Hunter had two receptions for 53 yards in Tennessee's preseason loss to Minnesota on Thursday.
Hunter wrapped up a successful preseason by leading the Titans in receiving in the defeat. With the first-team offense sitting, Hunter picked up the start against Minnesota, and it didn't take long for him to make an impact. His first reception came on Tennessee's first drive and went for 34 yards, and Hunter followed that up with a 19-yard catch early in the second quarter. Though Kendall Wright and Nate Washington remain the starting wideouts heading into Week 1, Hunter has looked impressive during the preseason and appears ready to take on a large role in the offense. It wouldn't surprise us if the second-year wideout displaced Nate Washington sooner rather than later.

Hunter caught three passes for 48 yards on three targets in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons.
Hunter played well for the second week in a row, as he continues to make his case to start alongside Kendall Wright in two-wide formations. Nate Washington, who is currently projected to start, had three receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's game. Even if Hunter doesn't get consistent snaps in two-wide formations to start the season, he makes for a strong breakout candidate entering his second season. At the very least, he'll get consistent run in three-wide sets while spelling Washington and Wright in the base offense.

Hunter caught four passes for 111 yards and two touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Saints.
Hunter is still third on the depth chart behind Kendall Wright and Nate Washington, which explains why the 34th overall pick from the 2013 draft was still in Friday's game with the second-team offense. Hunter figures to be on the field any time the Titans go three-wide, and it will come as no surprise if he replaces Washington as the starter across from Wright in two-wide sets. After flashing his big-play ability as a rookie, Hunter is a strong candidate to break out in year two, despite playing in a questionable offense.
Sun Aug 10 201413:28Hunter caught one pass for five yards on two targets in Saturday...
Hunter caught one pass for five yards on two targets in Saturday's preseason opener against the Steelers.
Kendall Wright and Nate Washington were the starters, but Hunter was active with the first-team offense, drawing both of his targets from Jake Locker. For now, the Titans are using Hunter as the No. 3 receiver, with either Wright or Washington typically manning the slot in three-wide sets. Wright's starting spot is secure, but Hunter should push Washington for the other job, and may even stand a chance to usurp the veteran by Week 1.
Sun Aug 3 201417:05Hunter turned in good effort at Friday's practice
Hunter turned in a good effort at Friday's practice, the Titans' official site reports.
Highlights of Hunter's strong practice Friday included the second-year wideout catching two deep balls from backup QB Charlie Whitehurst, as well as adding an acrobatic end zone catch. On the heels of a rookie campaign in which the 2013 second-rounder caught 18 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games, the 6-4 wideout (who saw just 42 targets last season) is poised to see an expanded role in the Titans' offense this season, in tandem with Kendall Wright (94 catches last season) and veteran Nate Washington.
Wed Jun 25 201419:14Titans OC discusses Justin Hunter
Titans OC Jason Michael believes second-year WR Justin Hunter is someone "we've got to keep pushing him to make those next steps."
Hunter, 23, was mostly quiet as a rookie, but did post stat lines of 6-109-1 (Week 12) and 4-114-1 (Week 14) in the only two games he saw more than two targets. "He's shown flashes of making plays," said Michael of Hunter. "He's a big, long receiver that's still growing into the position. As coaches, we've got to keep pushing him to make those next steps. The sky's the limit there."

Fri Jun 6 201414:55Titans WRs coach now talking up Hunter
Titans WRs coach Shawn Jefferson considers Justin Hunter "the receiver that puts us in the playoffs."
Jefferson rode Hunter hard during the run-up to the 2013 season, showing tough love. He now appears to believe Hunter is poised for a year-two leap. "With the growth he is going to go through, if he can keep progressing he can be the receiver that puts us over the edge," said Jefferson. "He has that much potential. He has great ability, and has gotten bigger." Consistency may be elusive, but Hunter is a high-ceiling WR4 fantasy pick in re-draft leagues.

