Sun Sep 22 201317:38James Ennis wins MVP honors in preseason
James Ennis won the Ray Borner Medal during Australian league preseason.
The award is given to the most valuable player in the preseason, which is worth a chuckle. Kidding aside, Ennis playing well overseas this year can go a long way for his chances next year with the Heat. Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, Ray Allen, James Jones and Rashard Lewis all come off the books after 2013-14, so Ennis could be on the 2014-15 roster.

James Ennis said he chose to play in Australia for the Perth Wildcats over the D-League.

Ennis signed with the Perth Wildcats in Australia for the upcoming season, but the contract has a full opt-out clause to allow Ennis to return to the NBA without penalty. The Heat were supportive of Ennis heading to Australia due to the lack of playing time behind LeBron James and the the experience Ennis can get down under.

Fri Aug 9 201321:30James Ennis to sign in Australia this season
James Ennis will sign with the Perth Wildcats in Australia for this upcoming season.
It's not easy being a backup small forward for the Miami Heat and Ennis will get plenty of experience down under. He had some bright spots in Vegas Summer League and has some talent, but it might be a few years before the second-round pick makes an impact in the NBA.
