Jameis Winston had a shaky NFL debut and was especially inaccurate on the three passes he threw to Evans. After suffering a hamstring strain Thursday, Evans only missed a few days of practice. He did deal with a similar injury last offseason, then missed Week 5 with a groin strain. There's no reason to be overly concerned, as things generally seem to be working in Evans' favor as he enters season No. 2, with Vincent Jackson another year older, and first-overall draft pick Jameis Winston likely providing an upgrade at quarterback. Of course, while he can't be much worse than last year's starters, Winston is still a rookie quarterback and therefore a significant source of uncertainty.

The team is yet to release a full report, but it looks as though Evans will likely be limited in the short-term. The second-year receiver, who dealt with a similar injury around this time last year, will be counted on as the No. 1 target in the passing game after a strong debut campaign in which he hauled in 65 passes for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Evans had five catches on six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Saints. The touchdown was his 12th this year, setting the franchise record for most receiving scores in a season, ESPN.com reports.

In addition to his 12 scores, Evans finished the season with 68 catches on 123 targets for 1,051 yards in 15 games, all very solid totals for a rookie wideout. He really came on after the team's Week 7 bye, scoring 10 touchdowns in his last 10 games. The Bucs clinched the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft with the loss, which means Evans could be catching passes from a rookie quarterback next season.
