Richardson (illness) did not record a carry or catch in Sunday's playoff win over the Bengals.
Richardson had been listed as questionable for the contest after missing Friday's practice with an illness, but it was still surprising to see him suit up Sunday and not record a single touch. With Richardson a non-factor, Dan Herron (12 carries for 56 yards and 10 catches for 85 yards) started his third straight game, while Zurlon Tipton (11 carries for 40 yards) was next in line for work in the Indy backfield Sunday, especially after Herron coughed up the football a couple of times.

Richardson (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's playoff game against the Bengals.
Richardson is out there if you need him Sunday, but working in a backfield time-share that figures to tilt in Dan Herron's favor, he's a hit-or-miss lineup option Sunday.

Richardson is questionable for Sunday's playoff game against the Bengals after missing Friday's practice with an illness, ESPN reports.
Richardson at least has two days to feel better, but he may see fewer carries due to the ailment even if he is able to play.

Richardson had two carries for one yard and two receptions for eight yards in Sunday's 42-7 loss to the Cowboys.
Ouch. Richardson owners know by now not to expect miracles from the plodding back, but it is still tough to stomach a stat line like this. Because the Cowboys jumped out to a big early lead, the Colts wound up with just 10 rushing attempts all afternoon. Dan Herron claimed seven of those carries, so even if the rushing attack gets back on track next week against Tennessee, Richardson may still be limited to a handful of touches.

Richardson had nine carries for 32 rushing yards and two catches on three targets for nine receiving yards during Sunday's win over the Texans.
Richardson was outplayed once again by Dan Herron, who finished with 11 carries for 60 rushing yards and two catches on three targets for 12 receiving yards. It was a decent disparity, but it's clear that the Colts are content using both of their backs almost equally, which limits their respective fantasy upsides. Up next is a Week 16 matchup against the Cowboys, who have allowed the fourth-most rushing touchdowns this season.

Richardson had seven carries for 30 yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 25-24 comeback win at Cleveland.
Richardson had only one fewer carry than Dan Herron, although Herron was involved heavily as a pass catcher, grabbing 4-of-7 targets for 45 yards. Furthermore, Herron was the one on the field in the final minute, with the game on the line, picking up a huge 4th down conversion inside the Browns' 10-yard line. Richardson appears to be trending in the wrong direction, but if you need him next week, he'll face Houston at home.

Richardson got the start Sunday against Washington, but he managed only 12 yards on eight carries.
Backup Dan Herron also rushed eight times, but he turned them into 88 yards and a touchdown, with his 49-yard score the longest run-play by the Colts this season. Herron did lose a fumble, so Richardson's ability to hold onto the ball could keep him in the mix for carries, but the former clearly looks like the upside play. Up next is a Week 14 matchup against a Browns defense allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game this season.

Richardson (illness) had a team-high 13 carries for 42 rushing yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Jaguars.
Richardson was widely expected to be the starting running back after Ahmad Bradshaw (leg) was placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, but it was Dan Herron who got the start Sunday. Herron rushed 12 times for 65 yards, while adding five catches for 31 receiving yards, though it was Richardson who got the goal-line looks, which resulted in his one-yard touchdown. It is unclear if Richardson's illness from earlier in the week had anything to do with Herron starting, but it certainly looks like the Colts will be using a timeshare between the two, which will only limited their respective fantasy upsides.
Sun Nov 23 201413:00Richardson's teammate
Richardson's teammate, Dan Herron, was announced with the Colts' starting lineup Sunday against the Jaguars, Kevin Bowen of colts.com reports.
As the report notes, Richardson was under the weather earlier this week, but we'd still expect that the duo figure to share the Colts' backfield Sunday in Ahmad Bradshaw's absence.
Sun Nov 23 201411:39Richardson (illness) active and starting Sunday against Jaguars
Richardson (illness) is active and starting Sunday against the Jaguars.
Richardson gets the starting nod with Ahmad Bradshaw placed on IR this week after he suffered a broken fibula in last Monday's game against the Patriots. Boom Herron will be his backup, with Zurlon Tipton, who was promoted to the practice squad, also a possible option for touches.
Fri Nov 21 201418:31Richardson (illness) probable for Sunday's game against Jaguars
Richardson (illness) is probable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, the Colts' official site reports.
With Ahmad Bradshaw on IR, opportunity knocks for Richardson to see plenty of work Sunday, with Boom Herron on hand to serve in a complementary role, and Zurlon Tipton a candidate to be promoted from the Colts' practice squad before Sunday's game.
Thu Nov 20 201412:13Richardson (illness) returned to practice Thursday
Richardson (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Mike Chappell of The Indianapolis Star reports.
With Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending IR, Richardson is on track to head the Colts' rushing attack Sunday against the Jaguars, with Dan Herron (and perhaps Zurlon Tipton if he is promoted from the practice squad) on hand to work in a complementary role.
Wed Nov 19 201413:55Richardson (illness) missed Wednesday's practice
Richardson (illness) missed Wednesday's practice, Kevin Bowen of the Colts' official site reports.
We'd expect Richardson to be fine by the time Sunday's game against the Jaguars rolls around, and with Ahmad Bradshaw now on IR, Richardson has a clearcut opportunity head the Colts' backfield in the coming weeks, with Dan Herron next up for the team's carries.
Mon Nov 17 201417:17Richardson in line to see added work in coming weeks
With Ahmad Bradshaw out with a fractured fibula, Richardson is in line to see added work in the coming weeks, NFL.com reports.
Richardson is averaging a lackluster 3.4 yards per carry to date, but in the absence of Bradshaw, the Colts figure to rely on Richardson more moving forward, with Dan Herron a candidate to see added snaps as well. Next up for the Colts and Richardson is a favorable Week 12 matchup against the Jaguars (giving up an average of 126.2 rushing yards per game) that could provide Richardson with a solid bounce-back opportunity, following his seven-carry, zero-yard effort this past Sunday against the Patriots.

