Collins is back in the lineup for the Tigers' game against the Jays on Saturday. He will bat sixth.

He's just 3-for-25 in his last six games and none of those hits have gone for extra bases. His slash line of .257/.282/.389 is less than inspiring, either on the field or in your lineup.

Look for him to settle into a timeshare in left field with Rajai Davis, where Collins will probably see the larger portion of duties as the left-handed bat.

Collins will likely be recalled Saturday, as he's not expected to make it to Baltimore in time for Friday's contest. While he'll likely receive a fair amount of starts in left field moving forward, it's unlikely he'll make enough of an impact to be fantasy-relevant in most leagues.

The long ball was Collins' first of the season and the second of his career, as he knocked one in an 18-game stint with Detroit in 2014. Nearly 25 years old (his birthday is Saturday), Collins' unimpressive hit tool leaves him with little upside, but he does have a little pop and a little speed, and he's currently seeing semi-regular time in the Tigers' injury-depleted outfield, so there's some AL-only relevance to be found here.

Collins is not in the lineup Thursday against the Astros.

Collins has made back-to-back starts since Victor Martinez (knee) landed on the disabled list, collecting a single in each game. The left-hander take a seat in favor of J.D. Martinez, who's move to the DH spot will allow both Anthony Gose and Rajai Davis to get starts.

Collins made his 2015 debut Tuesday against the Brewers and went 1-for-3 with one walk and two strikeouts.

Temper your expectations -- his power has pretty much dried up this season. His fantasy value will be limited to the deepest of formats.

The Tigers simply don't have playing time available for Collins to begin the season, but should an injury knock out of the team's four Opening Day options in the outfield, Collins may be the first callup from Toledo.

While Collins is the favorite to open the season as the team's fifth outfielder, the Tigers may elect to keep an extra infielder instead, the Detroit News reports.

The left-handed hitting Collins offers a much-needed alternative to a righty-heavy lineup, plus he's capable of handling all three outfield spots. Even if he sticks on the Opening Day roster, it's difficult to envision a scenario where Collins plays frequently barring injuries to one of the team's starting outfielders.

The Tigers seem to prefer that Steven Moya get everyday playing time in the minors, as opposed to giving him a limited role with the big club to begin the season. Collins has appeared in nine minor league games as a center fielder over four seasons, making it likely that he'll get his opportunities while occasionally spelling Yoenis Cespedes and J.D. Martinez in the corners in 2015.

Collins will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo prior to Monday's game against the Indians, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.

The 24-year-old appeared in seven games earlier this season with the Tigers, and was batting .263 with 18 homers and 12 stolen bases over 120 contests at Toledo entering play Sunday. He'll just be a left-handed bat off the bench and potential pinch-running option for the Tigers in September.
