Tuesday marks the first time Wilson hasn't made it through at least five innings this season. Wilson still has 35 strikeouts in just 31.1 innings in June, but he has given up six home runs and is struggling to keep the ball on the ground -- he induced just three ground balls in Tuesday's loss.

Wilson (5-5) shut down the Diamondbacks on Thursday, striking out nine while giving up just one run on eight hits in eight innings.

He didn't walk a batter for the second time in three starts, and that's no mean feat for a guy like Wilson, who's been dogged by control issues throughout his career. And holding the D-Backs -- the National League's most productive offense -- to one run in their hitter-friendly home ballpark is a darn fine accomplishment too. The veteran lefty is in the midst of by far the finest of his four seasons as an Angel, and he's responded to a pair of blowups by posting two consecutive dominant outings. He'll look to make it three when he faces the Astros on Tuesday.

Wilson spun a gem against the A's on Saturday, tossing seven scoreless innings while striking out eight and walking three en route to his fourth victory of the season.

Wilson got back on track in a big way Saturday, with only a high pitch count (106) preventing him from progressing further in the contest. Wilson has been inconsistent on the mound this season, but has struck out 28 batters in his last 26 innings, which could make him an intriguing play going forward.

Wilson (3-3) allowed his only run in the third, hitting two-time AL MVP Miguel Cabrera on the right foot with the bases loaded after giving up a leadoff single to James McCann and two two-out walks. The Angels supported Wilson with 12 runs, enough to earn him the win. His next outing will be against Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Wilson gave up four runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out six and walking three in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Saturday night.

Mike Napoli did most of the damage against him, as the Red Sox first baseman hit both of the home runs that Wilson surrendered. After a two-start week featuring a pair of tough road matchups, Wilson will face another difficult test against the Tigers at home Thursday in his next scheduled start.

His lone mistake was leaving a fastball up and in to Kyle Seager, who pulled it into the right field stands for a two-run home run. Wilson will make his next start Tuesday at home against Colorado.

While Wilson did not factor in the decision, he lowered his season ERA to 2.73 through five starts. Thus far, Wilson has had a few favorable matchups against teams that have generally struggled against left-handed pitching. He'll face the Mariners at home Wednesday in his next scheduled start.

Wilosn likely deserved better than his no-decision Friday, as he didn't allow an extra-base hit through his seven innings. The 34-year-old had fluid drained from his elbow before the outing, but doesn't anticipate problems going forward, telling Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com "it's manageable." While his optimism is encouraging, owners may want to monitor him a bit more closely going forward, starting with his outing against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Wilson had his start pushed back because of elbow soreness, and struggled with his command Saturday, needing 103 pitches to record 13 outs. The 34-year-old will reportedly take steps to protect his elbow going forward, telling Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register that he will throw less in between starts for the foreseeable future. There were questions regarding Wilson's command coming into the season, and the fact that he is now dealing with an injury could drum up more concern in the minds of prospective owners. Wilson will face the Giants on Friday.

The Angels decided to give Wilson, who was originally slated to start Thursday, a couple extra days to rest his stiff elbow. Wilson gave up six runs in 5.2 innings against Kansas City in his second start of the year, but is sitting with a 0.98 WHIP and .187 BAA through 20.1 innings this season. Opposing lefties have combined to go just 1-for-18 against him.

Considering the nature of the injury, it would be wise of owners to confirm Wilson's status Saturday before deploying him against Texas.

Wilson will have his regularly-scheduled start skipped Thursday due to illness, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.

Wilson is apparently feeling a bit under the weather, but as long as no further complications arise, he should be able to make up the start at some point this weekend. Otherwise, he next start on paper would land next Wednesday in a road matchup against Oakland. Right-hander Nick Tropeano is scheduled to take the hill against the Athletics in his stead.

The good news is that the 34-year-old once again walked just one batter in the contest, giving him just two in 13.2 frames this season. He will look to rebound in his next outing against the Astros on Saturday.

Wilson, who walked one and struck out two in the contest, looked like a new man on the mound Tuesday, as he was able to get through eight frames with just 96 pitches, throwing 63 of them for strikes. Wilson was hurt by the free pass last season, allowing 85 walks in 175.2 innings, but if the 33-year-old is focusing on pounding the zone and being more efficient, he could be worth monitoring going forward.
