Mon Aug 25 2014 | 14:50 | Williams released by Ravens |
Williams has been released by the Ravens, the team's official website reports. |
A contributor on special teams in 2011 and 2012, Williams failed to make the Ravens' final roster for a second straight year. Following his release, there are three candidates -- Kamar Aiken, Deonte Thompson and Michael Campanaro -- for the fifth and (possibly) sixth receiver spots. |

Ravens signed WR LaQuan Williams. |
A 2011 undrafted free agent, Williams is a workout warrior with just four catches across 23 games. If he has a shot at cracking the 53-man roster, it's as a special teamer. |

Patriots signed WR LaQuan Williams. |
Williams could be taking the roster spot of Austin Collie (knee), which isn't a good sign for Kenbrell Thompkins' prospects of getting a jersey on Sundays anytime soon. The former Raven is expected to contribute mostly on special teams. Williams has four catches in 23 career games. |

Ravens WR LaQuan Williams suffered a hamstring injury in Thursday's preseason finale. |
It's poor timing, as Williams is fighting for a roster spot. The third-year undrafted free agent finished the exhibition season with just three catches for 43 yards and a score. Even with the Ravens repurposing their receiver corps, Williams would likely again be limited to special teams if he cracked the roster. |

Ravens WR LaQuan Williams has a "tough shoulder injury," but could be back by next week. |

Wed Dec 26 2012 | 14:33 | LaQuan Williams sent to injured reserve |
Ravens placed WR LaQuan Williams on injured reserve, ending his season. |
It's believed to be an ankle injury that's ended Williams' year. A deep reserve, Williams appeared in just 11 games on special teams this season, and failed to play a snap on offense. The second-year undrafted free agent will have to claw for a roster spot in 2013. |

Fri Aug 17 2012 | 22:44 | LaQuan Williams has nice night vs. Detroit |
Targeted six times, LaQuan Williams caught two passes for 22 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Lions. |
Joe Flacco's go-to target on Baltimore's first two drives, Williams had one potential catch broken up by a defender and let another one slip through his hands. He was targeted primarily outside the numbers, and showed good acceleration on his two grabs. An offseason puff-piece All Star, Williams has three catches for 38 yards this summer. His role on offense should remain minimal. |

Tue Jul 10 2012 | 09:30 | LaQuan Williams draws more hype |
According to BaltimoreRavens.com, LaQuan Williams had "perhaps the best" offseason of any Ravens wideout. |
Reporter Ryan Mink believes Williams could be in the mix for the Ravens' No. 3 receiver role, but concedes Jacoby Jones' salary likely makes him the favorite. Williams was a puff-piece All Star this offseason, but will have to be equally impressive in pads in camp to hold his roster spot, let alone expand his minimal role on offense. |

According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens WR LaQuan Williams has "really stood out" at OTAs. |
Per beat writer Matt Vensel, Williams appears "a little more polished," while OC Cam Cameron says he's also noticed improvement. However, even Williams acknowledges he's facing an uphill battle for a roster spot following the arrival of Jacoby Jones and Tommy Streeter. "I have to make plays on both sides of the field, on offense and special teams, to make sure I'm here." |

Mon May 21 2012 | 10:29 | Odds 'stacked against' LaQuan Williams |
The Carroll County Times believes the odds are "stacked against" second-year Ravens WR LaQuan Williams keeping his roster spot. |
An undrafted free agent, Williams cracked the Ravens' 53 on the back of a strong preseason, but caught just four passes in 12 games. He was given a chance at return duties early in the season, but returned only two kicks and zero punts after Week 4. The arrival of Jacoby Jones and Tommy Streeter sealed Williams' Baltimore fate. |

Sat Dec 10 2011 | 10:29 | LaQuan Williams a healthy scratch last week |
Rookie Ravens WR LaQuan Williams was a healthy scratch in Week 13. |
Briefly the Ravens' kick returner earlier this season, Williams has been targeted just 12 times in 11 games after making a splash during the preseason. Despite being exceedingly explosive in space, Williams won't be guaranteed a roster spot next summer. He's a poor own even in deeper dynasty leagues. |

Tue Sep 6 2011 | 19:54 | LaQuan Williams to handle punt returns |
Rookie WR LaQuan Williams will enter Week 1 as the Ravens' primary punt returner. |
Williams proved to be explosive in space during exhibition action, and the Ravens also have plans for a "special package" of plays for him against the Steelers. Williams, Tandon Doss, and Torrey Smith are candidates to return kickoffs. |

Sat Aug 27 2011 | 10:36 | LaQuan Williams could make Ravens |
Undrafted Ravens WR LaQuan Williams is making a "strong push" to make the team. |
The Ravens parted ways with nine players on Saturday, but opted to keep Williams over the more experienced Justin Harper. He's reeled in four catches for 84 yards through Baltimore's first three preseason games. If he does make the team, his contributions are likely to come solely on special teams. |
