Luck was replaced at QB by Matt Hasselbeck midway through the Colts' second series in Sunday's preseason opener against the Eagles, Kevin Bowen of Colts.com reports.

Prior to his exit, Luck completed 5-of-6 passes for 43 yards, with his lone incompletion being the result of a drop. Most importantly, Luck emerged from the game uninjured as he approaches the coming season as one of fantasy's elite quarterbacks, regardless of format.

The Colts have picked up their fifth-year option on Luck's contract with the team, ESPN.com reports.

Such an outcome was essentially a forgone conclusion, but the move ensures that Luck -- who led the NFL in TD passes (40) in 2014 and was third in passing yards (4,761), will be under contract with the Colts through the 2016 season. Down the road, of course, the 25-year-old signal-caller is candidate to earn a lucrative extension from the organization, but at this stage, the team doesn't plan to address that situation until after the 2015 campaign.

Luck completed 12-of-33 passes for 126 yards with two picks in Sunday's 45-7 loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

It was a rough ending to Luck's season, but it doesn't changed the fact that the rising star finished the regular season with a career-high 4,761 passing yards and a league-leading 40 touchdown passes against 16 picks. Luck will approach the 2015 season -- which will be his fourth campaign in the NFL -- as one of the fantasy football's elite quarterbacks.

Luck completed 27-of-43 passes for 265 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions, in Sunday's 24-13 win over the Broncos. He added 21 yards on two carries.

Luck came out firing with a slew of short passes, as the Colts didn't try a running play until their third drive. The offense was a bit more balanced from that point on, but it should be noted that 10 of Daniel Herron's 23 carries came in the final quarter while Indy was sitting on a lead. Luck wasn't spectacular, but he was accurate on short and intermediate passes, and he didn't make any bad mistakes. Both interceptions were from deep throws on third-and-long, and while they didn't really hurt the Colts, Luck probably should have thrown the ball further if he was going to throw to blanketed receivers. In any case, he gets another tough matchup for the AFC Championship Game in New England, though the Patriots did just give up 31 points to the Ravens.

Luck completed 31-of-44 passes for 376 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-10 wild card win over the Benagls.

Luck, who also ran twice for 18 yards in Sunday's win, is now on track to square off against former Colt QB Peyton Manning and the Broncos on the road next weekend.

Luck completed 10-of-16 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns before giving way to Matt Hasselbeck during Sunday's win over the Titans.

The Colts had already clinched a playoff spot, and after throwing touchdowns to Coby Fleener and Jack Doyle in the first half, Luck let the veteran Hasselbeck close things out. Luck finished the regular season with a career-high 4,761 passing yards and a league-leading 40 touchdown passes. The knock against him this season has been turnovers, as he threw 16 interceptions and lost six of 12 fumbles. However, it was good enough to help the Colts win 11 games for the third consecutive season, and he'll be a solid fantasy play during the postseason, regardless of who they play.

Luck completed 15 of 22 passes for 109 yards in Sunday's blowout loss to the Cowboys. He was intercepted twice and did not throw a touchdown.

Just a devastating stat line for anyone who started Luck in a Week 16 championship game. Luck was pulled from the game in the third quarter with the Cowboys thoroughly dismantling the Colts. He was so dominant for most of the season, only to completely fall apart when fantasy owners needed him most (Weeks 15 and 16). If you somehow survived this stinker and are still alive in Week 17, take solace in the fact that Luck has a good chance to bounce back against a Titans team that he shredded for 393 yards and four touchdowns in Week 4.

Luck completed 18-of-34 passes for 187 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, while also rushing eight times for 18 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.

Luck's 18 completions were a season-low, and his 187 passing yards were his lowest total since he threw for 172 against the Eagles back in Week 2. However, he still managed to throw two touchdowns for the second game in a row, and he now has nine touchdowns in the last three games. However, he continues to be sloppy with the ball, turning it over six times over that span. The Colts clinched the AFC South with the victory, and while they still have a chance at a top-2 seed, they need the Broncos or Patriots to lose, which should at least keep Luck on the field in Week 16 against the Cowboys, who are allowing the ninth-most passing yards per game this season.

Luck completed 24-of-53 passes for 294 yards, with two touchdowns, a pair of interceptions and lost fumble, in Sunday's 25-24 comeback win at Cleveland. He also rushed the ball five times for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Luck didn't look sharp early on, and trailed for most of the second half, but saved his best for last, throwing a short touchdown pass to T.Y. Hilton with only 32 seconds remaining. He has a good shot to post better numbers next week at home against Houston, which has not defended opposing QBs very well this season.

Luck completed 19-of-27 passes for 370 yards, with five touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Redskins. He also added four carries for 20 rushing yards, though he lost a fumble.

A week after passing for only 253 yards and one touchdown against the Jaguars, Luck set a season-high in touchdowns, while throwing for exactly 370 yards for the fourth time this season. He has now broken the 300-yard mark in all but two games this year, though he figures to have a tougher time hitting it in Week 9 against a Browns defense allowing the ninth-fewest passing yards per game.

Luck completed 21 of 32 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing eight times for 49 yards Sunday against the Jaguars.

Luck struggled with constant pressure and ended up taking five sacks in the game. He connected with seven different receivers, but only T.Y. Hilton finished with more than 40 yards, and a majority of his production came on a 73-yard touchdown in the third quarter. It was only the second time all season that Luck failed to throw multiple touchdowns, and he failed to extend his eight-game streak with at least 300 passing yards. He'll look to bounce back in Week 13 against the Redskins, who came into Sunday ranked 11th in fewest-passing yards per game this season, though only three teams had allowed more passing touchdowns.

