OF Odubel Herrera (leg tightness) is banged up a little bit but is not injured, manager Pete Mackanin said Saturday. "He is not complaining," said Mackanin. "He is healthy."

OF Odubel Herrera went 1-for-3 in a 14-4 loss Tuesday night, making it 18 consecutive games he's reached base safely, dating to Sept. 22, 2016. It's the third-longest streak of his career.

CF Odubel Herrera extended his hitting streak to eight games dating back to the final game 2016. OF Odubel Herrera was originally given the day off Wednesday after a torrid seven-game hitting streak that saw him bat .536 (15-for-28) with four doubles, two home runs and six RBIs, slugging .893 with a 1.445 OPS. He eventually entered as a pinch runner in the sixth inning and stayed in to go 0-for-1 with a run.

OF Odubel Herrera continued a scorching week with a big night against the White Sox on Tuesday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Over his last seven games, Herrera is hitting .536 (15-for-28) with four doubles, two home runs and six RBI, slugging .893 with a 1.445 OPS. He's the first Phillies outfielder with 15 home runs and 20 steals in a season since Shane Victorino (18/34) in 2010.

He's got a lot of things to figure out, but perhaps the All-Star Game changed him a little bit, made him a little comfortable. It's hard to say."

Moreover, manager Pete Mackanin said Herrera has slipped defensively since 2015, his rookie year. "He's made a lot of mistakes this year," the manager said. It's got to be mental. It looked to me like he kind of relaxed after making the All-Star team and said, 'OK, now I'm here and I'm good.' Had a few bad games, and now he's trying too hard to say, 'OK, now I'll start getting my hits again.' To me, he's trying to hit both sides of the plate. ... He's trying to guess away and guess in, and he gets caught in between."

CF Odubel Herrera continued his torrid hitting against the Padres with his first-inning homer Sunday. Herrera finished 3-for-5 Sunday with his 12th homer of the season and a stolen base. He has a career .370 batting average in 17 games against the Padres (17-for-46) with two home runs and seven RBIs.

CF Odubel Herrera is having a series. He was 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored Saturday, making him 6-for-9 for the first two of the three weekend games. The two three-hit games give him nine on the season and help erase a 4-for-41 performance over his previous 11 games. "It was getting pretty ugly for about a week there, so it feels good to get some hits," Herrera said through an interpreter. "That's my job, to get hits, be successful and help the team win. He struck out in the first inning but then singled in the third and sixth. He also made a leaping catch at the wall of a Jung Ho Kang fly ball to end the Pirates' fifth. In the seventh, he doubled off reliever Arquimedes Caminero and scored.

OF Odubel Herrera, who entered Wednesday's game against Miami as a defensive replacement and flew out in his only at-bat, is mired in a 5-for-38 slump. "It kind of started right when he was named to the All-Star team," manager Pete Mackanin said. "Maybe that was a goal, and maybe he started just relaxing a little bit, and you can't do that in the game. You've got to keep battling every day."

CF Odubel Herrera, the Phillies' lone All-Star, remained the one constant for an offense that lacked any consistency. He leads the team with a .378 on-base percentage and 96 hits. He also is batting .294 with 12 stolen bases. Among qualified NL outfielders, Herrera ranks fourth in on-base percentage, and tied for fourth in hits (97). This is just his second year in the majors since he was selected in a Rule 5 draft pick from the Texas Rangers' organization.

CF Odubel Herrera was not in the lineup but pinch hit in the ninth and flied out to deep center. He fouled a ball off his right foot in the ninth inning Friday, fell to the ground and stayed there face-down and in pain for about 15 seconds before he was able to get up.
