserve/future contracts
Texans signed QB Case Keenum, OT Nick Mondek, WR Jeff Maehl, DE Keith Browner, and TE Jake Byrne to reserve/future contracts.
These players finished the season on Houston's practice squad. Maehl, a former Oregon star, is a special teams prospect in the NFL. Keenum set all kinds of records at the University of Houston, but has a third-stringer's arm.

Mon May 28 201208:48Texans coach Kubiak likes undrafted Keenum
Texans coach Gary Kubiak believes undrafted QB Case Keenum has an NFL future.
"He's well on his way to learning what he's doing, so I'm very pleased," Kubiak said last week. "I'm excited to work with him." Keenum is facing long odds of beating out John Beck out for Houston's third-string job, but Beck's age (30) and lack of in-game success are working against him. Keenum is still most likely ticketed for the practice squad, however.
