The award is given to the most valuable player in the preseason, which is worth a chuckle. Kidding aside, Ennis playing well overseas this year can go a long way for his chances next year with the Heat. Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, Ray Allen, James Jones and Rashard Lewis all come off the books after 2013-14, so Ennis could be on the 2014-15 roster. |

James Ennis said he chose to play in Australia for the Perth Wildcats over the D-League. |
"When I got drafted at 50 in second round, they didn't have a lot of roster spots, so they gave me a decision to go D-League or overseas and I picked overseas," Ennis said. "I would like to stay for 12 months and help the Wildcats get a championship. That's my main goal." The Heat could bring him back over to join the big club next season. |

"There's a good chance he'll play overseas," Nichols said. 
Ennis showed some of his potential in Las Vegas Summer League, finishing with a 25-point outburst on July 21. He was just the 50th pick of the 2013 NBA Draft and it'll be a while before he makes an sort of impact in the NBA. |