Richardson's teammate Ahmad Bradshaw (leg) was using crutches and a protective boot after Sunday's loss to the Patriots, Mike Chappell of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Bradshaw left at the beginning of the fourth quarter to have X-rays, and he was ruled out for the night shortly thereafter. The early signs indicate that Bradshaw is in danger of missing some time, which would likely lead to an expansion of Richardson's role, despite the former first-round draft pick's lack of success running the ball. After gaining zero yards on seven carries in Sunday's loss, Richardson has just 391 yards on 115 carries (3.4 YPC) this season. Noah Herron will likely also get some touches if Bradshaw misses time, with Richardson in line to benefit from more carries and more receptions.

Richardson (hamstring) gained 33 yards on seven carries and nine yards on two receptions in Monday's 40-24 win over the Giants.
One week after he was merely active to serve as the emergency back, Richardson showed no signs of a lingering injury. He also only played a bit role in the offense, as the Colts' pass-heavy approach favored Ahmad Bradshaw's snap count even more so than usual. Despite jumping out to a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter, the Colts had just four running-back carries in the first half. Later on, the team turned to Dan Herron in garbage time, rather than risking Richardson's health. Richardson's minor injury doesn't seem to have changed much, as Bradshaw still looks like the better player, and is still working in the more favorable role. The Colts are off in Week 10, before facing the Patriots at home in Week 11.

Richardson (hamstring) does not appear on the Colts' Thursday practice participation/injury report, the team's official site reports.
Though Richardson was listed as active for Week 8's contest against the Steelers, he essentially served as the Colts' emergency running back for the game, per the Indianapolis Star. No longer listed on the team's injury report, however, Richardson is now poised to rejoin the Colts' backfield mix Monday night against the Giants.
Thu Oct 30 201412:52Richardson (hamstring) spotted at practice Thursday
Richardson (hamstring) was spotted at practice Thursday, Kevin Bowen of the Colts' official site reports.
We'll have to see how the Colts list Richardson's participation, but his presence on the field Thursday bodes well for his chances of rejoining the Colts' backfield mix Monday against the Giants, after suiting up, but not recording a carry in Week 8.

Coach Chuck Pagano indicated that Richardson (hamstring) will be ready to go this week as the Colts' prepare for next Monday's game against the Giants, the team's official site reports.
Per Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, while Richardson suited up for this past Sunday's game against the Steelers, he was viewed by the Colts' as an emergency option only after not practicing last week. In the absence of any setbacks, however, Pagano is hopeful that Richardson will see action in the team's backfield next Monday.

Richardson (hamstring) was active during Sunday's 51-34 loss at Pittsburgh, but did not touch the ball.
Richardson was a game-time decision, and while he was active, the Colts decided to keep him on the sideline. Also, Indianapolis fell behind early, forcing Andrew Luck to air it out, so the game flow didn't favor a bruiser like Richardson anyway. He's likely to be questionable to play in next week's game against the Giants.
