Fri Aug 29 201415:02Hill's teammate
Hill's teammate, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, has been released by the Bengals, the team's official site reports.
When the Bengals drafted Hill in May, it was presumed that Green-Ellis could be on his way out. Now that the scenario has transpired, Hill's role as a bruising complement to starter Giovani Bernard appears to have been solidified. Hill finished up the preseason on a high note, carrying 20 times for 90 yards and catching six passes for 70 yards in Thursday's win over the Colts. With Green-Ellis no longer a threat to absorb short-yardage duty in the Bengals' offense, Hill is a candidate to see work in such situations, while working in tandem with Bernard.

Hill, who briefly left Thursday's preseason finale with an elbow injury but later returned, ended up carrying 20 times for 90 yards and caught six passes for 70 yards.
Hill got so much extensive work because the Bengals were resting Giovani Bernard, and fellow running backs BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Cedric Peerman and Rex Burkhead were all out with injuries.

Hill (elbow) returned to Thursday's preseason finale against the Colts.
Hill's elbow issue was clearly a minor one and he's seeing plenty of action in the team's preseason finale. It remains to be seen how much work Hill is in line to see out of the gate, with BenJarvus Green-Ellis still rostered by the Bengals, but the rookie back carries upside in TD-heavy formats, given that he's expected to emerge as a power complement to top back Giovani Bernard as the season rolls along.

Hill is questionable to return to Thursday's game due to a right elbow injury, Paul Dehner of the Cinncinnati Enquirer reports.
Hill had received consistent work prior to exiting, carrying the ball 15 times for 60 yards, and catching all five of his targets for 63 total yards through the air. Giovani Bernard will likely cut into the majority of this workload during the regular season, but the rookie remains an intriguing sleeper in 2014. His status should be updated by the team in the near future, but the ailment doesn't appear to be overly serious at this time.

Hill had 12 carries for 48 yards and made two catches for 10 yards in Sunday's preseason game at Arizona.
Hill saw his first action in the second quarter, after Giovani Bernard got five carries in the opening period. Bernard finished with 10 carries for 17 yards, so Hill was more effective on a per-play basis, although a majority of Hill's carries came against backups. Hill isn't expected to get as much work as Bernard once the regular season starts, but the rookie bruiser could end up being Cincinnati's goal line back, as BenJarvus Green-Ellis seems to be getting phased out of the offense.

Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson indicated that Hill could get some carries with the Bengals' first-team offense in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
In such a scenario, Hill would have an opportunity to run behind the Bengals' projected starting offensive line, with the report also essentially confirming that the rookie back is past the the shoulder issue that he suffered this past Saturday. While Giovani Bernard remains atop the Bengals' RB depth chart, and Benjarvus Green-Ellis remains in the mix, it's not hard to imagine the 6-1, 238-pound Hill carving out a key role in the team's offense out of the gate, in particular in short-yardage situations.
Mon Aug 18 201415:35Hill suited up for Monday's practice
Hill, who left Saturday's preseason game against the Jets with a shoulder injury, suited up for Monday's practice, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.
While it's unclear if the rookie back's shoulder issue will limit him during Monday's workout, Hill's presence in uniform does seem to suggest that his injury is minor.
Sat Aug 16 201421:51Jeremy Hill: (Shoulder) Exits In Third Quarter
Hill left Saturday's preseason game against the Jets with a shoulder injury, ESPN's Coley Harvey reports.
Hill won't return, though that part doesn't carry much meaning in the preseason. He somewhat surprisingly worked behind Benjarvus Green-Ellis in Saturday's game, after the reverse was true in Cincy's preseason opener. While the development is worth keeping a close eye on, Hill should still be viewed as the more valuable commodity. Green-Ellis logged just one rush for three yards, while Hill finished his night with 16 yards on three carries.

Hill entered Thursday's preseason opener against the Chiefs before fellow running back Benjarvus Green-Ellis, and the rookie out of LSU finished his night with 36 yards on six carries.
Hill played well in his first taste of the NFL, as every sign points to him supplanting the Law Firm as Giovani Bernard's partner in crime. Hill will likely get most of the short-yardage work, but Bernard is an easy favorite to lead the Bengals in touches. That said, nobody expects Bernard to tote the rock 300 times, so there should be a good number of carries left for Hill.

Tue Jun 10 201419:48Bengals could play Hill & Bernard together
Per Bengals.com, the team is "toying with" a formation that aligns Gio Bernard and rookie Jeremy Hill on the field together.
Beat writer Geoff Hobson calls it "an alignment that gives the defense pause because both have good hands out of the backfield." Hill has better hands than his college reception total (26) indicates, and superior size to Bernard for picking up oncoming blitzers. It's another indication the Bengals plan to play Hill a lot right away. He's safely ahead of BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Tue May 27 201412:43Jeremy Hill works with 'twos,' ahead of BJGE
Rookie Jeremy Hill opened OTAs as the Bengals' No. 2 tailback receiving handoffs, ahead of BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
New OC Hue Jackson refreshingly has no time for veteran deference. Hill obviously brings a lot more upside to the Bengals' backfield than Green-Ellis, who averaged a career-worst 3.44 YPC last season and turns 29 in July. BJGE scored seven touchdowns in 2013, which should be the "floor" for Hill so long as he wins the No. 2 back job. Giovani Bernard is ticketed for starting duties.
