Sun Sep 13 201515:03Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Inactive In Week 1
Evans (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Titans, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Thus confirms all suspicions for Evans' availability in Week 1. While he gives his hamstring a rest, the Bucs will turn to Louis Murphy to line up opposite Vincent Jackson. In addition to more targets for Murphy, Russell Shepard and Adam Humphries may also factor into the passing game Sunday.

Evans (hamstring) is in line to sit out Sunday's season opener against the Titans, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Official confirmation of such an outcome, either way, is set to arrive upon the release of the Bucs' Week 1 inactives, but at this stage it looks like Tampa Bay will roll with Louis Murphy as the team's No. 2 wideout this week, opposite Vincent Jackson.

Fox's Jay Glazer was even more pessimistic about Evans' status for Sunday, calling him doubtful for the game against the Titans.
Evans will still test the hamstring about 90 minutes before the game, but it's not looking good.

Adam Schefter of ESPN noted that head coach Lovie Smith is generally cautious with hamstring issues, which may hinder Evans' ability to suit up Sunday against the Titans.
Evans intends to test his hamstring in advance of the regular season opener, after which the Buccaneers will make a call on the matter. While Smith will ultimately have authority over the decision, he's also apt to trust in what a player relays about his health, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. No matter what Smith decides, we should know whether Evans will suit up within 90 minutes of Sunday's 4:25 PM ET kickoff, which could put a dent in Louis Murphy's potential output.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Evans (hamstring) "feels good and is optimistic about playing" playing Sunday against the Titans, but a decision on the wideout's Week 1 status won't be made by the Bucs until after Evans works out pre-game.
While that sounds encouraging, Evans is still in the game-time decision category in advance of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff. In the event that Evans ends up limited (or scratched) on Sunday, Louis Murphy could be in line to see added action opposite Vincent Jackson in Week 1.
Fri Sep 11 201514:30Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Questionable For Week 1
Evans (hamstring) was limited at Friday's practice and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, The Tennessean's John Glennon reports.
After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Evans rejoined his teammates for Friday's walkthrough. He appears to be truly questionable, with Bucs head coach Love Smith suggesting Thursday that Evans could come down to a game-time decision. If Evans can't play, Louis Murphy will likely start across from Vincent Jackson, with Russell Shepard serving as the No. 3.
Fri Sep 11 201512:07Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Takes The Field Friday
Evans (hamstring) took the field for Friday's practice, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Evans and the rest of his teammates participated only in a walkthrough Friday, but his presence on the field after two days without practice improves his chances of being ready for Week 1. The Buccaneers will provide an official update on Evans' status when they release their final injury report of the week Friday afternoon.
Thu Sep 10 201516:01Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Could Be Game-Time Call
Head coach Lovie Smith suggested Thursday that Evans (hamstring) could be a game-time call Sunday against the Titans, Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Evans kicked of the week of preparation with two absences in a row, spurring concerns that he may miss the opener. However, Smith relayed that the wide receiver is "getting a whole lot better," thereby improving his stock, however minimal. Friday's injury report could impart any additional progress made by Evans this week, but the Buccaneers' 4:25 PM ET kickoff isn't amenable for a decision that could come down to the wire.
Thu Sep 10 201514:25Mike Evans: Misses Another Practice
Evans (hamstring) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
While Evans' Week 1 status has yet to be clarified by the Bucs, the report suggests that it seems unlikely that the wideout will suit up for Sunday's season opener against the Titans. If Evans is unable to play Sunday, fellow receiver Vincent Jackson figures to be busy, while the likes of Louis Murphy and Russell Shepard could see added looks in the Tampa Bay offense this weekend as well.
Wed Sep 9 201514:20Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Sitting Out Wednesday
Evans (hamstring) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Rick Stroud of Tampa Bay Times reports.
Evans' hamstring injury has extended into the regular season, keeping him on the sideline for the first practice in advance of Week 1. An appearance in drills by Friday would provide some confidence that he'll take the field Sunday against the Titans, but the 4:25 PM ET kickoff is a particular hindrance in the event that his availability comes down to a game-time decision.
Mon Sep 7 201515:25Evans (hamstring) did not practice Monday
Evans (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Auman further relays that coach Lovie Smith doesn't plan to address Evans' injury situation until he's required to so on Wednesday when the Bucs' initial Week 1 practice participation report is released. The Bucs open up their regular season slate against the Titans at 4:25 ET on Sunday, with Evans slated to start at wideout for the team this season opposite Vincent Jackson, health permitting, of course.

