Rodgers caught one pass for one yard in Sunday's victory over the Panthers.
Rodgers played the most snaps of any Packers tight end, but that did not lead to any significant fantasy production. His reception in Sunday's game was his first since Week 4.

Rodgers was not targeted in Thursday's 42-10 win over the Vikings.
The Green Bay tight ends have accounted for just two targets in each of the last two games, with Rodgers gobbling up both in Sunday's win over the Bears, followed by Andrew Quarless getting both during Thursday's contest. The Packers' tight ends have been minimally involved in the passing game this season, with Quarless accounting for 10 of the position group's 12 receptions.

Rodgers caught two passes for 52 yards in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
Rodgers' receptions were the first two of his professional career, and they both came on the Packers' first drive of the game. Rodgers was not targeted after that, so though he finished third among Packers pass catchers in receiving yards Sunday, don't necessarily consider him the third option in the passing game moving forward. He figures to have an opportunity to secure a more prominent role, however, as the starting tight end on a Packers team looking for a reliable third option in the passing game.

Rodgers did not catch a pass in Sunday's victory over the Jets.
Rodgers had one ball thrown his direction but he and quarterback Aaron Rodgers could not connect. Rodgers has started both games the Packers have played this season, but he has yet to catch a pass.

Rodgers (neck) wasn't listed on the Packers' injury report Wednesday, the team's official site reports.
After leaving in the second quarter of his NFL debut last Thursday due to a neck injury, Rodgers returned a few series late but didn't garner a single target. He's currently listed as the No. 1 tight end on the depth chart, but in Week 1, Andrew Quarless was the sole TE considered by Aaron Rodgers, hauling in three passes (on four targets) for 26 yards. Meanwhile, Rodgers, the rookie, may once again find little breathing room against a stout Jets defense Sunday, making him an unpalatable fantasy option.

Rodgers (neck) returned for the second half after exiting Thursday's game against the Seahawks in the second quarter, Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Though he started and only missed a couple of series, Rodgers finished the night without a target, while fellow Packers tight end Andrew Quarless caught three passes for 26 yards on four targets. With the two players likely to share both snaps and targets, neither shapes up as a strong fantasy option for Week 2 against the Jets. Rodgers' return to Thursday's game indicates that he'll likely play, but it still won't be surprising if he's on next week's injury report.

Rodgers suffered a neck injury during the second quarter of Thursday's regular season opener versus the Seahawks and is listed as questionable to return, ESPN reports.
Rodgers reportedly suffered a stinger, which comes with an uncertain timetable for his return. While the rookie remains sidelined, Andrew Quarless will receive Green Bay's snaps at tight end.

Rodgers is listed as the starting tight end on the Packers' latest depth chart.
Rodgers was a relative unknown heading into this year's draft, and could be pushed for the starting job by either a healthy Brandon Bostick (leg) or Andrew Quarless, but it looks like he is on pace to open his rookie season the starting tight end in one of the league's top offenses.

Rodgers caught a pass for 17 yards on his only target in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs.
Rodgers had a better receiving game than Andrew Quarless, who caught one pass for six yards on three targets. Having started each of the four preseason games, Rodgers is the obvious favorite to start for Green Bay in Week 1, though Quarless will likely still have a role in the offense. Once Brandon Bostick (leg) returns -- which could happen within the first few weeks of the season -- the competition for snaps may run three deep.

Rodgers caught two passes for 40 yards on three targets in Friday's preseason game against the Raiders.
Rodgers once again got the start, making him 3-for-3 so far this preseason. Andrew Quarless had a quiet night with just one catch for six yards, further aiding Rodgers' cause to land the starting job. While he's shaping up as the obvious bet to be the Week 1 starter, Rodgers may still lose some snaps to Quarless and Brandon Bostick (leg), the latter of whom is expected to miss at least the first game of the season.

Rodgers may be edging closer to winning the Packers' starting tight end job, ESPN.com reports.
Rodgers opened with Green Bay's first-team offense for the second straight game, although he wasn't targeted in Saturday's most recent preseason outing. Nonetheless, he ranked second among Packers tight ends with 17 snaps Saturday, which was only bested by Andrew Quarless, who was the third tight end to enter the game for Green Bay. Should Rodgers start Friday's preseason game as well, that could be telling regarding his role for the upcoming season.

Rodgers wasn't targeted during Saturday's preseason win at St. Louis.
After surprisingly getting the start in the Packers' exhibition opener, Rodgers failed to repeat last Saturday's one-catch performance. On the other hand, Andrew Quarless was heavily used, leading all receivers with four receptions for 58 yards. The development isn't a shock, especially with the first-team offense intact for the first time this preseason. Consequently, Quarless is the tight end to focus on in Green Bay, as Rodgers is apt to endure rookie blues throughout his initial campaign.
Sat Aug 9 201422:51Rodgers started Saturday's preseason opener against Titans
Rodgers started Saturday's preseason opener against the Titans, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Ty Dunne reports.
Rodgers got the nod ahead of Brandon Bostick and Andrew Quarless, the latter of whom is listed atop the initial depth chart. It's intriguing that Rodgers was targeted thrice in limited playing time, even if he only caught one pass for 10 yards. This battle is worth keeping an eye on, although No. 3 wideout Jarret Boykin will likely be more productive than whichever player starts at tight end.
Fri Jul 11 201415:25Aaron Rodgers impressed by rookie TE
Aaron Rodgers emerged from spring practices impressed by third-round TE Richard Rodgers.
"When we made the pick, some of the so-called experts on the draft channel said he was a late sixth-round pick ... which is pretty laughable when you watch the talent he's got and the ability," said Green Bay's All-Pro quarterback. "You have to be excited about his body type and the hands. He's made some incredible catches, makes it look easy. I think he's going to push for some playing time if he can transfer what he's done in the spring now to the fall and have the potential to be an impact player." Although rookie tight ends tend to struggle, Rodgers is in a good enough landing spot to buck that trend, and has a chance to start in Green Bay. He's someone to monitor closely this summer.

Thu Jun 26 201409:30Packers rookie TE Rodgers an 'MVP of OTAs'
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel highlighted Packers third-round TE Richard Rodgers as "an MVP of OTAs."
Beat writer Tyler Dunne notes Rodgers was plucking passes out of the air one-handed and says if he can prove to be a decent in-line blocker, Rodgers could open the season as the starter. Andrew Quarless isn't going to scare anyone, and Brandon Bostick reported to spring practices overweight. The Packers' tight end depth chart remains wide open, but it appears Rodgers has the early lead. Any tight end playing with Aaron Rodgers is going to be worth monitoring.

Sat Jun 21 201414:09Rodgers' in pole position to be starting TE?
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky said it "appears" third-round rookie Richard Rodgers has the inside track for Green Bay's starting tight end position.
Demovsky said Rodgers size and athleticism stood out during the non-contact practices, and that he made an "eye-catching play" at least once a practice. Despite being viewed as more of a developmental prospect when he was selected, there seems to be a chance Rodgers beats out Andrew Quarless and Brandon Bostick for the starting job. Rodgers has a long way to go, however, and will have to prove he is an able blocker before getting any real work with the first-team. He is a player to keep an eye on during training camp.
