Randle received deferred adjudication with regard to his shoplifting arrest last October, the Dallas Morning News reports. "He's just relieved and ready to move on and focus on training camp," said his attorney, Steven Bell, who noted that Randle regretted the situation. "He's a good young man."

If Randle stays out of trouble for the next 180 days the charge will be dismissed, and it doesn't seem as though the league will pursue a suspension. The third-year running back heads into camp at the top of the Cowboys' depth chart, and if he hangs onto that spot he should be in line for a big season running behind the team's elite offensive line.

The Cowboys' lead running back job is likely Randle's to lose, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News.

Randle took most of the first-team reps during the offseason, and his competition for the starting job is less than impressive. It's been a long time since Darren McFadden was effective, even when healthy. Ryan Williams (knee) also has health concerns and a shaky track record, while the Cowboys seemingly view Lance Dunbar as more of a change-of-pace/passing-down option. If he does lock down a role as the Cowboys' lead running back, Randle will get to run behind a top-notch offensive line for a team that won 12 games last year. He wouldn't necessarily stay on the field in obvious passing situations, as DeMarco Murray typically did the past few seasons, but it's at least a possibility.

Randle continues to handle first-team reps in OTAs, as neither Darren McFadden (hamstring) nor Ryan Williams (knee) have been healthy enough to take part in team drills.

While it's still a long way to training camp, much less Week 1, the fact that Randle's injury-prone competition is already having trouble staying healthy reaffirms the fact that at this point he should be considered the favorite to emerge as the Cowboys' primary running back. If Randle can avoid any off-field troubles, he has a real shot at putting together a breakout season.

Randle, and not Darren McFadden, is expected to get the initial look with the Cowboys' first team offense as the team heads into their OTAs, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Fantasy players will be keeping a very close eye on how the Cowboys backfield shakes out heading into Week 1, given the production any back could have running behind their supremely talented offensive line. Randle's off-field issues are still a concern, but his 6.7 YPC in limited touches last year highlights his potential value if he wins the starting job.

Randle is set to be a big part of the Cowboys' backfield this season after the club failed to select a running back in this year's draft.

He's second on the depth chart behind Darren McFadden, but McFadden's inability to stay healthy throughout his career could leave a lot of touches available for other backs. The Cowboys' elite offensive line is certainly capable of making any back a fantasy asset, but Randle's off-field issues make him a risky player to invest in as well.

Randle won't face felony charges stemming from a reported domestic disturbance at a hotel in Wichita on Feb. 3, ESPN.com reports.

Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Sedgwick County (Kan.) District Attorney's Office determined that there was "a lack of evidence" to go forward with the case, though Randle could potentially face misdemeanor charges. The 23-year-old running back carried 51 times for 343 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games for Dallas in 2014, while serving as the team's primary backup to DeMarco Murray, who is now with Philadelphia.

With Demarco Murray's departure for Philadelphia as a free agent, Randle is currently at the top of the Cowboys' depth chart at running back.

Before you get too excited about Randle as a sleeper, consider that the 'Boys will almost certainly look to use a pick to bolster the position in a deep and loaded draft class for RBs headlined by Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley, and that there's a chance Randle himself may not be back with the team depending on the outcome of an investigation into domestic violence allegations. Still, if things break the right way for Randle, he could be Dallas' starting running back in Week 1 behind their top-shelf offensive line.

Randle will not be charged for possession of a controlled substance, but he is now being investigated for accusations of domestic violence, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The new issue is obviously far more serious, and with Randle again drawing headlines for all the wrong reasons, it won't be surprising if the Cowboys eventually decide to release him. The team may wait to see how this latest incident plays out, but it's worth keeping in mind that domestic violence convictions now lead to a mandatory six-game suspension.

Randle was cited with a ticket but not arrested on marijuana charges, his agent Erik Burkhardt reports.

It was initially reported that Randle was arrested on the drug charge, but it appears that may not have been the case. At this point, it's a bit unclear on what impact (if any) it will have on his footprint in the Cowboys' 2015 backfield.

Randle appeared to be in line to assume a much larger share of the Cowboys' backfield touches if DeMarco Murray left the team as a free agent, but given this news it seems unlikely that Dallas will be factoring Randle too heavily into their 2015 plans.

Randle carried the ball four times for 69 yards and a touchdown, and caught one of two targets for three yards, during Sunday's win over Washington.

Fantasy owners who started Randle expecting DeMarco Murray to get a light workload must have been dismayed to see Murray stay in the backfield for basically the entire game, but a 65-yard TD scamper inside the final two minutes of the game salvaged Randle's production. He finishes the season with 51 carries for 343 rushing yards, good for an eye-popping 6.7 YPC, plus three touchdowns, and with Murray heading for free agency there is a chance Randle could wind up as the Cowboys' lead back in 2015.

Randle had 13 carries for 37 yards and one catch for seven yards in Sunday's 42-7 win over the Colts.

Despite his broken hand, DeMarco Murray still received 22 carries, limiting Randle's impact. If your league plays through Week 17, Randle could be a sneaky play next week. With the NFC East wrapped up and a first-round bye a fairly unlikely proposition, the Cowboys may decide to rest Murray, which would obviously give Randle's value a significant boost.

If you're trying to figure out which Cowboys backup RB to grab in the event DeMarco Murray (hand) can't play, Randle is more likely to see significant touches than change-of-pace back Lance Dunbar. Randle's had some big runs this season behind the impressive Dallas O-line, and the Colts rank in the bottom half of the league in both YPC and rushing TDs allowed, so if he does get the start he could be a very solid fantasy play this week.

With DeMarco Murray (hand) iffy for Sunday's game against the Colts, Randle is a candidate to see added work in the Cowboys' Week 16 backfield, ESPN.com reports.

While Murray has not been ruled out for Sunday's game, given that he will have surgery on Monday to repair a broken bone in his left hand, there's a decent chance that he'll miss the contest, and in such a scenario, Randle and Lance Dunbar would be in line to head the Cowboys' Week 16 backfield. While some form of time-share would likely be in effect in that event, Randle -- who has carried 34 times for 237 yards and two touchdowns this season -- would appear to be the higher-percentage fantasy dart than Dunbar, who has 26 carries for 91 yards to his credit in 2014.

Randle took his lone carry for a 17-yard touchdown in Thursday's 41-28 win over the Bears.

Randle could perhaps come into a bigger role in Week 17, if the Cowboys unexpectedly have little or nothing to play for. Otherwise, he's stuck behind DeMarco Murray, who has a nearly-unthinkable 320 carries through 13 games. For now, Randle is a very valuable handcuff and little else, though his one touch in Thursday's game was rather impressive.

Randle carried the ball seven times for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

He was quiet other than a 40-yard TD run in the third quarter, but the important takeaway is that Randle seems to have regained his spot as DeMarco Murray's primary backup. Should Murray get hurt, Randle would become an immediate waiver priority given the giant holes the Cowboys' offensive line can create for him.

He seems determined to put himself in coach Jason Garrett's doghouse, following up his shoplifting incident a couple of weeks ago by getting into a jawing match with Dez Bryant during practice this week that even had Jason Witten aggravated. Unless DeMarco Murray gets hurt, it's hard to imagine Randle having much fantasy value the rest of the way.
