Sun Apr 8 201201:29Donte Greene plays well in extended minutes
The Kings lost on Saturday despite a fine performance from reserve forward Donte Greene, who had 11 points, one 3-pointer, five rebounds, one block and zero assists in 23 minutes.
This came out of nowhere -- Greene was averaging all of 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in his previous three games, but got extra burn with Jason Thompson in foul trouble all night.

Sun Mar 25 201201:31Donte Greene quiet in start for Thompson
Donte Greene started in place of Jason Thompson (ankle) on Saturday, but he only had four points and six rebounds in 25 minutes.
Greene added one block, and his 3-point range has at times made him an intriguing fantasy sleeper, but he's not a viable option while Thompson is day-to-day.

Sat Mar 10 201204:15Greene scores 11 points in spot-start
Donte Greene started for matchup purposes over Jason Thompson on Friday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting (including a three) with one rebound, two assists, and one block in 20 minutes.
Greene was brought on to check Dirk Nowitzki and is now Keith Smart's swing power forward, but we need to see more consistency before giving him much fantasy attention. That said, Greene's game is fantasy friendly with his ability to hit the three and block shots, and he has the love of fans and management after playing a nice role during the arena push.

Fri Mar 9 201222:24Greene to start over Thompson on Friday
Donte Greene will start Friday's game against the Mavs for matchup purposes, sending Jason Thompson to the bench.
Keith Smart is showing that he's going to play matchups, and forgive us but we're more concerned about the status of Isaiah Thomas than either of the aforementioned forwards. We'll see how things play out tonight.

Sun Mar 4 201220:14Donte Greene starts at PF ahead of Thompson
Donte Greene will make his second start of the season for the Kings on Sunday, replacing Jason Thompson at PF.
The move could be situation, since the Suns feature two 'stretch' PFs in Channing Frye and Markieff Morris. Greene has intriguing fantasy appeal if and when he's playing 30+ minutes, so keep a close eye on his role this week.

Tue Jan 24 201205:28Greene starts and plays 23 minutes in loss
Donte Greene started at small forward instead of Francisco Garcia on Monday, and scored 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting (0-for-4 from deep) with one rebound and three assists in 23 minutes.
Garcia was better on the night with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting (including two threes) with not much else, but neither are particularly good fantasy options with the losing so prevalent in Sacto and the rotation subject to change.

Mon Jan 23 201222:13Greene to start on Mon; Garcia to the bench
Donte Greene will start on Monday against the Blazers, sending Francisco Garcia to the bench.
Greene will need a solid follow-up performance after scoring a season-high 19 points on Saturday -- not just for fantasy owners but also for Keith Smart. Greene has scored double-digit points just three times this year, and has always seen his opportunities come and go without traction. He has a fresh slate in Smart, though, so we'll try to keep an open mind.

Sat Jan 21 201223:39Donte Greene scores 19 points off bench
Donte Greene came off the Kings' bench on Saturday for a season-high 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal, making 8-of-11 of his FG attempts.
Greene has earned the goodwill of coach Keith Smart and he took full advantage of extra minutes tonight, as John Salmons was sidelined and Francisco Garcia (three points in 16 minutes) was struggling. This was only his third game of the season with double-digit points.

Mon Jan 9 201200:41Donte Greene returns to action on Saturday
Donte Greene (personal) returned for the Kings on Saturday but was scoreless in nine minutes off the bench.
Greene had his moments under old coach Paul Westphal, but it doesn't appear he's a big part of Keith Smart's rotation.

Donte Greene (personal) will be in uniform for the Kings on Sunday.

Fri Jan 6 201207:34Greene leaves Kings after grandmother's death
Donte Greene has left the Kings following the death of his grandmother.
Greene traveled to Baltimore and will be away from the team to be with his family. He's listed as day-to-day but this news should not impact your fantasy league in any way.

Wed Oct 12 201123:03Donte Greene organizing charity game in Sac
Aaron Bruski reported Wednesday that Donte Greene has all but finalized a charity game in Sacramento tentatively set for November 13, with the list of invitees including DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Jimmer Fredette, J.J. Hickson, DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside, Jason Thompson, Isaiah Thomas, and Matt Barnes.
This game is a little over 24 hours old in terms of being conceptualized and still needs commitment from a venue, but that is on the way. The idea came to fruition when a Kings fan tweeted at Greene, asking for an event, and he decided to take the idea and run with it. Since then, the massive social media network of Kings fans has taken the idea and ran with it, in what is a different and nice take on the wave of exhibition games we've seen. Greene wants funds from the game to go to breast cancer awareness.

Mon Jul 18 201118:06Donte Greene may be headed overseas
Donte Greene says he has offers to play in Italy and Israel, while also cutting expenses in preparation for a long lockout.
"When I came in the league, three years ago, there was already talk about the lockout," he said. "I moved out of my house in Sacramento. All I have is my grandmother's house in Baltimore, and I have a house in Charlotte with my family. You've got to do little ways to save money. So cutting back was definitely a big thing for me. I turned in my BMW."

Sat Jun 25 201111:28Kings may trade Donte Greene or Omri Casspi
The Kings may trade Donte Greene or Omri Casspi this summer, now that they have John Salmons on their roster.
Paul Westphal reportedly pushed hard for Salmons due to the inconsistency of Greene and Casspi, but "the Kings believe Casspi has a bigger upside and would prefer to hang onto him." Greene's versatility is tantalizing, but he's never been able to maintain reliable value.

Wed Mar 30 201101:18Greene scores 18 points off the bench
Donte Greene scored 18 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 7-of-11 shots from the field (including four threes) with one rebound, one assist, and one block in 22 minutes.
He does this every once in a while, but he is nowhere near consistent enough to be worth a look this late in the year. Even if he does it again, by the time you get him into your lineup he'll probably stop.

Sun Mar 27 201116:59Greene scores 8, hits 2 3-pointers in 22 mins
Donte Greene scored eight points, hitting two 3-pointers and gathering two rebounds and two steals in over 22 minutes of play on Sunday.
If you were in a deep league and played him it was a pleasant surprise. In the current state of the rotation he's strictly a 3-point specialist who can get you some steals, though his production is a bit erratic.

Sun Mar 20 201120:15Greene scores 13 points in rout over MIN
Donte Greene scored 13 points and had three 3-pointers in Sacramento's 127-95 rout over Minnesota on Sunday.
It's a nice line for Greene as a reserve but it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Sun Feb 13 201122:54Donte Greene gets hot off Kings' bench
Donte Greene got hot late for the Kings on Sunday, finishing with 19 points (7-of-10 FGs, one 3-pointer), four rebounds, and two steals.
Greene may have been extra motivated with the Kings still investigating his role in the scrum that led to DeMarcus Cousins' banishment from the team's flight.
Sun Feb 13 201119:39Donte Greene active on Sunday
Donte Greene will be active for the Kings on Sunday, but the team is still investigating his role in the altercation with DeMarcus Cousins.
Greene may be punished if the team determines that he escalated the situation, but right now it seems that Cousins was the aggressor. Either way, his fantasy value remains tenuous at best in the Kings' rotation.
