Perhaps because the team wanted a right-handed bat, Carson got the call instead of Matt Watson. Though Carson's numbers in Triple-A look okay (.303/.377/.553), he is 28 years old and repeating the level for the fourth time. The outfielder has slowly been developing power as he's aged, though, so the playing time battle in the Oakland corners bears watching. Power-starved prospect hunters may have to wait another week to see what Chris Carter can do. | ||||||
