Fri Mar 8 201310:09Colts trying to keep CB Jerraud Powers
The Colts are trying to re-sign CB Jerraud Powers before the start of free agency.
"They are making a concerted effort to get something done," Powers' agent said. "They've made it clear they want him and Jerraud has made it clear he wants to stay." Powers' rep did add "we're also aware there will be a market for him." The Colts aren't going to keep Powers for less than market value.

Mon Feb 25 201319:14Chargers may make a run at Jerraud Powers
According to the Union-Tribune San Diego, the Chargers "look to be considering a run" at free agent CB Jerraud Powers.
Both of the Chargers' incumbent starting cornerbacks (Antoine Cason, Quentin Jammer) are free agents, and Powers played in a defensive scheme similar to Chargers DC John Pagano's under Pagano's brother, Chuck, in Indianapolis last season. Powers is a talented 25-year-old who's mostly underachieved to this point in his career. He's not likely to break the bank in free agency.

Fri Feb 22 201315:50Pagano hopes Colts re-sign CB Powers
Coach Chuck Pagano is "keeping his fingers crossed" and hopes the Colts re-sign free agent CB Jerraud Powers.
"If he's not [playing for us], he's going to be playing for somebody and playing good football," said Pagano. Powers is part of a deep free-agent cornerback class, so he could likely be re-signed at a reasonable price. The Colts would be wise to aim higher, though.

Thu Feb 21 201317:07Free agent CB Powers' toe is healed
Colts GM Ryan Grigson says free agent CB Jerraud Powers' toe is healed.
Powers went on injured reserve after Week 9 due to turf toe and underwent surgery to reattach a torn ligament to his right big toe. His future with the Colts is up in the air, but the team needs an upgrade opposite Vontae Davis. Powers should be ready for OTAs.

Mon Nov 12 201215:07Colts place CB Powers on injured reserve
Colts placed CB Jerraud Powers (toe) on injured reserve, ending his season.
It's a disappointing end to a disappointing season for Powers, who finished 78th among 105 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' 2012 cornerback ratings. Powers is scheduled for free agency in 2013. While the 25-year-old has flashed starting-caliber ability in the past, Powers has always been inconsistent and hasn't played more than 12 games in any of his four seasons. For a playoff contending Colts team, this is still a significant blow.

Tue Nov 6 201212:39Jerraud Powers won't play on Thursday
Colts CB Jerraud Powers (toe) will not play in Thursday's game against the Jaguars.
The Colts will be without Powers and Vontae Davis (knee). It would be a concern if they were facing a real passing offense. Look for Cassius Vaughn and Darius Butler to start.

Sun Nov 4 201216:00Colts CB Powers exits with toe injury
Colts CB Jerraud Powers left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a toe injury.
He's questionable to return. Ryan Tannehill had been exploiting the Brian Hartine-Powers matchup throughout the first three quarters. Former Patriots second-rounder Darius Butler has come on as his replacement.

Sun Apr 29 201213:16Jerraud Powers to stay at right cornerback
The new Colts coaching staff plans to keep Jerraud Powers as their starting right cornerback.
They must like what they've seen on tape. Powers dabbled with shadowing opposing No. 1 receivers last year, but Chuck Pagano typically "plays sides" at corner, using one at left cornerback and the other on the right side. Powers is ticketed for RCB. The left cornerback job will be wide open entering camp.

Mon Dec 5 201117:23Colts lose top CB Powers for rest of season
Colts CB Jerraud Powers is done for the season with an elbow injury.
The Colts confirmed that Powers' elbow "popped out" in Sunday's loss to the Patriots, and an MRI apparently showed ligament damage even after X-rays came back negative. Powers was Indianapolis' top cornerback and had been shadowing No. 1 receivers of late. The Colts' run defense is arguably worse, but this will remain a pass defense to target during the fantasy playoffs.

Colts CB Jerraud Powers said X-rays on his elbow Sunday came back negative.

Mon Oct 17 201110:52Powers cites a miracle Sunday
Colts CB Jerraud Powers said it was a miracle that he was able to play through his hamstring injury Sunday.
Powers didn't practice all week and then played the whole game yesterday. Despite giving up a touchdown to A.J. Green, he held up well. Without Powers, the Colts' secondary goes from bad to horrific.

Updating a previous item, Colts RCB Jerraud Powers (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Fri Oct 14 201110:04Colts CB Powers expected to miss Week 6
Colts RCB Jerraud Powers (hamstring) is expected to miss this week's game against the Bengals.
Powers sustained the injury in last week's game. All of Indy's corners have struggled this season, but Powers is the best of the bunch. As long as Andy Dalton can avoid Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis, he should have success in this matchup.

Mon Feb 14 201110:58Powers' arm doing just fine
Jerraud Powers (forearm surgery) threw out the first pitch at a college baseball game Sunday and said his arm is "fine."
Powers is already more than two months removed from surgery and is clearly recovering well. The 2009 third-round pick was terrific before going down last year and will be a big boost to the Colts' secondary in 2011. He won't have to fight for a his starting gig.

Tue Dec 7 201015:07Colts lose CB Jerraud Powers for the season
Colts placed CB Jerraud Powers (forearm) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Powers underwent surgery Tuesday morning to insert six screws and a plate into his right forearm. Beat writer Phillip Wilson speculates that Kelvin Hayden (neck) could return this week, though that's far from certain. Jacob Lacey and Justin Tryon will both see action in Powers' place, which is great news for a Titans offense that hasn't scored a touchdown in nearly a month. Powers will return as a starter in 2011.
Tue Dec 7 201011:31Report: Powers has forearm surgery Tuesday
Colts CB Jerraud Powers had surgery Tuesday to insert six screws and a plate to repair his right forearm, according to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky.
Neither Kuharsky nor the Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell knows if Powers will be placed on injured reserve or possibly return later this season. The Colts are also without fellow starting cornerback Kelvin Hayden (neck), leaving them vulnerable to the pass.

Tue Dec 7 201010:48Powers no necessarily done for season
Colts CB Jerraud Powers (broken forearm) isn't necessarily done for the season.
The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell writes that it's possible Powers will only miss a few games. He added, though, that injured reserve is also an option. It would seem to be a huge risk to put him out there with a fractured forearm, but perhaps the Colts think there's a way to limit his chance at making the ailment worse. Stay tuned.
