Tue Dec 4 201222:35Josh Howard double-doubles with 16 & 10
Josh Howard had his best game of the season with 16 points, 10 rebounds and two 3-pointers on 7-of-12 shooting in 29 minutes of Tuesday's blowout win over the Sixers.
Andrei Kirilenko could miss the rest of the week with his back problems and Howard is starting in his place, meaning Howard is at least worth a short-term look if it happens. But the reality with Howard is that the more minutes he plays, the better the chances are that he'll break down later on.

Sat Dec 1 201203:31Howard starts at small forward on Friday
Josh Howard started at small forward for injured Andrei Kirilenko (back) on Friday, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 24 minutes.
Howard will be worth a look when he's given spot action like this, but only in massive formats. Otherwise, there's not enough meat to this bone to pay him too much attention.

Fri Nov 30 201209:31Josh Howard: 'This is my training camp'
Josh Howard admitted that he's working his way into basketball shape.
"This is my training camp," he said. "I'm going through my second week just like everybody else was going through their second week. Only everybody else got a full month." With Chase Budinger (knee surgery), Brandon Roy (knee surgery) and Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) all sidelined, Howard played 26 minutes in his last game.

Thu Nov 29 201202:24Josh Howard quiet in start for Kirilenko
Josh Howard started for Andrei Kirilenko (back) on Wednesday and had seven points, three rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer on 3-of-9 shooting.
Howard is getting some run and playing fairly well, but still hasn't shown enough to be considered in most fantasy leagues.

Sat Nov 24 201202:21Josh Howard plays well in Friday's loss
Josh Howard had 10 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting in 22 minutes of Friday's loss to Portland.
He's coming off the bench, but could replace Malcolm Lee at starting shooting guard any day now. Howard's emergence is also hurting the productivity of Alexey Shved, who played just 16 minutes tonight. Keep a close eye on Howard going forward, but we suspect he'll be injured again before too long.

Sat Nov 17 201202:05Howard scores six points in debut
Josh Howard scored six points in his Wolves debut on Friday, hitting 3-of-10 shots (no threes) with two rebounds and two steals in 14 minutes.
Howard certainly wasn't shy tonight, but even if he ever gets on a roll he'll be a guy owners shouldn't trust. There's a reason why he's on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum.

Fri Nov 16 201211:48Josh Howard passes physical, officially signs
Josh Howard passed his physical and is expected to dress Friday night against the Warriors.
Howard won't make any sort of drastic impact right off the bat and will likely average in the 5 to 6 minute range to start. Those minutes could grow if Howard stays healthy and Brandon Roy's knee remains a problem.

Thu Nov 15 201210:36Report: Josh Howard signs with Minnesota
According to Chris Broussard, Josh Howard signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves for one year at the veteran minimum.
The Timberwolves have been ravaged by injuries and needed to add a body to the roster. Howard had worked out with the team Monday and should step into the swingman role played by Chase Budinger before he went down.

Mon Nov 5 201209:15Warriors considering Howard, Evans, Pietrus
After losing Brandon Rush (torn ACL) for the season, some free-agent names that are "arising" for the Warriors are Josh Howard, Mickael Pietrus, Mo Evans and Kenyon Martin.
The first three players make some sense with Rush out fo the year, but K-Mart isn't a small forward and the Warriors already have both David Lee and Carl Landry at that spot. Howard, Pietrus and Evans should all come at the veteran's minimum salary if Golden State decides to pursue any one of them.

Josh Howard is still hoping to sign a contract this season.
"I'm just waiting for the opportunity to get on a team," he said. With his chronic knee woes and declining talent, Howard is going to have to wait for an injury in the right spot to see his market heat up.

The Knicks remain interested in signing Josh Howard, a source tells ESPN New York.
It's hard to see how Howard would fit onto New York's veteran roster, but the Knicks have reportedly had "recent conversations with his representatives." With constant knee issues and a declining game, Howard isn't a fantasy asset regardless of where he lands.

Wed Sep 26 201219:07Knicks have interest in signing Josh Howard?
The Knicks remain interested in signing Josh Howard, according to Ian Begley of ESPNNY.com.
Howard reportedly visited with San Antonio and Philadelphia recently, so it looks like he should be very close to signing. Even though the Jazz used him more than expected with his 23.0 minutes per game last year, he doesn't project to have much fantasy value this season.

Tue Sep 18 201209:41Jazz interested in re-signing Josh Howard
There is "mutual interest" between unrestricted FA Josh Howard and the Jazz.
The Jazz want to re-sign the veteran after he "exceeded expectations" last season, but it would be a curious move to bring him back given the youth on the wing in Utah. However, the chances of him returning have "only become slimmer" and it's conceivable that his days with the team are over.

Mon Sep 17 201208:27Josh Howard could still re-sign with Jazz
Josh Howard "still has interest" in re-signing with the Jazz.
Howard will visit the Spurs on Monday, and he'll likely make a decision about what bench he'll join before training camp kicks off. He offers no sustainable fantasy value at this stage of his career.

Sun Sep 16 201216:00Josh Howard to meet w/ Spurs on Monday
Free agent Josh Howard is expected to visit the Spurs on Monday, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Wed Aug 29 201219:02Josh Howard works out with Charlotte
Free agent G/F and North Carolina native Josh Howard has been working out with Charlotte this week, with the Bulls and Knicks also potentially interested in his services.
Howard actually started a handful of games with the Jazz last season, but has always had had problems staying healthy. If he can stay healthy -- which is a big if -- Howard could offer a pretty versatile swingman game to the right situation. For what it's worth, Howard has said he's 100 percent recovered from knee surgery he had during last season.
