Sat Oct 27 201202:14Earl Barron starts at C for Wizards
Earl Barron started at C for the Wizards on Friday and had 12 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Emeka Okafor got the night off, while Nene is still out indefinitely with plantar fasciitis and Kevin Seraphin is dealing with a calf injury. Barron is worth keeping an eye on, but may not even make the team, while Seraphin and Trevor Booker are guys you can actually target at the end of fantasy drafts this year.

Tue Sep 11 201216:32Wizards sign C Earl Barron for training camp
Wizards sign C Earl Barron to a non-guaranteed training camp contract.
Barron is technically a six-year NBA veteran, playing for the Heat, Knicks, Suns, Bucks, Blazers and Warriors, but he's only appeared in 112 games, averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. There have been a flurry of minor signings this week, nearly all of which are irrelevant for fantasy purposes, and Barron is another player who may not make the regular season roster.

Warriors sign C Earl Barron.
Barron will give Golden State some insurance for their frontcourt while Kwame Brown is out with a pectoral injury. Last year he averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game, and fantasy owners should avoid him.

Tue Mar 15 201123:45Barron a stat-magnet in his 15 minutes
Earl Barron was a stat-magnet in 15 minutes of garbage-time on Tuesday, scoring eight points on 4-of-10 shooting with four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
It's easy to bag on his lack of talent, but Barron would be a guy to watch if Andrew Bogut ever went down. Anybody who recalls his fantasy playoff run with the Knicks knows what we mean.

Earl Barron grabbed nine rebounds in his Bucks debut on Tuesday, and also added four points on 2-of-7 shooting with a block in 16 minutes off the bench.
Stranger things have happened in Milwaukee, but he has no real shot at fantasy value unless Larry Sanders gets injured.

This seems like an emergency signing in light of Andrew Bogut's recent injury, though Bogut may not even miss any games. Don't look to Barron for any fantasy value.

According to sources the Portland Trailblazers are looking to add a big man with Earl Barron's name being dropped as a possible option.
The Blazers are thin at center after shipping Joel Przybilla and Dante Cunningham in the Gerald Wallace trade. Barron would give the Blazers some depth but that's about it.

Wed Feb 16 201113:24Knicks may sign Barron after deadline
The Knicks are reportedly planning to reach out to free agent center Earl Barron about a potential contract after the trade deadline.
Barron would merely provide frontcourt depth for the Knicks and should not be on the radar in standard-sized fantasy leagues.

Mon Feb 14 201110:22Earl Barron waiting for Knicks to sign him
Free agent center Earl Barron has been "patiently waiting for the Knicks to open a roster spot," according to the NY Post.
Barron averaged a double-double in seven games with New York last season but we're very skeptical that he would approach those numbers with Amare Stoudemire, Timofey Mozgov, and Ronny Turiaf all in town. It sounds quite likely that he'll be signed before the trade deadline.

Tue Dec 21 201016:21Suns waive Earl Barron
The Suns have waived C Earl Barron.
Barron has been mentioned by multiple New York writers as a possibility to return to the Knicks, but would still be unlikely to find significant minutes even if he did land in New York.

Sat Dec 11 201003:06Barron held scoreless on Friday
Earl Barron, just hours after Alvin Gentry said he would start for the "foreseeable future," had more fouls (four) and turnovers (two) than he did points (none), rebounds (two), or blocks (none).
He lasted just 13 minutes and we wouldn't be surprised to see Gentry backtrack on his status, which would help the cases of Hakim Warrick, Hedo Turkoglu, and Robin Lopez (knee) when he returns. Either way, Barron is not a fantasy option right now.
Fri Dec 10 201020:55Barron to start for at least a little while
Earl Barron will start at power forward for the foreseeable future, according to coach Alvin Gentry.
"We're probably going to stay with this for a while," Gentry said. "When Robin (Lopez) comes backs things might change. But I'm telling you, he's not the calvary." This news gives him a chance to earn a starting job, and for that he deserves to be watched.
