19 Action News Investigative Reporter Scott Taylor reports that Chris Perez will be charged with misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Previous reports stated that Perez was never arrested, but photos of his and his wife's mugshots have surfaced. Mon May 27 201309:30Indians put Chris Perez (shoulder) on the DL
Indians placed RHP Chris Perez on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury.
Perez left a save opportunity Sunday against the Red Sox after experiencing discomfort in his right shoulder. The Indians aren't sure yet about the severity of the injury. Joe Smith entered Sunday's game and gave up a walkoff double to Jacoby Ellsbury, but he's still probably next in line for saves in Cleveland. Cody Allen and Vinnie Pestano are some other candidates there.

Sun May 26 201316:59Chris Perez leaves game with apparent injury
Chris Perez left Sunday's game against the Red Sox with an apparent arm injury.
Perez allowed three walks, a double and a single before exiting with a trainer. If it's something that requires a trip to the disabled list, the Indians would probably be forced to try Joe Smith in the ninth-inning role. Vinnie Pestano has been next in line behind Perez in the past, but he's having velocity issues.

Sat May 18 201316:30Chris Perez blows second save of season
Chris Perez blew his second save of the season Saturday against the Mariners.
Perez entered the top of the ninth with a 4-2 lead, but he coughed it up after giving up back-to-back solo homers to Raul Ibanez and Justin Smoak with two outs. The Indians eventually won the game on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth, so Perez actually ended up with the victory. See, it wasn't all bad for Perez owners. The 27-year-old right-hander recently dealt with some shoulder soreness and has shown diminished velocity on his fastball this season, but he owns a 1.80 ERA and 16/5 K/BB ratio over 15 innings. Vinnie Pestano just returned from an elbow injury, so there's no immediate threat to his job.
