Fri Apr 20 201219:05Baron Davis (flu) out; Mike Bibby in vs. Cavs
Baron Davis (flu) will not play on Friday against the Cavs, and Mike Bibby will start in his place.
It's going to be funny watching Kyrie Irving light Bibby up like a Christmas tree, though the Knicks would be wise to shift Iman Shumpert over to cover the explosive rookie. Bibby put up some low-end numbers in his last start, but he's a risky play as a spot-starter any way you slice it.

Thu Apr 19 201212:37Baron Davis expected back on Friday
Baron Davis (illness) is expected to return to the starting lineup on Friday.
Davis sat out with a stomach bug but it was also a chance for him to rest a sore hamstring. He doesn't warrant any fantasy attention with meager averages of 6.8 points and 4.2 assists per game as a starter.

Wed Apr 18 201218:11Baron out w/ illness, Bibby to start vs. Nets
Baron Davis (illness) will not play on Wednesday, giving Mike Bibby a rare start at PG.
Bibby hasn't scored double-digit points since early January, and defensively he's being served on a platter to Deron Williams.

Wed Apr 18 201200:30Baron Davis was ill, says he'll play Weds.
Baron Davis said after Tuesday's win that he was sick prior to the game, needed an IV, and aggravated his hamstring injury in the third quarter.
He finished the game with zero points and one assist in 18 minutes, but said he fully plans on playing Wednesday against the Nets. Mike Woodson might think differently because of the Deron-less opponent, but either way, Davis is still not worth using in most leagues.

Tue Apr 17 201211:13Baron Davis skips shootaround on Tuesday
Baron Davis (neck, hamstring, back) did not participate in shootaround on Tuesday.
Davis was "likely" getting treatment and should be in no danger of missing Tuesday's game against the Celtics. With averages of 7.4 points and 4.5 assists through 11 starts, there's just not much upside here.

Mon Apr 16 201209:41Woodson regrets bringing Baron back late
Coach Mike Woodson said he regretted bringing Baron Davis back into Sunday's loss for the final 4:08 of the game.
Davis had three points, four assists and five turnovers in 26 minutes against the Heat Sunday. It's a standard performance for one of the worst starting point guards in the NBA. Davis has started 11 games this season, but is averaging just 7.4 points and 4.5 assists to go with 3.2 turnovers.

Sat Apr 14 201201:14Davis scores season-high 18 points
Baron Davis scored a season-high 18 points in the Knicks' 103-65 blowout win over the Wizards on Friday, hitting 7-of-9 shots (including four threes) with one rebound, two assists, and two steals in 23 minutes.
This is likely going to be his best line for the rest of the year, as the dilapidated point guard won't get to beat up on the Wizards every night. Tyson Chandler scored eight points with 15 rebounds, and Carmelo Anthony added 18 points with five boards, a steal, and a block in the win.

Fri Apr 13 201218:50Baron Davis on 25-26 minute limit per game
Baron Davis is battling hamstring, knee and back injuries and head coach Mike Woodson has said he wants to limit him to no more than 25-26 minutes per game.
With B-Diddy on the minutes limit, Iman Shumpert and Landry Fields continue to be better fantasy plays for those needing to start Knicks guards down the stretch.

Fri Apr 13 201209:28Baron Davis could be limited by neck issue
Baron Davis (neck) said he "couldn't move" in the third quarter of the Knicks win over the Bucks on Wednesday.
"I was trying to play and do some things out there, but I just couldn't move and it was really bothering me," Davis said. We've been saying that Iman Shumpert is the better play for fantasy owners, and we're standing by that stance firmly. B-Diddy hasn't played less than 25 minutes in three of his last four games and hasn't scored in double-digits since March 28.

Wed Apr 11 201218:53Baron Davis (neck) to start on Wednesday
Baron Davis has a stiff neck from a fall on Tuesday, but will start for the Knicks on Wednesday.
Boom Dizzle continues to get starts at PG for New York, but he will be sure to be spelled with Iman Shumpert often. He had eight points (two 3PM) and six assists on Tuesday night and that is about the ceiling you can expect from him at this point in his career. Shump is the better play in fantasy circles.

