Rockies signed C Steve Holm to a minor league contract.
Holm, 32, batted .118/.167/.176 in a cup of coffee (18 plate appearances) with the Twins last season. He'll function as organizational catching depth for the Rox.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he expects Drew Butera and Steve Holm to share time behind the plate while Joe Mauer is out.
"We're going to mix them both in there and see what happens there,'' Gardenhire said "Drew is a very good catch-and-thrower and Steve can do those things, too. And we liked [Holm] him in spring training. Actually hit the ball pretty good for us." Holm is a bit better at the plate, but neither player will be a viable fantasy option while they're splitting time.

Twins purchased the contract of C Steve Holm from Triple-A Rochester.
Holm is taking Joe Mauer's roster spot and will slide immediately into a backup role with the Twins. The 31-year-old has only 107 career MLB plate appearances.
