I think we've got to work him back into our process and how we do things. What will determine that is just how fast and how we think he is ready to go."

Hill ran for 152 yards on 27 carries in Sunday's win over the Saints. He added one reception for 13 yards.

Has anyone even noticed that Giovani Bernard has been missing? Hill has been outstanding in Bernard's absence, rushing for 361 yards in three games while averaging a whopping 5.7 yards per carry. Bernard looked pretty nimble while running through some drills on the field before Sunday's game, and a Week 12 return seems like a strong possibility, but Hill has proven that he deserves to remain a significant part of the offense. His workload will take a hit, however, so you'll need to temper your expectations for Hill against the Texans next week if Bernard does indeed play.

It wouldn't surprise us if Hill, who had 12 carries for 55 yards in Week 10's 24-3 loss to the Browns, sees more carries this Sunday, assuming a more favorable game flow, with Rex Burkhead and Cedric Peerman slated to work in reserve/complementary roles.

He later had an impressive 11-yard gain that featured two spin moves, once again showing an aspect of power that Giovani Bernard doesn't offer. Bernard (hip/clavicle) seems like a decent bet to return for next week against the Texans, and while that would unquestionably hurt Hill's value, the rookie figures to maintain a significant role in the offense.

Hill thus has a golden opportunity to build off the 24-carry, 154-yard effort (to go along with two TDs) he turned in against the Jaguars this past Sunday. Working in Hill's favor in that regard in that he'll be squaring off against a Cleveland defense that has allowed a hefty average of 140.3 yards per game on the ground thus far.

Should that transpire, the rookie second-rounder Hill projects to be a superb fantasy play, as the Browns' rush defense currently ranks 30th league-wide.

Also worth noting is that 38 of his Sunday yards came on one garbage-time reception after the starters were pulled. On a more positive note, Hill is still the clear No. 2 running back on a team with an excellent offensive line, and the Bengals' coaching staff has talked about getting him more involved throughout the season.

Hill will see his touches ramp up as the season progresses, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner Jr.

As for Sunday night's tilt against the Patriots, Dehner believes Hill will likely receive somewhere from eight to 13 carries. That level of work would make him a decent flex option in some formats, and Hill owners can be encouraged going forward that the Bengals plan to continue making him a significant part of the offense.

Hill wasn't involved much early, receiving most of his work in the second half, including his four-yard touchdown. Meanwhile, starter Giovani Bernard had 14 carries for 47 yards, and scored twice. Hill is an intriguing prospect, but he's clearly not going to be a huge factor as long as Bernard is healthy.

Hill had 15 carries for 74 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as two catches on two targets for 22 receiving yards Sunday against the Falcons.

The touchdown was the first of his career and came on a one-year run in the third quarter to put the Bengals up 24-3. Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson made a point of saying he'd like to get the ball into Hill's hands more, and he delivered on that in Sunday's blowout. Nevertheless, Giovani Bernard finished with 27 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown, plus an additional 79 yards through the air, so Hill's upside is still capped as long as Bernard is healthy.

Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson plans to give Hill more work in future games. "In that first game AFC North on the road in Baltimore, not that I don't have confidence in Jeremy yet, I just know what I'm getting from Gio every time I hand it to him," Jackson said. "I didn't want to put the other young man in a tough situation where something could have happened and all of a sudden you look back and say, 'What did you do that for?'"

The Bengals were similarly stingy with Gio Bernard in his debut last season, giving him just four carries. The action for Hill will still come - don't cut bait based on one game.

Giovani Bernard, who dominated both the snaps and touches, stayed in the game the only time Cincinnati ventured inside Baltimore's five-yard line. While Hill's debut workload isn't encouraging, it's worth noting that the Bengals largely relied on short passes, with the gameplan playing to Bernard's strengths. Hill looked good on his four carries, and he could see more work next week against the Falcons, as the Atlanta run defense looks quite a bit weaker than Baltimore's.