Wed Apr 11 201200:24Baron Davis quiet in 26 minutes
Baron Davis played 26 minutes on Tuesday and had eight points, one rebound, six assists, two 3-pointers and four turnovers on 3-of-6 shooting.
He's banged up and probably wouldn't be playing more than 15 minutes per game if Jeremy Lin was healthy. Davis is worth using in deep leagues while he's still playing, but you have to wonder how much more his old body can take.

Mon Apr 9 201210:14Baron Davis was healthy Sunday, but benched
Baron Davis logged just 21 minutes in Sunday's overtime win due to ineffectiveness.
Davis is locked in as the starter with Jeremy Lin (knee) out, but that doesn't mean he's guaranteed minutes. Simply put, Baron is a below-average NBA point guard at age 32. He hasn't topped 29 minutes in any of his last five games and is averaging just 4.6 points and 4.2 assists during that span.

Thu Apr 5 201221:29Davis catches a break in blowout win
Baron Davis was needed for just 19 minutes in Thursday's blowout win, and finished with five points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
Davis hit 2-of-6 shots (including a three), and anytime he makes it out of a game unscathed it should be considered a win. Continue to look at him as a desperation spot-play going forward.

Thu Apr 5 201209:29Baron Davis now hampered by left knee
Baron Davis is dealing with a swollen left knee as well as back tightness in addition to his current hamstring ailment.
Injuries are nothing new with Davis. B-Diddy said that his hamstring injury has caused the other injuries to come on, but he downplayed the severity of them. "It's like a minor setback," he said. He's not 100 percent, but there is nothing to suggest that Davis is in danger of missing time at this point.

Tue Apr 3 201208:09Davis will have to play through hammy pain
Baron Davis (hamstring) admitted that he'll have to play through his injury for the rest of the season.
Mike Woodson previously said he didn't want to play B-Diddy more than 30 minutes nightly, and it makes sense considering Davis' injury history. "I think at this point, I've just got to go with whatever injury I have," Davis said. He's locked into a starting role the rest of the way with Jeremy Lin (knee) out for the regular season.

Mon Apr 2 201213:27Knicks don't want Baron over 30 minutes
Coach Mike Woodson said he doesn't want to play Baron Davis more than 30 minutes nightly.
Davis' hamstring is still a little gimpy and he's frail at age 32. Riding him for more than 30 minutes is asking for trouble with Jeremy Lin (knee) out for the regular season. In Davis' four starts this season, he's averaging 8.5 points, 5.5 assists and 1.0 3-pointers in 28.1 minutes.

Sat Mar 31 201222:20Baron Davis plays 29 minutes in start at PG
Baron Davis started on Saturday despite his hamstring injury, finishing with six points, two 3-pointers, four rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes.
Jeremy Lin's knee surgery means that Baron will play all the minutes his gimpy legs can handle. There's no telling how long he'll hold up, but if he averages 30 minutes he should be worth grabbing off the waiver wire.

Sat Mar 31 201201:23Davis adds calf injury to hamstring ailment
Baron Davis added a calf injury to his hamstring situation on Friday, but says that he will play on Saturday against the Cavs.
Davis logged 24 minutes on his way to four points on 2-of-8 shooting with two rebounds, four assists, and one steal, but had to leave the game for about a quarter in the second half. With Jeremy Lin (knee) targeting a return on Tuesday or Thursday of next week, and uncertainty swirling as he dodges the media, the Knicks are really in a bind. Iman Shumpert looks like he'll take over PG duties if Davis can't go.

Fri Mar 30 201221:39Baron Davis leaves game with hamstring injury
Baron Davis left Friday's game during the second half with a hamstring injury, but eventually returned in the fourth quarter.
Davis lasted 20 minutes before finally giving way, and after a stint on the stationary bike he made it back on the floor. Iman Shumpert took over point guard duties while Davis was out, while Mike Bibby has logged six minutes and Toney Douglas hasn't seen the floor.

Thu Mar 29 201206:48Baron Davis at less than 100 percent health
Baron Davis (hamstring) played at less than 100 percent health on Wednesday.
Davis was getting constant attention on the bench with a heating pad in order to stretch out his hamstring, and there were multiple instances where B-Diddy was obviously grimacing. "I'm feeling a little banged up, but I've got to put it aside and give it my all," he said. The veteran had 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 25 minutes starting in place for Jeremy Lin (knee) on Wednesday.
