He'll throw from a flat mound Friday, which will be the first time since landing on the DL that he's pushed off a rubber. The Orioles won't provide a timetable for Patton until he throws from a full mound.

Orioles placed LHP Troy Patton the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle.
Patton rolled the ankle earlier this week while walking to his car in a parking garage. He told reporters that he will be ready for activation once his 15 days are up.

Patton is out of options and would be exposed to waivers if he doesn't make the team. Phillips' bullpen spot is looking pretty secure after an impressive spring, and could be used as a long reliever if needed.

The Orioles are expected to place Troy Patton on the restricted list before Saturday's doubleheader as he travels back to Houston in preparation of his Monday hearing for his DUI arrest.
It's possible Patton might miss just the doubleheader and return on Monday, or he might not be back until Tuesday. Mark Hendrickson is the most likely candidate to be promoted to take his spot.

It makes sense, since Patton is expected to leave the team Wednesday to attend a hearing regarding his drunken driving arrest in Texas over the winter. The 25-year-old southpaw has a 4.15 ERA and 11/2 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings with the O's this season.
