However, he still thinks he'll be ready to go this Sunday against New England, but for that to be realistic, Streater will likely need to log at least a limited practice Friday. If he ends up sitting, Denarius Moore would likely step into the starting role opposite James Jones, while Andre Holmes would be a candidate for increased looks as well.

He did not practice Wednesday, however, and if he can't return to at least a limited practice by Friday, the team may step in and hold him out against New England. Through two games, Streater has six receptions on 10 targets for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Streater is a very capable receiver and if he continues to be fairly heavily-targeted, he can cement his spot as the top receiver in Oakland.

While Streater has been on the field plenty during the exhibition season, the targets have simply been hard to come by, with quarterback Matt Schaub (elbow) failing to sustain drives with the first-team unit. In the Raiders' third preseason game last Friday against Green Bay, Streater hauled in one of three targets for 16 yards, after catching two of three for eight yards the week prior. Streater suffered a concussion in the team's first padded practice of training camp but was still able to take the field for the preseason opener, though he did not see a target. There's certainly a chance Streater could lead the Raiders in receiving this season, but it took just 888 yards to do so last year and he's really only a deep-league option, given the uncertainty at quarterback for Oakland.

It's unclear whether the Raiders are trying to send James Jones a message, or if they might actually be serious about using him as a third receiver. Either way, Streater will probably be a starter, as the potential battle would seemingly be between Jones and Andre Holmes. Streater's concussion no longer seems to be an issue, and he was surprisingly productive as a second-year pro last season, despite dealing with awful quarterback play.

It's just the first time since Week 10 he's been held under 50 receiving yards. Streater will look to get back on track against the Broncos in Week 17.

Streater led the team with nine targets, but the "wow" plays in this game went to Andre Holmes and Mychal Rivera. It's not a surprise considering Streater's role as a possession receiver. Still, the Temple product is the most reliable bet in this receiving corps and would be the only one on the fantasy radar for a Week 16 game against the Chargers. Just be sure it's Matt McGloin under center as Terrelle Pryor is more likely to use his legs and deep throws than target Streater underneath.

Andre Holmes came almost out of nowhere to dominate targets (11) against Oakland, while Streater (4) took a backseat. Streater's fantasy outlook is fairly bleak the rest of the way. Holmes is getting better, and Denarius Moore (shoulder) figures to return for Week 14 following the ten-day layoff. When the Raiders meet the Jets in Week 14, Streater will be no better than a WR4.

OC Greg Olson said Rod Streater has been asked to "step up and play a number of different positions" with Denarius Moore (shoulder) sidelined.

Moore won't play against the Cowboys Thursday, leaving Streater as the only real NFL wideout suiting up for the Raiders once again. Since Matt McGloin took over as the starter two weeks ago, the possession receiver racked up 11 catches for 187 with one touchdown. Now he gets to face the Cowboys' No. 31 pass defense and could be a target monster -- especially if the Raiders fall behind. There's sleeper appeal here.