Luck completed 23-of-39 passes for 303 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 42-20 loss to the Patriots. He had three carries for a team-high 15 yards.

While Luck certainly didn't play his best game, the bigger problem for Indianapolis was a complete inability to run or defend the run. The Indianapolis running backs managed a meager four yards on 14 carries, while the Patriots' Jonas Gray single-handedly ran for 199 yards and four touchdowns. The Indy offensive line was quite a bit better in pass protection, as New England recorded six quarterback hits and just one sack. The Colts lost two key offensive pieces in the game, with tight end Dwayne Allen and running back Ahmad Bradshaw both failing to return after suffering ankle injuries. An extended absence for either player would affect Luck, but the Colts don't exactly lack for offensive weapons. And, without Bradshaw, Indianapolis probably wouldn't have much success running the ball, which could lead to even more pass attempts for Luck.

Luck completed 25-of-45 passes for 354 yards and four touchdown in Monday's 40-24 win over the Giants, adding five yards on two carries.

Despite jumping out to a lead, the Colts barely ran the ball in the first half, before going with a more balanced approach after halftime. Luck missed a couple of throws early on, but he was once again mostly excellent, often in the face of pressure. The Colts' willingness to go pass-heavy while playing with a lead is an encouraging sign, not only for Luck's owners, but also for anyone with an interest in seeing the young quarterback break records. He's on pace to make a run at the single-season marks for passing yards, passing touchdowns, completions and pass attempts as the Colts head into their bye.

Luck completed 26-of-45 passes for 400 yards with three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions in Sunday's wild 51-34 loss at Pittsburgh. He also had three carries for 26 yards.

Luck got off to a rough start, having an interception returned for a touchdown early in the second quarter. From there, it was an uphill battle, although Luck finished with great numbers, posting his sixth straight 300-yard passing game. He was missing a reliable target in Reggie Wayne (elbow), but he got a massive boost from rookie Donte Moncrief, who caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. He'll look to continue his strong season in Week 9 against the Giants.

Luck completed 27-of-42 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Bengals.

Luck's excellent season rolls along, as he has now thrown for over 300 yards in all but one game this season, while scoring multiple touchdowns in each week. He has launched himself into the upper-tier of fantasy quarterbacks this season and will take on the Steelers in Week 8.

Luck completed 25-of-44 passes for 370 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception and one lost fumble in Thursday's 33-28 win over the Texans. He added 18 yards on seven carries.

The interception came on a tipped pass, and the fumble was a shotgun snap that appeared to hit the quarterback before he was expecting it. On the other hand, the Texans missed a few chances at interceptions, so it's not as if Luck was perfect. He did, however, do an excellent job of getting the ball to T.Y. Hilton, who finished with a 9-223-1 receiving line. On pace for well over 5,000 yards, Luck has 17 touchdown passes through six games, with another two scores on the ground. He's torched the lousy defenses that he's seen this season, and has more than held his own against the tougher opponents. Next week brings a seemingly difficult home matchup with the Bengals.

Luck connected on 32-of-49 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday's win over the Ravens. He also rushed six times for 12 yards and a touchdown.

Luck has now passed for at least 300 yards in four of five games, although his 6.37 yard per attempt average Sunday marked a season-low. Additionally, Sunday was the first time this season that Luck threw more interceptions than touchdowns; however, he did tally his second rushing score of the season. Luck has now led the Colts to three straight wins and will face a quick turnaround before Thursday's AFC South clash in Houston during Week 6.

Luck completed 29-of-41 passes for 393 yards with four touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Titans.

Luck was brilliant yet again, throwing four touchdowns for the second game in a row. He connected with nine different receivers Sunday, including touchdowns to Reggie Wayne, Dwayne Allen, Coby Fleener and Ahmad Bradshaw. Not only was it his second straight game with four touchdowns, it was his second straight while throwing four touchdowns to four different receivers (Bradshaw, Fleener and Allen also scored last week). Luck is making his case for fantasy MVP, as he leads the league with 1,305 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. Up next is a Week 5 matchup against a Ravens defense that is 24th against the pass this season.

Luck completed 31-of-39 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding 15 rushing yards in a 44-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Luck completed passes to nine different receivers, throwing his touchdowns to wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, running back Ahmad Bradshaw and tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen. In fact, he could have had another touchdown but Fleener let a perfectly thrown ball pass right through his hands in the end zone. Nevertheless, it was a dominant performance that tied his season-high in passing yards while increasing his passing touchdown total to nine in three games. Up next is a tough Week 4 matchup against a Titans defense ranked second in the league against the pass so far this season.

Luck completed 20-of-34 passes for 172 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception in Monday's 30-27 loss to the Eagles. He added 20 yards on four carries.

The Colts led for most of the contest and thus leaned heavily on their running game, with Trent Richardson (21) and Ahmad Bradshaw (13) combining for 34 carries. Luck didn't have one of his better games, notably throwing a red-zone interception with the Colts up by seven points in the final six minutes. The pick should've been nullified by a defensive holding or illegal contact penalty, but Luck still made a risky throw at a time when his team would have hugely increased its win expectancy with a field goal. While it's obviously frustrating for Luck's owners to watch Trent Richardson get 21 carries in an offense with this much talent, the young signal-caller should be in for a nice afternoon in Week 3 against the Jaguars.
