"I trusted my gut, trusted my instincts," Durant said. "The Fourth of July, I was just torn. I woke up about 7 o'clock (July 5) and said, 'I want to go to the Warriors.' That call to Oklahoma City was the hardest thing I had to do in my life. Tears were shed. ... Jefferson accrued nine points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and five rebounds over 21 minutes in Thursday's exhibition loss to the 76ers.
With Kevin Love (shoulder) still recovering from injury and Tristan Thompson embroiled in a contract holdout, Jefferson was included in the starting lineup for Thursday's game. However, Love is at least expected to return to the court for preseason action next week, likely resulting in Jefferson moving back to a bench role before the regular season gets underway. Even so, Jefferson should have an inside track for a rotation spot with the Cavaliers, especially if Thompson continues to remain away from the team. Jefferson's ability to play both forward spots will allow him to spell either Love or LeBron James whenever both of the stars require rest.
Tue Jul 21 201515:25Jefferson will sign veteran's minimum deal with Cavs on Tuesday
Jefferson will sign a veteran's minimum deal with the Cavs on Tuesday, Sam Amico of FOX Sports reports.
It was reported early in the free agency period that Jefferson would re-sign with the Mavericks, but that deal apparently fell through, and the veteran will head north to join the heavy favorites in the Eastern Conference. The 35-year-old averaged 5.8 points in 16.8 minutes for Dallas last season, and he'll likely play a reduced role for a Cavs team deep with talent on the wing.
Fri Jul 3 201517:36Jefferson will sign one-year
Jefferson will sign a one-year, minimum deal with the Mavericks, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
The veteran will re-up with the Mavericks on a veteran's minimum deal after appearing in 74 games last season. The 35-year-old averaged 5.8 points and 16.8 minutes, and he'll likely see a similar role this season as a swingman off the bench. Despite solid shooting percentages (44% FG, 43% 3Pt), Jefferson is not relevant in most fantasy leagues.

Jefferson sat out of Tuesday's loss to the Rockets after suffering through back spasms earlier that day, ESPN reports.
Jefferson was limited with a calf injury earlier in the series, but it was back spasms that ended up keeping him out of this game. With the Mavericks being eliminated from the playoffs, he'll now have the offseason to get back to 100 percent. Jefferson is an unrestricted free agent, so we'll have to wait and see if he decides to re-sign with the Mavericks or take his talents to another championship contending team.

Jefferson (calf) posted five points in 12 minutes of action in Game 4 against the Rockets.
Jefferson is averaging just 3.8 points during the series so far, and he's limited to a bench role for the Mavericks. He can hit the occasional three-pointer when given the opportunity, but his minutes are too limited for him to score in double-digits on a normal basis.
