Fri Sep 26 201400:01Kirk Cousins: Throws Four Picks Against Giants
Cousins completed 19-of-33 passes for 257 yards, with one touchdown, four interceptions and a lost fumble in Thursday's 45-14 loss to the Giants. He gained 12 yards on his lone carry.
Cousins had to face an underrated New York defense after facing a much softer Philly unit last week. The gap in the quality of his two performances was still surprisingly drastic, which seems to be a theme in the young signal-caller's rather limited career. He's looked excellent on a few separate occasions, but has also turned in some stinkers, notably struggling in the final two games of last season. It couldn't have been much worse Thursday, as each of the four interceptions was clearly Cousins' fault. He threw three picks in the third quarter alone, with each throw seemingly more ill-advised than the last. We can't totally forget about his fantastic performances in Weeks 2 and 3, but it's now hard to feel good about Cousins, heading into a dreadful Week 5 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Cousins completed 30-of-48 passes for 427 yards with three touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Eagles.
While his late interception all but sealed the game for the Eagles, Cousins was very solid overall, connecting with seven different receivers, including with Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson for over 100 yards and a touchdown each. He threw 27 of his 48 passes to his starting wide receivers, while also throwing a touchdown to fullback Darrel Young for the second consecutive week. Cousins has the offense humming right now and he'll take that into Week 4 on Thursday against the Giants.
Mon Sep 15 201411:52Cousins slated to handle Washington's QB duties in coming weeks
With Robert Griffin having dislocated his left ankle Sunday, Cousins is slated to handle Washington's QB duties in the coming weeks, the Washington Post reports.
At this point, the main variable is how long the injury will keep Griffin out, with tests Monday on tap to get a better idea on that front. In any case, Cousins merits a pickup for those looking looking to bolster their QB situations, and of course, represents a priority add for those who roster Griffin.

Cousins came on for an injured Robert Griffin (ankle) in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Jaguars and completed 22-of-33 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
Cousins completed passes to seven different receivers and led the Redskins to a big 41-10 victory despite also losing wide receiver DeSean Jackson to a shoulder injury. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Griffin may have suffered a dislocated ankle, which would leave Cousins as the starting quarterback for potentially the rest of the season.
Mon May 12 201417:22Redskins weren't 'close' to dealing Cousins
Redskins GM Bruce Allen confirms he "never came close" to dealing No. 2 QB Kirk Cousins during the draft.
That's because Cousins isn't worth more than a day-three pick. At that price, the Redskins are much better of keeping a player who's attempted 203 passes in two years behind Robert Griffin III. Cousins is not a commodity. Perhaps Twitter will begin to realize that.

Thu May 8 201418:17Report: Cousins drawing interest from several
A source tells the Washington Post that Kirk Cousins has drawn recent interest from "several teams."
The report states the Redskins continue to want at least a second-rounder in exchange for Cousins. If that's true, we'd be stunned if he isn't still a Redskin come Monday. In eight career NFL appearances, Cousins has posted a 56.2 completion percentage wtih eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He's 1-3 as a starter.

Sun May 4 201414:22NFL exec: Cousins 'at most' worth 3rd-rounder
An NFL executive told ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim that Kirk Cousins "at most" is worth a third-round pick.
Speculation of a Cousins-to-Cleveland trade hasn't gone away deep into the pre-draft process, and may continue into Thursday based on Cousins' history with new Browns OC Kyle Shanahan. The most likely outcome remains Cousins toting the clipboard for at least one more year behind Robert Griffin III in D.C. There are more and more signs pointing to the Browns drafting a quarterback high.

Sun Apr 20 201410:20Browns could target Kirk Cousins in trade
The Cleveland Plain Dealer suggests the Browns could target Kirk Cousins in a draft-day trade.
"It's all on the table and it should be an exciting three days. It might even include trade discussions for Kirk Cousins," writes beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot. The Browns have ten picks in the upcoming draft, while the Redskins are without a first-rounder and may be looking for additional selections in what is widely considered the deepest draft in recent memory. The Redskins are reportedly seeking a second-round pick for Cousins. That's not going to happen. We bet they'd take a third-rounder.

Wed Mar 26 201408:19HC Gruden: No one trying to trade for Cousins
Coach Jay Gruden said the Redskins haven't heard from any teams regarding a Kirk Cousins trade.
Once the Redskins put it out there that they wanted a second-round pick in exchange for Cousins, the rumors predictably died out. The third-year man is not going anywhere despite his offseason campaign. "You need two great quarterbacks," Gruden said. "The way Robert plays, you never know what can happen."

