Mon May 1 202321:16Ronald Acuna Jr. Scheduled To Go For MRI On Shoulder
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. will go for an MRI on his left shoulder after getting hit by a pitch during his team's Monday doubleheader against the New York Mets. Acuna already went for initial X-rays, which came back negative, but he will also undergo a precautionary MRI to make sure he is alright. Acuna could be back in the lineup as soon as Tuesday if the MRI comes back clean, although it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit out for a game or two. Stay tuned.

Mon May 1 202318:19Ronald Acuna Jr. Leaves Early With Shoulder Injury Monday
Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (shoulder) left Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the New York Mets with what is being labeled a left-shoulder contusion. Acuna suffered the injury while being hit in the shoulder with a pitch from Mets right-hander Tylor Megill in the top of the first inning, and he appeared to be in significant discomfort on the ground surrounded by trainers. Of course, any time missed by Acuna would be a serious blow for the Braves, as he's once again enjoying a big season with a .352 batting average, four home runs, and an MLB-leading 13 stolen bases across 27 games. His 1.6 fWAR is tied with the Mets' Brandon Nimmo for third in all of baseball as both player and team hold their breath while he undergoes tests to assess the damage.

Mon May 1 202317:07Ronald Acuna Jr. Leaves Game 2 Early After Being Hit By Pitch
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (shoulder) departed Game 2 of a doubleheader early against the New York Mets after getting drilled in the left shoulder by a pitch in his first at-bat. Acuna crumpled to the ground and was evaluated by the team's trainers. Kevin Pillar replaced Acuna as a pinch-hitter and will likely remain in the game in right field. It remains to be seen how serious the 25-year-old's injury is, but fantasy managers should at least expect him to miss Tuesday's game. He went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and two runs scored in the 9-8 win in Game 1, so at least he produced for fantasy managers on Monday before leaving Game 2. Check back for more updates on Acuna's shoulder after the second game of the twin bill concludes.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI, and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He hit a two-run single in the second inning and later knocked in another run with an RBI single in the seventh frame to tie the game. Acuna is displaying why he was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy drafts this year.

Thu Feb 9 202313:14Ronald Acuna Jr. Will Play In World Baseball Classic
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. will play in the 2023 World Baseball Classic for Team Venezuela. Acuna got permission from the Braves to take part in the tournament, which will take him away from the team's spring training. There's a good chance that the 25-year-old will be limited to designated-hitter duties in an effort to keep him healthy for the 2023 regular season. Acuna tore his ACL in 2021 and spent a lot of time last season serving as the DH, but he wants to return to a regular role in right field for the Braves this year. Despite the major knee injury, Acuna is one of the best all-around players in the big leagues and is worth a heavy investment from fantasy managers on draft day.

Tue Nov 15 202213:10Braves Not Considering Trading Ronald Acuna Jr.
The Atlanta Braves are not considering trading right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. or any other young player they have signed to an extension. The Braves don't award no-trade clauses to players as part of their policy, but a player that signs an extension does it with implicit understanding that he won't be traded. Atlanta is also unlikely to sign a free-agent shortstop other than Dansby Swanson. President of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos mentioned Orlando Arcia and Vaughn Grissom as internal options if the team can't re-sign Swanson. Acuna, still only 24, made his third All-Star team in 2022 despite dealing with nagging injuries throughout the season. He finished with a .266/.351/.413 slash line, 15 home runs, 50 RBI, 71 runs scored and 29 stolen bases in 119 games.

Wed Oct 12 202223:11No Structural Damage For Ronald Acuna Jr.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (elbow) doesn't have any structural damage to his right elbow after he was hit by a pitch in the Game 2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series on Wednesday. Acuna was in some pain but managed to stay in the game and went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a strikeout in the 3-0 shutout victory. With a day off on Thursday to rest up, Acuna should be back in right field and in the leadoff spot for Game 3 of the series on Friday against Philadelphia. The 24-year-old superstar outfielder is now 4-for-7 with a double, two walks and two runs scored in the first two games of the series, which is knotted at 1-1 heading to Philadelphia for the weekend.

Wed Oct 5 202215:16Ronald Acuna Jr. Getting The Day Off Wednesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is getting the day off on Wednesday against the Miami Marlins in the regular season finale after the Braves clinched the National League East title on Tuesday night. After winning the division, the Braves will get a first-round bye and won't play again until next week for the start of the NL Division Series. Acuna dealt with various injuries in 2022 and played in 119 games, but he still managed to pick up his third All-Star nod and finishes the regular season with a .266/.351/.413 slash line to go with 15 home runs, 50 RBI, 71 runs and 29 stolen bases in 467 at-bats. Robbie Grossman will start in right field on Wednesday and hit seventh against Marlins right-hander Elieser Hernandez.

Wed Sep 28 202200:40Ronald Acuna Jr. Hits Two Homers
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. led the way offensively Tuesday in an 8-2 win over the Washington Nationals, going 2-for-5 with two solo home runs. He now has 15 for the year. It's been a down year for the right fielder, who has a .781 OPS in 113 games this season, a number which sits well below his career .892 mark. Still, Acuna Jr. has racked up 69 runs scored, 49 RBI, and 28 steals in 507 plate appearances. Those numbers will play, even if they don't live up to the first-round price tag for fantasy managers.