Tue Apr 29 201414:35Justin Hunter up 15 pounds from rookie year
Justin Hunter has gained 15 pounds since the end of last season.
Hunter's goal was to get bigger and stronger heading into his sophomore campaign, and he's now up to 208 pounds after tipping the scales at 193 as a rookie. He should be in for an increased offensive role alongside Kendall Wright and Nate Washington. Hunter was mostly a red-zone weapon only in 2013.

Sun Dec 29 201314:21Justin Hunter hurts shoulder vs. Texans
Justin Hunter exited Sunday's Week 17 game against the Texans with a shoulder injury.
Hunter saw two targets, failing to reel in either, before leaving in the second quarter. Kendall Wright, Nate Washington, and Damian Williams will handle receiver duties for the rest of the afternoon if Hunter is done. Hunter, the 34th overall pick in April's draft has 18 catches for 354 yards and four touchdowns in 2013. He should have a much bigger role on offense as a sophomore.

Sun Dec 22 201317:36Justin Hunter held catchless in Week 16
Justin Hunter was held without a catch in Week 16 against the Jaguars.
He finished with just one target in the passing game. Hunter was as the Titans' No. 3 receiver with Kenny Britt a healthy scratch. He's struggled with inconsistency throughout his rookie season, but has the potential to emerge as a viable WR3 in 2014 fantasy drafts.

Sun Dec 15 201315:03Titans deactivate Justin Hunter for violation
Justin Hunter is inactive for Week 15 against the Cardinals.
It's significant because Hunter is coming off of a huge game against Denver and recently emerged as the Titans' top big-play threat in the passing game. Per the Nashville Tennessean, Hunter is a healthy scratch for violating team rules. The rest of the Titans' Week 15 inactives are QB John Skelton, OL Kevin Matthews, OL Byron Stingily, WR Damian Williams, DB Micah Pellerin, and DT Mike Martin.

Mon Dec 9 201310:07Justin Hunter rotates with Nate, Kendall
Justin Hunter played on 38-of-50 snaps (76.0 percent) in Sunday's loss at Denver.
Interestingly, Nate Washington played 39 snaps and Kendall Wright got 38. So there was no clear-cut options in two-wide sets as all three rotated in evenly. Still, relying on a raw rookie in a Ryan Fitzpatrick offense is a recipe fantasy owners will want to avoid. Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals loom in Week 15.

Sun Dec 8 201320:09Rookie Justin Hunter continues to impress
Justin Hunter caught four passes for 114 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 14 loss at Denver.
Hunter led the team in targets with eight, although he operated as the No. 3 receiver behind Nate Washington and Kendall Wright. His touchdown came when he roasted Quentin Jammer and Ryan Fitzpatrick somehow muscled up for a 41-yard bomb. The second-round rookie is a player, but he's extremely difficult to trust as a WR3 in this passing game. The Week 15 matchup against the Cardinals is no picnic as Hunter might see some of dominant cover corner Patrick Peterson.

Mon Nov 25 201314:45Titans planning 'even more' snaps for Hunter
Speaking Monday, Titans coach Mike Munchak said Justin Hunter earned himself "even more" playing time with Sunday's 6/109/1 performance against the Raiders.
Hunter played 41-of-81 snaps in Oakland, but it wasn't a season high. Hunter was on the field for 54-of-73 plays in Week 10, and was on a similar path in Week 11 before getting knocked out with a concussion. Hunter is worth a flier as a WR4/5, but is going to be a highly inconsistent fantasy option as the No. 3, at best, option in a Ryan Fitzpatrick-led offense.

Sun Nov 24 201319:48Justin Hunter shows up big for Titans
Justin Hunter caught six passes for 109 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 12 win at Oakland.
It was obviously Hunter's best game of the season and it came with Damian Williams sidelined by a quad issue. The rookie made the Raiders look silly on a 54-yard touchdown in the third quarter, catching a pass in front of two defenders about 20 yards down the field and then faking out both of them. Hunter is a talented player, but he's still the No. 3 wideout on a team with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback. He'd be a desperation WR4 against the Colts in Week 13.
