LHP Antonny Banda was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Saturday. Banda, who was 1-3 with a 7.32 ERA in four spot starts while filling in for LHP Robbie Ray (concussion) in August, is considered the organization's most advanced pitching prospect. Banda was 8-7 with a 5.39 ERA in 22 starts for Reno. He was the Diamondbacks' minor league pitcher of the year on 2016.

LHP Anthony Banda was optioned to Triple-A Reno. Banda, 1-3 with a 7.32 ERA over four starts, earned his first career victory in his second start against the Giants on Aug. 4. In 19 starts with the Aces, he is 7-6 with a 5.13 ERA. Banda entered the season ranked as the Diamondbacks' top prospect.

Diamondbacks LHP Anthony Banda will remain in the starting rotation for now despite giving up three runs while making 35 pitches in the first inning of an 8-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night. SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt was hit in the head with a pitch leading off the sixth inning and left the game Friday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at AT&T Park.On a 2-1 count, Arizona rookie left-hander Anthony Banda hit Belt with a 79 mph curveball. Belt turned away from the high pitch and was struck in the helmet.Banda's pitch knocked Belt's helmet off, and he went to the ground and appeared to be dazed. After being examined by Giants trainer Dave Groeschner, Belt walked off the field and was replaced by pinch-runner Joe Panik.
