Mon Oct 15 201217:27Packers place Saine on injured reserve
Packers placed RB Brandon Saine on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.
A second-year UDFA out of Ohio State, Saine has been unremarkable in his brief career, rushing 18 times for 69 yards in his first season but showing some passing-down chops. The ACL tear could threaten Saine's long-term NFL outlook.

Mon Oct 15 201210:47Brandon Saine could be done for the season
Coach Mike McCarthy called Brandon Saine's knee injury "significant."
McCarthy rarely comments on injuries immediately after games, so there's speculation that Saine could be done for the season. The Packers only healthy tailbacks right now are Alex Green and James Starks.

Sun Oct 14 201222:40Brandon Saine departs with knee injury
Brandon Saine was forced from Sunday night's game with a knee injury, and will not return.
Saine was seeing extremely limited touches before departing, and had yet to notch a carry. He had to be carted to the locker room. It's bad news for a Packers' running back corps still adjusting to the loss of Cedric Benson, but Saine is a distant third on the depth chart behind Alex Green and James Starks.

Mon Aug 27 201201:09Brandon Saine resumes practicing
Packers RB Brandon Saine (hamstring) has resumed practicing at training camp.
Saine missed the majority of camp and each of the first three preseason games, but the organization is high enough on him that Saine is expected to make the final roster. A 2011 undrafted free agent out of Ohio State, Saine averaged 3.83 yards per carry as a rookie, but made four special teams tackles.

Sun Aug 12 201221:24Brandon Saine out with hamstring injury
Packers RB Brandon Saine has yet to practice in training camp due to a hamstring injury.
We heard some desperation hype on Saine before training camp, but he was never much of a player to begin with and has been on the shelf. It's fair to wonder whether he'll even make the final roster, assuming James Starks comes back healthy from turf toe. The Packers also have Alex Green and signed Cedric Benson.

Mon Jun 11 201216:21Brandon Saine showing consistency
Coach Mike McCarthy referred to Brandon Saine as potentially the most consistent of the Packers' running backs.
Saine may be consistent, but he doesn't have the same talent or pedigree as James Starks or Alex Green. The former undrafted free agent turned practice squad back projects as the No. 3 tailback in training camp as long as Green (torn ACL) is ready to go.

Sun Jan 1 201218:41Saine goes for 45 total yards in Week 17
Brandon Saine rushed for 28 yards on eight carries and caught three passes for 17 yards in the Packers' Week 17 win over the Lions.
Saine is trusted enough by the coaching staff in passing situations that it's a shame he's not much of a runner. He will return to fourth-string running duties when James Starks gets back from his ankle injury during the playoffs. Starks, Ryan Grant, and John Kuhn are all ahead in the pecking order.

Mon Dec 26 201111:00Saine returns with one carry
Brandon Saine (concussion) returned to action in Week 16 with one carry for eight yards.
Saine played behind Ryan Grant, James Starks and John Kuhn. But with Starks aggravating his ankle injury and the Packers already locking up home-field advantage, Saine could play a major role against the Lions in Week 17. Fantasy owners still grinding should consider an add.

Mon Dec 5 201108:50Brandon Saine wasn't limited in playbook
Packers RB Brandon Saine wasn't limited to any specific plays in Sunday's win over the Giants.
With James Starks' ankle injury acting up again, Saine was ready to handle the entire playbook. He ended up with 10 touches yesterday compared to 14 for Ryan Grant. "I was ready to go," Saine said. "The coaches did a great job getting me prepared." Thanks to his skills as a pass-catcher, the undrafted rookie should be on fantasy radars heading into Week 14. Starks likely needs at least one week off.
