Sat Jun 2213:50Ivan Herrera Hits 10-Day Injured List
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday, June 22, with lower back tightness. The 24-year-old backstop has been out of the lineup for the past two games and will now remain sidelined for at least the next week. As a result, the Cardinals promoted Nick Raposo from Triple-A Memphis to fill the empty roster spot. Herrera has performed very well through 54 games this season with a .279/.340/.378 slash line with 19 RBI, three long balls, and four swiped bags. Pedro Pages will now see the majority of starts behind the dish while Herrera remains sidelined but could revert back to the bench as Willison Contreras (forearm) is projected to return from the injured list on June 24. Pages is worth a look in DFS this weekend and could be a popular streaming option in NL-only formats as he has launched two home runs in his previous seven games.

Thu Jun 2017:30Ivan Herrera Dealing With Back Injury, Sitting On Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera (back) is not in Thursday's lineup as he is dealing with a back issue, as per Katie Woo of The Athletic. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being. As a result, Pedro Pages will be behind the dish this evening and will bat in the eight-hole. Herrera has been a bit of a time split with Pages as of late but has continued to produce with a solid .327/.377/.469 slash line through June. Pages has launched two home runs in his past six games and has begun to find his footing at the major league level after getting off to a slow start. Both Pages and Herrera will lose playing time once Willson Contreras (forearm) returns next week and one of them could be optioned to Triple-A. Pages is worth a look this evening in DFS as he will face Giants right-hander Keaton Winn, who enters this match with a hefty 6.66 ERA.

Mon Apr 2915:00Ivan Herrera Out Of Starting Lineup On Monday
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera will not start in the team's series opener against the Detroit Tigers. With Willson Contreras starting behind the plate and Paul Goldschmidt starting as the designated hitter, Herrera will take a sit for the second time in three days. The young catcher was off to a hot start at the plate but has since cooled down. He is hitless over his last 15 at-bats with six strikeouts. The 23-year-old doesn't have much fantasy value right now, considering he is behind Contreras on the depth chart. So, he is likely only a fantasy option in extremely deep formats.

Sat Apr 614:48Ivan Herrera Batting Cleanup On Saturday
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera will hit in the fourth spot in the order in Saturday's game against the Marlins. The 23-year-old backstop will face off against LHP Trevor Rogers. Herrera collected his first MLB home run on Thursday and is 4-for-9 over his last two games. He could be a potential waiver wire pickup if Willson Contreras' hand becomes more than a day-to-day issue and could certainly be a candidate for DFS lineups when he is in there.

Fri Apr 510:04Ivan Herrera Goes Yard
St. Louis Cardinals backup catcher Ivan Herrera went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI in Thursday's victory against the Miami Marlins. Herrera is now 4-for-12 on the season with four RBI. The 23-year-old has been off to a nice start to the season, but is nothing more than a backup to All-Star catcher Willson Contreras. Unless Contreras were to get hurt, Herrera can remain on the waiver wire.

Fri Jun 17 202211:33Ivan Herrera Recalled From Minors
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera has been recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Friday. Veteran catcher Yadier Molina (knee) was placed on the injured list, retroactive June 16. That being said, Herrera has been recalled to take over Molina's spot on the active roster. The expectation is that Herrera will catch a few times a week while Molina is sidelined. However, Andrew Knizner figures to do a majority of the catching in St. Louis. Neither of these players are expected to have much fantasy value.
