ATLANTA (AP) — Braves right-hander Anibal Sanchez was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday after straining his right hamstring while running in the outfield before Atlanta's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.After receiving attention from Braves trainers for several minutes, Sanchez was driven off the field on a cart.The 34-year-old Sanchez was running in the outfield with other Braves pitchers before batting practice. Sanchez was scheduled to start Thursday in the opener of a series against the New York Mets.The Braves did not immediately update their rotation plans. Third baseman Johan Camargo was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move. Biddle recently sought a second opinion on his elbow injury from Dr. James Andrews, who confirmed an early diagnosis of ligament damage to the elbow that would require the procedure. The injury will knock Biddle out for all of the 2016 season, and should result in him sliding further down the organizational prospect list. The 23-year-old was once considered one of the top arms in the system, but his ineffectiveness and health issues since the beginning of 2014 no longer make reaching the majors a foregone conclusion. Look for the Phillies to remove Biddle from their 40-man roster this week.

Biddle is seeking a second opinion on his sore elbow after being examined by Phillies' team doctor Michael Ciccotti, CSN Philadelphia reports.

Interim GM Scott Proefrock would not say what the results were of the exam with Ciccotti. He only would say "there's some concern" about Biddle's elbow. Biddle was placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Lehigh Valley at the end of August with what was called a left shoulder strain at the time.

GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Biddle is probably not going to be a September call-up, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "He hasn't performed well enough to be under consideration yet," Amaro said. "But we'll see. There is still time to make those decisions."

Biddle is 2-3 with a 5.85 ERA and a 30:25 K:BB ratio in 40 innings since his promotion to Triple-A. He's not showing enough progress with his command for the Phillies to give him a shot in the majors next month.

Biddle allowed seven runs on five hits in 2.1 innings in his debut for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. He walked six batters in the outing and struck out just one.

Biddle was facing a lineup that featured Daniel Nava, Jackie Bradley Jr., Allen Craig and Jemile Weeks. They all have significant major league experience, making Wednesday's start a real test for the young lefty. Biddle has plenty of work to do before he can be considered an option for the Phillies. Priority number one has to be cutting down on the free passes. It is a problem that has plagued him throughout his professional career.