Sun Mar 2 201414:59Schefter: Kirk Cousins not going anywhere
ESPN's Adam Schefter stated on the Ross Tucker Podcast that two informed sources have told him the Redskins will not trade Kirk Cousins.
Schefter recently tweeted Cousins "is not going anywhere." Stated Schefter on Tucker's podcast, "Somebody told me not even with an ounce of hesitation that basically there's no way they're trading Kirk Cousins. ... And then, there was somebody else that I spoke to, who basically said 'that's exactly right. Not happening.'" Per Schefter, "Nobody's made an offer for Kirk Cousins, to my knowledge. They're not interested in listening to offers for Kirk Cousins. It's not gonna happen. That's why I tweeted he's not going anywhere."

Mon Feb 24 201411:17Cousins keeps talking about wanting to play
Kirk Cousins again stated his desire to be a starter.
This story just won't die. Cousins is like just about every other NFL backup in that he wants to get on the field consistently and prove to the world he's a difference-maker. But he's entering the third year of a four-year contract and the Redskins reportedly want a second-round pick in exchange for their RG3 insurance plan. It's not going to happen, meaning Cousins needs to accept his role in Washington and not be a distraction.

Fri Feb 21 201408:59Redskins 'have no plans' to trade QB Cousins
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Redskins "have no plans" to trade Kirk Cousins.
"He's not going anywhere," Schefter added. The Redskins were said to be seeking a second-round pick for their backup quarterback, and we'd find it hard to believe they'd turn that down if one was offered to them. However, there's little chance any team is willing to surrender that type of compensation for Cousins. He simply means more to the Redskins as a reliable backup to RGIII.

Wed Feb 19 201413:04Report: Skins want second-rounder for Cousins
A source tells the Washington Post that the Redskins want a second-round pick in exchange for Kirk Cousins.
They're highly unlikely to get it. Cousins profiles as more of a plus backup than a quality starter, as evidenced by his 56.2 completion percentage, 51.5 QBR and 8:10 TD-to-INT ratio in eight career games. It would be a sign of absolute desperation if a quarterback-needy team gave up a second-rounder for Cousins. The most likely outcome here has him returning to Washington as Robert Griffin III's backup.

Tue Feb 18 201410:43Kirk Cousins not expected to be traded
The Washington Post reports Kirk Cousins is "going nowhere."
Cousins means more to the Redskins than he would bring back in a trade. He's a valuable backup, and no team in its right mind is going to give up a premium draft pick for a guy with a career 68.6 quarterback rating and 8:10 TD:INT ratio. The only way Cousins could get his wish and be traded out of Washington is if a needy team fails to land a quarterback in May's draft and panics and offers up a high 2015 draft pick. We fully expect Cousins to be holding the clipboard in D.C.

Thu Feb 13 201420:13Kirk Cousins undergoes LASIK eye surgery
Kirk Cousins underwent LASIK eye surgery on Tuesday.
Cousins is hopeful the operation will lead to improved on-field play. "In this league the difference between Pro Bowl and getting cut is that small," Cousins said. "The more you can see out of the corner of your eye - blitzes, pass protection, open receivers - all of it is effective." Slightly better vision is hardly going to be a game-changer for Cousins, but it's a classic "couldn't hurt."

Wed Feb 12 201412:56Kirk Cousins reiterates he's open to trade
Kirk Cousins reiterated on Sirius XM NFL Radio Wednesday that he would welcome a trade out of Washington.
"I'm open to a trade but I love Washington, the city, and fans," said Cousins. "My goal is to be a starting quarterback but I'm willing to wait my turn at the same time. Open to all options." Cousins turns 26 later this offseason. He could fetch a mid- to late-round pick, though it remains to be seen whether GM Bruce Allen believes that's worth it to part with a solid backup.

A source tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer that the Browns are "highly unlikely" to trade for Kirk Cousins.

Mon Feb 3 201415:42Mort: New Browns OC Shanahan 'loves' Cousins
ESPN's Chris Mortensen stated on NFL Insiders that new Browns OC Kyle Shanahan "loves" Kirk Cousins.
ESPN NFC East reporter Dan Graziano chimed in, saying he recently spoke to an executive on a quarterback-needy club who "wouldn't give up more than a three (third-round pick) for Cousins." Cousins has essentially asked the Redskins to trade him, but they won't get a premium draft choice. The Browns do have a lot of 2014 picks and could conceivably make Washington a mid-round offer.