Evans (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Evans is also expected to miss the Buccaneers' preseason finale this week. The team seems to be proceeding with extreme caution with its best offensive weapon. Head coach Lovie Smith has not offered any word yet on how the injury might affect the receiver's Week 1 status.

Evans (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game.
Head coach Lovie Smith will keep his word from earlier in the week when he said that Evans would miss Saturday's preseason game as the young wideout works his way back from a hamstring issue. Smith also indicated that Evans would likely miss the preseason finale next week.
Tue Aug 25 201516:16Mike Evans: (Hamstring) Likely Out For Rest Of Preseason
Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith said Evans (hamstring) will likely miss the final two preseason games, Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com reports.
It seems Evans' injury is a bit more serious than the wide receiver initially believed. He left Monday's preseason game in the second quarter and will likely be held out of practice all week. Should Evans' injury linger into the regular season, Louis Murphy will likely join Vincent Jackson in the starting lineup, with Russell Shepard and Kenny Bell possibly also handling expanded roles.

Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith said Evans' hamstring injury does not appear to be serious, ESPN.com reports. "I talked to [Evans] and he didn't feel like it was that serious," Smith said. "We wanted to get our (starters) into the second quarter and then get them out."
Evans was removed from Monday's preseason game against the Bengals in the second quarter, finishing with no receptions on two targets. It sounds like he just suffered a minor strain, but it still won't be surprising if he misses the Bucs' next preseason game Saturday against the Browns. His absence would likely leave more snaps for Louis Murphy, Russell Shepard, Kenny Bell and Robert Herron, all of whom are vying for roles behind Evans and Vincent Jackson.

Evans suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of Monday's preseason game against the Bengals and will not return, ESPN.com reports.
Evans' hamstring tweak will force him into an early exit Monday, but it's unclear how the ailment will impact his availability moving forward. Expect more news surrounding Evans' status to surface following Monday's game and during the practice week.

Evans did not catch any of his three targets in Saturday's preseason opener against the Vikings.
Jameis Winston had a shaky NFL debut and was especially inaccurate on the three passes he threw to Evans. The Bucs' starters will likely have a busy preseason, as only the Jaguars are similarly reliant on first and second-year players in key roles. Evans may not have anything to prove in the exhibition games, but the progress of Winston and the offensive line will be well worth keeping an eye on.
Tue Jun 2 201514:22Evans (hamstring) back at practice Tuesday
Evans (hamstring) is back at practice Tuesday, Scott Smith of buccaneers.com reports.
After suffering a hamstring strain Thursday, Evans only missed a few days of practice. He did deal with a similar injury last offseason, then missed Week 5 with a groin strain. There's no reason to be overly concerned, as things generally seem to be working in Evans' favor as he enters season No. 2, with Vincent Jackson another year older, and first-overall draft pick Jameis Winston likely providing an upgrade at quarterback. Of course, while he can't be much worse than last year's starters, Winston is still a rookie quarterback and therefore a significant source of uncertainty.

Evans left Thursday's OTA practice early due to a right hamstring strain, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The team is yet to release a full report, but it looks as though Evans will likely be limited in the short-term. The second-year receiver, who dealt with a similar injury around this time last year, will be counted on as the No. 1 target in the passing game after a strong debut campaign in which he hauled in 65 passes for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Sun Dec 28 201419:49Evans had five catches on six targets for 54 yards and touchdown...
Evans had five catches on six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Saints. The touchdown was his 12th this year, setting the franchise record for most receiving scores in a season, ESPN.com reports.
In addition to his 12 scores, Evans finished the season with 68 catches on 123 targets for 1,051 yards in 15 games, all very solid totals for a rookie wideout. He really came on after the team's Week 7 bye, scoring 10 touchdowns in his last 10 games. The Bucs clinched the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft with the loss, which means Evans could be catching passes from a rookie quarterback next season.
