Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was removed from Sunday's game with left middle finger discomfort. Make sure to check back to see if the Blue Jays do any testing and if the discomfort becomes an issue.

Sun Aug 6 202312:32Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Retreats To The Bench
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will receive a breather on Sunday as the team battles the Boston Red Sox. It looks to be just a normal day of rest for Guerrero in the series finale, as he's started every game for the team since May 19. Brandon Belt will get the nod at first base in this one and will bat in the two-hole against Red Sox left-hander Brennan Bernardino. Vlad Jr., and All-Star in each of the last three years, has been in a bit of a run since July 28, going only 5-for-32 (.156) with a homer, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in 39 trips to the plate. He's been a bit disappointing overall in 2023, too, slashing .263/.340/.443 with 18 homers, 22 doubles, 69 RBI, four steals and 54 runs scored, but he remains an everyday player for fantasy purposes in a strong Toronto lineup.

Sat Aug 5 202300:58Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Pops 18th Homer In Win
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and a double in Friday's 7-3 triumph over the Boston Red Sox. The 24-year-old took James Paxton yard for a first-inning solo bomb before doubling in George Springer during the sixth frame to extend Toronto's advantage. While Guerrero has been something a fantasy disappointment as a consensus first-round pick in spring drafts, he remains a very strong source of power numbers. The three-time All-Star is slashing .266/.343/.448 with 18 long balls, 69 RBI, and four stolen bases over 417 at-bats this year. Guerrero's expected figures on Statcast suggest he's perhaps been one of baseball's unluckiest hitters, keeping the star slugger in fantasy buy-low conversations.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in a 4-0 win over the San Diego Padres on Thursday. Guerrero Jr. tacked on an important insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Thursday when he took Padres reliever Luis Garcia to the opposite field for his 15th home run of the season. The solo shot gave the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead at that point and catcher Alejandro Kirk would later extend that margin to 4-0 with a two-run blast of his own in the bottom of the eighth. Guerrero Jr. is batting just .208 over the last seven contests but he's gone deep twice over that span and does have six home runs over the last 30 games. Mon Jul 10 202323:18Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Wins 2023 Home Run Derby
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. bested Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena in the 2023 Home Run Derby in Seattle on Monday night. By winning this year's Derby, Guerrero joined his Hall of Fame dad as the only father-son duo to both win a Derby title. The younger Guerrero beat Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts in the first round and Mariners star Julio Rodriguez in the semifinals to reach the finals against Arozarena. In the last round, Guerrero hit 25 home runs to beat Arozarena by two. The key for Guerrero was getting an extra 30 seconds of bonus time in the final round for hitting two long balls over 440 feet.