Mon Sep 26 202218:05Ronald Acuna Jr. Returns To Starting Lineup Monday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (back) is back in right field and is hitting leadoff on Monday against the Washington Nationals and right-hander Cory Abbott. Acuna hadn't started the team's previous four games due to mid-back tightness, but he had two at-bats as a pinch-hitter on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies and is now back in there for fantasy managers to begin the week. Get the 24-year-old All-Star back into all starting lineups in season-long leagues. In 19 games so far in September, he's gone 20-for-76 (.263) with two home runs, 11 RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases. The fact that he's back in right field means that his back issues are hopefully a thing of the past.

Mon Sep 26 202211:28Ronald Acuna Jr. Appears As Pinch-Hitter Sunday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (back) went 1-for-1 with an RBI, run scored and a walk in two plate appearances as a pinch-hitter off the bench in Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The 24-year-old has been dealing with mid-back tightness and hasn't started a game for the Braves since Sept. 21, but the fact that he entered the game on Sunday and got two at-bats is a good sign that he might be able to return on Monday for the start of a series against the Washington Nationals. He's been in and out of the lineup at times this year due to various injuries. Acuna is hitting .263 (20-for-76) with two home runs, 11 RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases in 19 games in September.

Fri Sep 23 202216:01Ronald Acuna Jr. Out On Friday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (back) is not in the team's starting lineup on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Acuna missed the game on Thursday with mid-back tightness and will now miss his second straight game. It remains to be seen if he'll be available at all this weekend against Philadelphia, but fantasy managers will be hoping that the All-Star outfielder will be able to return soon. Robbie Grossman is back in right field and is hitting ninth on Friday against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. The 33-year-old veteran slugger won't have much DFS upside in the nine-hole, and he's hitting just .210/.312/.313 on the season with seven home runs, 44 RBI, 39 runs scored and six stolen bases in 390 at-bats.

Thu Sep 22 202223:56Ronald Acuna Jr. Iffy To Start Friday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (back) was scratched ahead of Thursday's contest versus the Phillies and the club is "unsure" about his availability for Friday's matchup. The 24-year-old felt some mid-back tightness following batting practice, and manager Brian Snitker stated that something "banged on him" after hitting in the cage afterwards. It's a situation to monitor for fantasy managers heading into the weekend, so be sure to check back for an update prior to tomorrow's game.

Thu Sep 22 202219:34Ronald Acuna Jr. Scratched With Back Tightness Thursday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (back) was scratched from the starting lineup on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies with mid-back tightness. Until we know more about Acuna's condition, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. Robbie Grossman is moving to right field and will bat ninth, while Marcell Ozuna is now starting in left field and hitting eighth against Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Hopefully, Ozuna's injury isn't serious enough to keep him out for the remainder of the 2022 regular season as the Braves try to take the National League East division from the New York Mets. Stay tuned for more information on Acuna's injury later on Thursday night or early Friday.

Wed Sep 21 202220:10Ronald Acuna Jr. Collects Two Hits Wednesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. recorded two hits in five at-bats on Wednesday when his team lost to the Washington Nationals 3-2. He singled twice, scored once, and had an RBI. After missing almost the first month of the year, Acuna Jr. has been a bit disappointing over 110 games, posting a .270/.356/.416 slash line with 13 HRs, 66 runs, 46 RBI, and 28 stolen bases. Those marks are still good for fantasy managers, but the home run shortage isn't something they were expecting after smashing 24 in 84 games season a year ago. Nonetheless, Acuna Jr.'s a superstar that needs to start every day.

Wed Aug 31 202216:14Ronald Acuna Jr. Returns To The Starting Lineup
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Ryan Feltner, serving as the designated hitter and batting in his customary leadoff spot. Acuna will return to action after missing the last three games with right knee pain. Fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups in all formats. The 24-year-old superstar will look to stretch his modest hitting streak to six games. Acuna is hitting a strong .319 (29-for-91) with two home runs, 12 RBI, 17 runs scored and three stolen bases in 24 games in the month of August.

Tue Aug 30 202215:01Ronald Acuna Jr. Isn't Starting Tuesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) isn't in the team's lineup on Tuesday for a matchup with the Colorado Rockies and right-handed starter Jose Urena. The 24-year-old is hitting .274 with a .367 on-base percentage, 10 home runs, and 25 stolen bases in 411 plate appearances this season. Instead, Robbie Grossman will start in right field and bat ninth against the Rockies. The veteran is hitting .226 with a .304 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a stolen base in 69 plate appearances since joining Atlanta via a trade with the Detroit Tigers. He could be worth a look as a streaming option on Tuesday for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Sun Aug 28 202216:38Ronald Acuna Jr. Remains Out Of The Lineup
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The organization had Acuna sit out Saturday as well, so clearly they want him to get some extra rest. It doesn't sound like the 24-year-old is dealing with an injury. Robbie Grossman will cover right field and bat ninth against right-hander Adam Wainwright on Sunday. The expectation is that Acuna will be back in the lineup for Tuesday's contest, but fantasy managers will have to check back on Tuesday.

Sat Aug 27 202218:34Ronald Acuna Jr. Not In Lineup Saturday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is out of the lineup tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals. Manager Brian Snitker said that it is just a day of rest for Acuna, so hopefully he can get back in there tomorrow. Although his numbers are solid, Acuna has been a bit of a disappointment for fantasy managers this season. He has just 57 runs, 35 RBI, and 10 homers over 354 at-bats this season. The 25 steals are certainly a nice addition, but more power numbers were expected from the Braves' superstar. He has been dealing with multiple injuries, which could be part of the reason for the power dip. Still, he's certainly worthy of starting in all formats. Guillermo Heredia, Robbie Grossman, and Michael Harris II will cover the outfield in Acuna's absence.
