Fri Mar 8 201311:16G-Men not re-signing Kregg Lumpkin
The Giants won't re-sign free agent Kregg Lumpkin.
Signed off the street in November, Lumpkin didn't show enough in five games to make himself a part of the post-Ahmad Bradshaw landscape. Lumpkin turns 29 in May.

Sun Dec 16 201217:05Lumpkin rushes for 42 yards in Week 15
Kregg Lumpkin rushed nine times for 42 yards at Atlanta in Week 15.
He wasn't merely relegated to passing-down duties. Lumpkin spelled David Wilson for a series here and there, including one successful stretch with a series of draw plays. He ended up losing a fumble 20+ yards down the field after John Abraham punched it out. That won't win him any favors with coach Tom Coughlin. Lumpkin is unworthy of a fantasy roster spot entering Week 16.

Tue Nov 27 201214:03Giants set to sign RB Kregg Lumpkin
Giants agreed to terms with RB Kregg Lumpkin.
Lumpkin won out over veterans Cadillac Williams, Ryan Grant, and Ryan Torain, who also worked out for the Giants on Tuesday. Lumpkin won't have fantasy value as the third-stringer. He averaged just 3.4 yards on 31 carries with the Bucs last season.

Tue Sep 18 201215:45Seahawks release RB Kregg Lumpkin
Seahawks released RB Kregg Lumpkin.
Lumpkin surprisingly survived final cuts, but is no longer needed now that Marshawn Lynch's back spasms are in the past. Lumpkin has averaged 3.8 yards on 33 career carries over five seasons.

Fri Mar 23 201216:39Seahawks agree to deal with Kregg Lumpkin
Seahawks agreed to terms with RB Kregg Lumpkin, formerly of the Bucs.
Lumpkin is a serviceable pass protector and plays on special teams, but he offers next to no explosiveness as a runner. He'll compete for a roster spot.

Thu Mar 22 201209:53Seahawks to host free agent Kregg Lumpkin
The Seahawks will host RB Kregg Lumpkin for a free agent visit on Thursday.
The meeting will extend into Friday. Lumpkin was not tendered as a restricted free agent by the Bucs. He'd have to battle for a roster spot in Seattle.

Wed Oct 26 201117:43Lumpkin expected to be Bucs' third-down back
With LeGarrette Blount (knee) fully expected back after the Week 8 bye, Kregg Lumpkin is expected to be the Bucs' third-down back only moving forward.
He's taking the place of Earnest Graham, who was amongst the league leaders in receptions before tearing his Achilles in Week 7. Lumpkin has shown next to nothing as a runner this season, but does have 12 catches in limited playing time. He's worth a look in PPR leagues.

The St. Petersburg Times expects the Bucs to address the running back position during their bye week.

Sun Oct 23 201117:19Lumpkin shows nothing in relief of Graham
On in relief of an injured Earnest Graham, Kregg Lumpkin carried the ball eight times for 15 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bears, adding six catches for 37 yards.
Lumpkin showed nothing as a runner, getting stopped for a loss or no gain on five of his eight carries. With Graham feared done for the season with a torn Achilles' tendon, the Bucs will be in big trouble if LeGarrette Blount (knee) isn't healthy coming off their Week 8 bye. For now, Lumpkin is a must add for any Graham or Blount owner, but don't be surprised if the Bucs hit the open market looking for an upgrade this week.

Thu Oct 6 201114:54Bucs coach: Lumpkin earning more time
Coordinator Greg Olsen indicated that RB Kregg Lumkin has had two good weeks of practice and is on the verge of earning more playing time.
We've reached the point with Lumpkin where we'll believe it when we see it. Bucs coaches have been talking him up for two years now, but he has just five receptions for 38 yards and zero rushing attempts.

Sat Aug 13 201113:28Lumpkin has solid preseason debut
Kregg Lumpkin carried the ball six times for 24 yards and hauled in two catches for 10 yards in the Bucs' preseason opener on Friday.
All but one of Lumpkin's touches came in the first half. The St. Petersburg Times believes Lumpkin's performance gives the Bucs reason to believe he could be "their solution as a third-down and change-of-pace back" behind LeGarrette Blount. He'll be given ample opportunity to prove himself this preseason after Tampa let Cadillac Williams leave for St. Louis.

Tue Jun 28 201121:30Bucs RB Lumpkin well-liked by coaching staff
Bucs RB Kregg Lumpkin is reportedly "well liked by the coaching and front office staffs" in Tampa.
He must be loved like the family dog. Lumpkin was limited to special teams duty last season, seeing just one rushing attempt. That speaks volumes considering Cadillac Williams' flirtation with 3.0 yards per carry early in the season when the coaches also deemed LeGarrette Blount not ready for primetime. Lumpkin won't be guaranteed a roster spot this summer.

Thu Oct 21 201020:38Lumpkin seeing reps at fullback
Kregg Lumpkin has been getting a lot of reps at fullback during this week's practice.
It's definitely a sign that Lumpkin isn't in the mix to take carries from Cadillac Williams. It could also be an indication that Earnest Graham will be freed up from the lead-blocking role to take on more tailback touches.

Sun Oct 10 201012:07Lumpkin among Bucs inactives
Bucs declared RB Kregg Lumpkin, FB Chris Pressley, C Ted Larsen, WR Maurice Stovall, WR Preston Parker, DT Ryan Sims, CB Myron Lewis and third QB Rudy Carpenter inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
No surprises here. The Bucs have all four of their candidates for carries active in Caddy Williams, Earnest Graham, Kareem Huggins and LeGarrette Blount.
Tue Sep 21 201011:19Lumpkin/Blount could be involved after bye
Wolf Heard of PewterReport.com expects RBs Kregg Lumpkin and LeGarrette Blount to be more involved in the offense after the team's Week 4 bye.
Neither back has seen a carry yet, and Blount hasn't even been active. But Cadillac Williams and Earnest Graham are averaging under 2.4 YPC between them the first two weeks. This would seem to indicate that Heard believes Kareem Huggins is best suited for a third-down role. If you have room feel free to stash Lumpkin or Blount or both.

Sun Sep 5 201014:14Bucs claim RB Lumpkin
Bucs claimed RB Kregg Lumpkin off waivers from the Packers.
Lumpkin can pick up the blitz, making him a better option than Clifton Smith on passing downs. Not an explosive runner, however, Lumpkin won't put heat on the Bucs' top two backs -- Caddy Williams and Kareem Huggins.

Sat Sep 4 201014:03Lumpkin dumped by Packers
Packers waived RB Kregg Lumpkin.
It's a bit of a surprise considering both James Starks and Quinn Porter are hurt. The Packers are likely going to keep three fullbacks while trying to sneak Lumpkin on to their practice squad again.

Thu Aug 26 201023:39Lumpkin plays ahead of Quinn Porter
Kregg Lumpkin rushed nine times for 26 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason matchup against the Colts.
Lumpkin hadn't practiced of late due to a hamstring injury, but he entered the game ahead of Quinn Porter (three rushes, 12 yards). The coaching staff probably wanted to give Lumpkin a good look before deciding which back will enter the season third on the depth chart. James Starks (hamstring) is still without a timetable for a return.
Thu Aug 19 201010:54Lumpkin back in the trainer's room
Packers RB Kregg Lumpkin is expected to be held out of Saturday's game with a hamstring injury.
Lumpkin just can't stay out of the trainer's room. His and Ryan Grant's hamstring injuries are Quinn Porter's gain, and the undrafted rookie has earned the attention of the coaching staff. "There's something about him I like," said coordinator Joe Philbin. Porter has an edge on Lumpkin at this point.
