Mon Sep 13 202107:22Francisco Lindor Has Signature Game With Mets
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI in the Mets 7-6 win over the New York Yankees on Sunday evening. It was the breakout performance that Mets fans (and fantasy managers) had waited for all season. Lindor now has 17 home runs and 52 RBI on the season, and he has four homers over his last three games. He is heating up at the right time for fantasy managers who are still in the running for a championship. Lindor should remain active in all formats through the remainder of the 2021 campaign, exemplified by his breakout on Sunday.

Sat Sep 11 202109:37Francisco Lindor Belts 14th Homer On Friday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks, and two runs scored in the Mets 10-3 win over the Yankees on Friday night. Lindor has had a disappointing 2021 campaign overall. After starting to heat up at the plate, he has again cooled off. Hopefully, Friday's performance can get him back on track for the last few weeks of the 2021 campaign. Lindor is hitting .224/.318/.384 with 14 home runs, 14 doubles, 47 RBI, 61 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases in 2021. These numbers are a far cry from the numbers he posted in his All-Star campaigns with the Cleveland Indians. Notwithstanding, Lindor should remain active in all formats through the remainder of the 2021 campaign. Given his bust season, it will be interesting to see where Lindor's ADP is when 2022 fantasy redraft leagues begin to draft next spring.

Tue Sep 7 202110:02Francisco Lindor With Two More Hits On Monday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in the Mets 4-3 loss to the Washington Nationals on Monday. Lindor has had a disappointing 2021 campaign but is heating up at the plate. Over his last seven games, Lindor is hitting .304/.346/.652 with two home runs, six RBI, and seven runs scored in 23 at-bats. Overall, Lindor is hitting a disappointing 227/.317/.385 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI in 2021. While these numbers are a far cry from his All-Star campaigns with the Cleveland Indians, he should remain active in all formats given his potential to accumulate stats in all fantasy scoring categories, particularly while he remains hot.

Sun Aug 29 202111:07Francisco Lindor Swipes Two Bags On Saturday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in the Mets 5-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday. The steals were Lindor's ninth and tenth of the season and first since he returned from a stay on the injured list due to an oblique injury. Lindor has struggled all season, and especially since he returned from the IL on August 24. In the five games since he returned, Lindor is batting just .158/.158/.263 with one extra-base hit (a triple) and the two steals. Despite his struggles, Lindor should remain active in all formats, given his potential to accumulate stats in all fantasy scoring categories, including steals, as he showcased on Saturday. Hopefully, Lindor can finish up the 2021 campaign strong and give Mets fans and fantasy managers in dynasty formats alike a sense of hope for next season.

Wed Aug 25 202118:08Francisco Lindor Not In Lineup Wednesday
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor isn't in the lineup on Wednesday for a matchup with the San Francisco Giants and right-hander Johnny Cueto. Lindor is batting .225 with a .322 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and eight stolen bases in 368 plate appearances this season. The Mets will shift Javier Baez to shortstop with Jeff McNeil starting at second base. Baez is batting fifth while McNeil is hitting third. Fantasy managers with Baez on their roster should start the middle infielder against Cueto. However, if you're looking for a streaming option at second base, you're probably better off looking elsewhere as McNeil is hitting .247 with a .322 on-base percentage this season. The veteran has also added six home runs and two stolen bases in 323 plate appearances.

Wed Aug 25 202109:38Francisco Lindor Hitless In Return To Lineup
On Tuesday, New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) went 0-for-4 against the San Francisco Giants in his return to the Mets lineup after being activated from the 10-day injured list. Lindor had been sidelined since July 16 due to a Grade 2 oblique strain. It has been a disappointing season for Lindor, his first with the Mets. He is hitting just .225/.322/.371 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 88 games. Just before he was injured, Lindor was beginning to heat up at the plate so, hopefully, he can get his stroke back for a stretch run in September. With a surrounding lineup that now includes Javier Baez, Lindor has plenty of protection which should, theoretically, enable him to get pitches to drive. Fantasy managers should have Lindor active in all formats.

Thu Aug 19 202120:32Francisco Lindor May Return During Upcoming Homestand
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) could return on Tuesday. Skipper Luis Rojas indicated that while a rehab assignment is still a possibility, Lindor could be back as early as the team's upcoming homestand against the San Francisco Giants. Since mid-July, the 27-year-old has been out because of a Grade 2 oblique strain, so managers in all formats have certainly waited long enough for his return. However, his play wasn't the best before going down with the ailment, although there is a chance he could get it together this time around.

Sat Jul 31 202102:55Joey Votto homers for 7th straight game, 1 shy of MLB record
NEW YORK (AP) — Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game, one shy of a major league record, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night. Jonathan India went deep twice for the Reds, including a leadoff shot that came on Carlos Carrasco’s first pitch with the Mets. Acquired from Cleveland in January, the veteran right-hander finally made his New York debut after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was an up-and-down day for the Mets, who made a big deal to get Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs before baseball’s trade deadline — and then revealed injured ace Jacob deGrom will be shut down for two more weeks because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, making it unlikely he’ll rejoin the NL East leaders before September. Báez was acquired from the Cubs along with right-hander Trevor Williams for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft. Báez is expected to join the Mets on Saturday and will play shortstop... [More]

Sat Jul 31 202101:55Mets get Bez, Williams from Cubs for outfield prospect
NEW YORK (AP) — Javier Báez got his wish: He's headed to New York to play with Francisco Lindor. But first, the Mets are counting on their big-name newcomer to replace his good buddy at shortstop for a while. With the trade deadline fast approaching Friday, the NL East leaders acquired Báez and pitcher Trevor Williams from the Chicago Cubs for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong. Báez, a two-time All-Star and 2020 Gold Glove winner, gives New York an immediate fill-in for Lindor. The star shortstop, obtained from Cleveland in a blockbuster deal last winter, is sidelined with a strained oblique and not expected back until at least mid-to-late August. “I’m super excited. I couldn’t be happier," Lindor said. "I can’t wait for him to come out here and put on a show for everybody.” The flashy Báez, who can become a free agent after the season, is batting .248 with 22 home runs and 65 RBIs. He has a .775 OPS and 13 stolen bases in 16 tries, but also leads the National League with 131 strikeouts.... [More]
